A couple of short story ideas I've had mulling around for a while.

Sapient Flora: An astronaut is sent ahead of the main team to begin assessment on a new, alien world. While there, she discovers that the plant life is not only highly intelligent, but extremely friendly! Between the rigmarole of setting up a basecamp and the hard work of trying to identify dangers, is it any wonder she agrees to a little stress relief from her new friends?

Traded to Minotaurs: Every twenty years the people of the village must present everyone between the ages of 20 - 25 for selection. The minotaurs will come and pick twelve to serve for five years in accordance with an ancient peace agreement. Only a few have returned, and they do not speak of what happens during their time.

The Fraternity: When his father cuts him off to teach him a lesson, a young man is forced to reassess his budget so he can finish out the year. He makes a deal with one of the fraternities on campus, room and board as well as help on his studies if he doesn't mind fulfilling the occasional request.
