I always cry when Elena tells Jenna to switch her humanity off so she won't be scared anymore. Jenna is so innocent and she just looks confused and terrified. It's heart breaking.

Rip Jenna. she was so innocent. this was such a heartbreaking episode. Elena had to basically watch her aunt die right in front of her and get herself killed because of Klaus. John's last moment on earth was saving his daughter before he passed and it made so sad. I never liked him as a character but I respect him for what he did for her. its so sad because Elena and Jeremy lost their parents not too long ago, their aunt, and their uncle. this was so depressing.

I also am so worried for damon because there is no cure. I don't want him to die. I also loved that damon and Elena looked at each other when John said "either as a human or a vampire. I love you all the same." its such a good line. it made me cry when damon was walking alone in the graveyard which makes me so sad. Also Stefan's reaction to his brother about to die breaks my heart. everything is so hopeless.

Rest in peace Jenna and John. I always felt John’s love for Elena and his family. He was trying to do the best he can to protect them from what he considers to be evil. He did it on his own terms and in ways he thought would help. Yes, he was sneaky and messy but he had reasons to be. Vampires are dangerous and their killings are not normal lol. I never disliked his character. He was very reasonable as a human in this world and not wanting his daughter to be involved with forces she can’t control and is weak in comparison to. Jenna stopped her life as a young adult to take care of her sister’s teenage children. She wasn’t selfish and neither was John. Sacrificing his life for his daughter to remain human is the ultimate noble move. I’m sad over both of their deaths :( Also Tyler is back and looking really good. Him and Caroline are a nice pair.

I also loved zuff’s concern for damon the whole episode because that was literally me when I first watched it. On top of the scary ritual I was so distraught that damon was dying and nobody knew about it until the very end of the episode.

RIP Jenna and RIP John (even though I didn't like him very much). Honestly, Bryce took Jenna's death better than I expected. I was dreading it for so long. Wish they would've done more with her character. Btw, the funeral scene at the end always makes me cry, especially with the song (Skinny Love by Birdy).
