It takes an average of about 10 to 15 minutes to post most basic audios.  For compilations and collection audios it can take up to an hour. First, the file is downloaded, then it gets edited. Audios are typically edited to increase sound level and to remove unwanted noises, sometimes background noise level is reduced as well. Background noise can be hum caused by the mic being too far away, an air conditioner or any other constant noise. Hum often shows up when the level has to be boosted. Part of the editing process includes listening to the audios so they can be properly tagged, a very important step.

After the file is edited it's uploaded to the queue of the blog. At this point it's also given a title and sometimes a caption, sometimes titles and captions are posted as submitted but other times they are edited or completely rewritten or added if missing. A file number is also added. Attaching a number to the audio helps identify the file and keeps it from getting posted twice. Numbers also help when there are questions about a particular audio, after all there are over 2,000 files now.

When the file gets uploaded to Tumblr it's put in the queue. The queue is frequently adjusted to balance when content is posted and Tumblr has an upload limit of six audios per day.

Part of the process also involves occasionally corresponding with submitters if there is a problem or question. However, if an audio isn't posted because it's say too short or the sound quality is bad then I don't notify the submitter.

Are you actively uploading the lost audios from sounds?
