Over the years I have been asked if I taught art or drawing classes and my answer has always been no. Partially because for the longest time I did not consider my drawing skills to be that exceptional. However since I started streaming I've once again have gotten inquiries about it.

I don't think I want to teach formal classes but I have started pondering the idea of writing a book on drawing. So my question is this. If I was to do a book on the subject is there any specific content that you my patrons, supporters, followers, clients, and customers would want to see?

The one thing I am pondering in my head is what can I bring to the table on the subject that would be different from the literally hundreds of books on drawing out there? What could I do that would make my book stand out? Also what would you be willing to pay for such a book if you were in the market for it?

Your magic pencil trick springs to mind. Otherwise you could offer a much more varied range of examples than a human face, a house, and a landscape. Someone interested in scifi or fantasy may want examples that are more relevant to their interests, and yet still achievable enough they can use them for practice.

I'm no artist myself, but when I look at lots of art I find that most issues seem to be anatomy/proportions and perspective. Color and shading seem to be less problematic, or at least not as glaring if errored. Also, I find your balance between realistic and fantasy anatomy to be fantastic without hitting uncanny valley.

2021-07-07 19:50:12 As a non-artist, I agree that Baron's color pencil and OMS technique is by far his strongest stand out in the art scene. Baron once mentioned in-stream that a recent student was completely unfamiliar with 'basic' concepts Baron had learned long ago that 2 years of art school had left the student unaware of. Maybe Baron could find out what's lacking from current foundational art curriculum in most colleges and fill in the gaps if the student's problem is wide spread?? That requires a LOT of research, though. :\ BTW, given how visual art media is, a book could contain a DVD or Thumb drive demonstrating the various color pencil/OMS techniques if Baron was dead set on a physical book. I'd recommend an on-line version of the video (especially as DVD/CD players are being cut from damn near all laptops) , but there'd need to be some way to guarantee the video content was on-line for book buyers even if Baron hit a rough financial patch and couldn't pay to maintain the videos himself. Lastly, how to draw pole dancing & exotic dancing ponies. ;)
