A patron reward for McClaw. He asked me to draw Minerva Mink from the Animaniacs TV series. So here she is.

In 1990s Minerva was hugely popular with the anthro fandom, but I never drew the character. One reason was due to fact that I already have a large cast of existing OCs. So I'm not lacking characters to draw.

The other reason was that some folks in the fandom really, really tried to convince me there was no way I could not draw the character. Like I was so somehow obligated to draw her because they liked her so much.  I got enough of that chatter that for quite some time I deliberately didn't draw her as a matter of principle.  Now the fervor for the character has died down so when McClaw asked me to draw her I was happy to do it.

Wow great pic!

McClaw

Most of the characters that have (temporary) high popularity in the fandom get pushed like that -- "You're not really a furry artist unless you've drawn [name]!" No, doing it for that reason is pandering. If I were to give definitions, doing it because you're paid to is illustration, and doing because you want to is the essence of art. (Looks up at the picture again.) I'd say this is both of the latter two, none of the first.

One of my fav furry characters from the times I've hit puberty. Now I'd love to see Lola Bunny drawn in the same style, and I do mean the one from "Space Jam". Or better yet: Lola vs Michiru (BNA) in 1-on-1 basketball game!
