i’ve been refreshing patreon waiting for this 😭

Hannah Bond

I can’t wait to watch this later👏🏻❤️

the ending of this ep is CRAZY

milfnyra mai

the ending makes me feel very uneasy. i just don’t like the fact that malakai was very obviously distressed & traumatised but harper & dusty thought it was a good time to turn it sexual. not a fan.

Emiley

the fact that harper and dusty idk i guess "comforted" malakai in the way that they did after what he went through in this ep is still so odd to me

Cristy

"This is the exact scene from Challengers," lol. Why they thought doing this was a great idea after what happened to Malakai I'll never understand. Props to Quinni for standing up for herself. Also, hearing you guys say Aussie slang cracked me up. I'm Australian and don't know half of those words lol.

AK

Loving these reactions!! Missy and Malakai are both indigenous Australian (often referred to as blak or blackfulla in the show/Australian slang). There is a lot of racism against indigenous Australians and they've highlighted it a few times in the show with Malakai such as with this episode and the whole reason Malakai is even in SLTs.

i haaate the end scene.. harper and dusty just fully took advantage of malakai, you cant consent to something like that when youre in the state he was in. he was literally traumatized and they decided that it was a good idea to have a threesome? its just fucked

Neftaly Duran

I will never not cringe at the end of this episode..

jaselle

fuck harper and dusty

mishka

this is my fav episode of the entire series up until the end. malakai experienced an extreme trauma and was high on whoever knows how many drugs. harp and dusty definitely took advantage of him at that moment. he was not able to consent. its always irked me that this show did that and barely ever acknowledged it again. it gets difficult to empathize with harper after she did that to kai

Yeah, I don't understand the dress code for this show either because no school here in Australia would actually allow that. I also don't know of any schools that have no school uniform either. But I am from Queensland so maybe there are schools in Sydney that have no school uniforms.

Leisharn Tomkins

The group of guys that Cash hangs out with are what we call eshays, typically wearing sporty clothes with bum bags and most have a mullet hair cut. Not even lying they actually talk like that in real life and i can never understand them!

Leisharn Tomkins

Yes, they are our indigenous people. There's a lot of generational trauma for Aboriginals as Australia was basically invaded by the British. They Stole Aboriginal children from their families taking them as far away as they could not allowing them to speak their own language, do any of their own culture practices and forced them to learn the way of the British. There were many mascaras, woman sexually abused, they destroyed the land driving away animals Aboriginals would eat and then they would turn around and kill any aboriginal trying to eat the animals the British bought over into the country like sheep, cows and horses. Theres so so so much more and a whole lost generation of all the children that were stolen from there families. It's very interesting to learn about.

Freefall

I think a lot of those words are specifically Gen Z slang. I've heard some used. It takes time to get used to haha

Are we not getting anymore early access posts ? havent had any early access non watchalong for heartbreak high

Joanna

Maybe not mainstream schools but there are definitely high schools out there where it's more structured differently and students don't wear uniforms.

Tia Lily

they changed their format so 9 times out of 10 the non watchalong versions are just on youtube and are in the description of the patreon posts

selina

won't lie these reactions are making me rewatch the show in full for the first time in al long time, and man it's clear how much better s1 is than s2, and it makes me wish they stuck their thoughts in s2.

Brett Erix

The mardi gras they attended is the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras. It's one of the biggest LGBT festivals in the World. Hundreds of thousands of people attend each year.

I will always hate Harper and Dusty for taking advantage of Malaki 😤😤

L

yeah most of us really don’t talk like this 😂 i’ve never used any of these words but some people do. ‘yarn’ just means talk/chat and saying ‘i’m cut’ is just like ‘i’m pretty upset’. also the eshays speak pig latin that’s what all that ‘eetswa’ etc shit is, no one else in aus talks like that and we try to avoid the eshays 😂 anyway they’re not that common where i’m from. i don’t know if there’s an equivalent in america but i guess ‘roadmen’ in england would be pretty similar… just druggies that have mullets and dress only in street wear

L

another thing; malakai and missy just have a special bond because they are both indigenous australians and they are considered ‘black’ here. they have their own language and slang so if they talk a lil different to each other that’s why. also indigenous australians are the oldest living culture in the world. the history is incredibly fascinating.

The queer representation in this show is incredible ☺️

Crazy how no one really comments about cash and Darren but they are my favourite couple in this show and my favourite character overall. I love them both so much
