Yesterday I posted drawings of early American battleships and some drawings of Applejack in a sailor fuku. Those drawings are for a commission for ColdSilverD. Its a drawing of AJ as a US battleship in a pony version of something from the Kantai Collection.

One of the inspirations for this picture is series of pieces that NCMares did. Sol Combatant However I am doing some of own research on the matter. One question was whether AJ would have the original lattice/cage mast the American dreadnoughts/battleships in the early 20th century. Later on those ships were refitted with tripod masts when the cage masts were found lacking. So I tried incorporating both in possible designs.

The client has decided to go with the tripod mast so now we'll proceed with the finished piece.

NCMares covered several these. Ponies as battleships. AJ thinks a blast over the stern is surprising.....wait till she does a broadside....all guns, max loads.

She looks absolutely amazing

You're going to singe your tail (or mane) there, filly. (And "Arpeggio of Blue Steel" has a rather different take on the idea of personifying large vessels. As did Andromeda Ascendant (Rommie) in "Andromeda".)

Not sure how well the look outs can see over AJ's hat though
