Here it is! The second last song from TREASURE EP.3: One To All - Aurora!

Fascinating song, especially in the context of the entire album.

Also, spoiler alert, but we reacted to the last track (Dancing like butterfly wings) right after Aurora (cuz we couldn't wait), and only now realized that there may be a bigger picture of going from all to zero, and eventually back to a new 'all' in the three albums we've been listening to - so that's a cool way of thinking about the journey as well!

Either way - Ateez lore, although we know practically nothing, is so much fun to think about :D we love it !

Aurora is a song Ateez is very proud of, as it's the first song they released that was almost completely written by HongJoong. I think this might be why it feels different from their other songs as well. It's a great song to listen to in the background and to chill.

If I recall correctly, it's not related to ATEEZ lore, Hongjoong said that he wrote this song because whenever they go on stage they see a lot of lights and it reminds him of an aurora. He mentioned it in the behind the scenes of this video. Sometimes he explains the lore and meanings of the songs in the behind the scenes videos. Whenever a song is written just by him, like with 친구 (Thank U), the song will always sound very different from their usual style. Also, Thank U is a song he wrote for Seonghwa to thank him for everything and for being his friend. It's so weird seeing ATEEZ in such a light and happy setting.

Aurora is made of differences, and the fact that it can slide onto this album tells a LOT about how Hong Joong and the Edenary team think about song writing/producing. It is indeed a truly dreamy song in sound and visual, and the video looks different because 1) performance video only; 2) shot locally on a far lower budget than even most performance videos; 3) still early in the ATEEZ budget years. ;) Do please go have a look at the lyrics. If I recall correctly, it's based on seeing the lights of the concert crowds and the light that is the fandom. I love this song particularly because it highlights members' range and does a good job of making good use of their distinct sounds and talents. And yes, the word "aurora" is in the lyrics (나를 감싸줘 my aurora; 우릴 감싸줘 aurora) several times.

I came here to say pretty much what everyone else has already said 😂😂 Aurora was the first fully (or at least mostly) Hongjoong-written song so wasn’t necessarily meant to fit into their storyline etc. I do think it fits well on the album- like you said elements of that dream world It’s also one of my favorites of theirs (and also Mist- can’t wait for you to get there!) Thank you as always for your reactions, I get so excited when I get the email notification 😂❤️

Not much to say that others haven’t already said, but I’d like to call attention to a few things: 1) I love how you can even subtly see the aurora in their eyes, 2) I just love how they say “aurora-“ it’s so melodic and lilting and if my name were “Aurora” it’s how I’d want it to be pronounced always, 3) Like y’all noted, I love how they have the ability to do this Uber-precise dance style while still making it restrained and graceful- like, we all know what these guys can do when they go all out, so the restraint is even more impressive to me, and 4) can we appreciate Ateez’s vocal chameleon, Mr. Jeong Yunho? I feel like since he’s an impeccably clean dancer he gets overlooked for his vocals a lot, which are top tier: I’ve actually never heard him in a register that doesn’t suit him, and he often seems to function as a kind of interesting vocal transition between members of contrasting vocal colors. Just noticed it again in this one and thought I’d mention it. Thanks for the reaction, as always!
