"By Luna's full moon!"

One of the drawings from last night's Picarto stream. The focus of last night's stream was on graphite pencil shading  techniques and what one can do with only a small selection of tools.  After I had finished the first segment of the evening I asked the  audience what the wanted me to draw, and several people wanted an  anthro, bat pony, version of a Princess Luna.

All of the  shading in this piece was done by using closely spaced lines. This is my  preferred method of shading. By varying the pressure of the pencil  line, the length of the pencil line, the spacing between lines, and  direction of lines, I created the picture you see. The image size is  roughly 8.5" x 11" and was done 80lb Springhill Digital vellum finish  paper. It was drawn using 0.5mm mechanical leads in HB and 2B. I had no  reference for this piece and only had about a minute to come up with an  idea in my head. Then I ran with it. Overall drawing time was roughly 2  hours.
