Dominique and Wedge-Tail Eagle Studies (Patreon)

Some studies sketches for an upcoming commission. I'll be doing a drawing of SHM128III's OC Dominique. Now the client sent me some preexisting art examples of the character and I asked if the avian part of the character was based off any existing species of bird.

      The client informed me that they had been loosely inspired by the Wedge-Tail Eagle of Australia. Link  Although their character has much redder overall body color. Well whenever I am drawing an anthropomorphic version of real world species, and I have never drawn it. I like to go back to the original source of the inspiration and do some studies of it. So I did a few quick studies of the actual eagle. I find it helps me understand where the character is coming from.
