Hi everyone,

I'm happy to announce that the asset update is finally done and the Moulinette Cloud is working for all Adventurer and higher-tier supporters.

This was a huge undertaking, and to be honest, I did not expect that it would require this much work. Updating and cleaning up the asset files was only a small part of the work. A surprising amount of time and effort went into organizing the assets into a logical folder structure that could serve as the base for future releases also and works on three different platforms – VTTs, Dungeondraft, and Moulinette.

This update includes all of my previously published assets and any future releases will be updated into this new folder/asset pack structure.

New asset packs are already waiting for release, so new updates are coming soon.

Some highlights and important links

  • The old Bonus Content and Asset library is now divided into separate Bonus Content Archive (old post) and Asset Archive (new post).
  • Asset Archive includes the 280dpi PNG assets in zip archives.
  • Dungeondraft custom asset packs have now their own archive.
  • All assets can be accessed on Foundry VTT with the Moulinette Tokens/Tiles module by Hero ($15/mo) and higher-tier supporters.
  • Currently, all Foundry map modules released in 2022 can be accessed with Moulinette Scenes modules by Adventurer ($10/mo) and higher-tier supporters. More scenes are coming...

About Dungeondraft

To use Dungeondraft custom asset packs you need to purchase and install a copy of Dungeondraft on your computer. This requires a single purchase of $19.99 USD (and is totally worth every penny,  IMHO)

About Moulinette Cloud

To use the Moulinette Cloud you need to support Moulinette on Patreon at Dwarf Miner ($2/mo) level and Miska's Maps at Adventurer ($10/mo) or higher tier.

  • Adventurer ($10/mo) tier supporters get access to scenes on Moulinette.
  • Hero ($15/mo) tier supporters get access to assets and tokens.

About The Folder/Pack Structure

I'm aware that there are quite a few folders and asset packs now for different platforms. I want to emphasize that this is the first release and it's likely that the folder structure or packs might still change a bit based on feedback or the general user experience.

I do admit that I have not used Moulinette or Dungeondraft much until now, but definitely will put more effort into mastering these two platforms. It's very likely that as I become more familiar with these platforms, I will understand better what are the best practices to handle tags, folder structure, etc.

This is just a disclaimer, so you know that some changes are likely to happen still.

What's Next?

The following asset-related updates are next in line:

  • The assets in the release queue will be added to the new packs
  • Colorable assets for Dungeondraft
  • Some asset tweaks to add some missing variant versions
  • Asset modules for Foundry VTT and Forge VTT
  • Old FVTT scenes from 2020 to 2021 will be updated and added to Moulinette Cloud.
  • Tokens will be published for various platforms (including Foundry & Forge VTT)
  • Texture assets for terrain, floors, walls, doors, shadows, pipes, etc.

And Maps...?

I'll be working on some unfinished maps and the Pilgrim-Class hauler hull exterior tomorrow. My target is to have at least two maps finished, but unfortunately, it looks like I'm falling short of my plans when it comes to new map releases. As said, the asset update took way more time than I had anticipated and reserved for it, but now that it's done, I can put my full focus on maps and tokens next month.

---

That's all for now.

New map releases are coming tomorrow and a detailed video update on the upcoming changes on Wednesday.

This will cover the tier updates, some changes in my releases (mainly: more maps, fewer variants, dropping audio from FVTT modules, and the new map series model), and the plans for the summer.

Stay tuned!

OMG, I have so many questions. I know you're doing a video to answer questions, so... 1) do I have to support $$ Moulinette to get access the Moulinette Cloud feature? 2) Must I have Moulinette Cloud to access Moulinette Tiles or Moulinette Scenes? 3) No more audio to FVTT scenes? Why? 4) Will my tier be ported to the equivalent, but newly named, tier? Do I need to do anything? 5) Any thoughts on offering (occasional) maps/scenes to match Starfinder APs and other adventures? As we all know, Paizo's Interactive Maps ain't great. Not suggesting that you duplicate them (that would wrong, wrong, wrong!), but if Starfinder AP has a docking bay map, I'd drop YOUR docking bay map into the game instead, 'cuz yours is dope. Ditto with ships. AP needs a Corpse Fleet scout ship? Maybe Miska's got an undead scout ship available. 6) What is your favorite color?

A Fox

Amazing. Hope your brain is unbroken from the tedium.

Excellent questions and I'll be sure to cover these all in the video. I already made some updates to the post to cover some of your questions and I'll be making a short tutorial/demo video for Moulinette and Dungeondraft for new users. In short: 1) Yes. You need to support Moulinette on Patreon at $2/month tier to access the cloud content. 2) Yes. You need to install Moulinette Core and other relevant modules (all free to install) 3) I was a bit unclear with this. There will be some sound sources, but because of a variety of reasons I decided to drop the "main ambience" until further notice. I'll cover this better in the video. 4) Your tier will be updated to match the changes at your tier. No action is required from you if you are happy with the updates. 5) Yes. I have one coming up today and more with the future releases. 6) I'll tell this in the video :D
