Honestly, I don't know why exactly, but this story is my favorite (of all my stories) and this is the second time I've rewritten it
...
Here are links to the very first version (with links to the entire sequel) and to the second (similarly, all links are there)

Or you can find it here by searching for the story title (Irony of Fate)... There should even be more here, because I've only published something for Patreon. In any case, the links definitely have all the parts.

The office was nearly deserted as Thursday evening crept in. The soft hum of computers filled the empty space of the office. mily sat alone at her desk, her back straight, her hands resting lightly on the keyboard, but her mind was miles away. She was still getting used to the firm, trying her best to fit in like a good intern. At least until lunch...
She didn’t notice Michael Johnson until he was almost upon her.
“Emily, what’s this?” unexpected voice made her flinch as Michael the company director stood beside her. “Still here? Working hard or hardly working?” he said with obvious sarcasm, looking at her as if she was a piece of meat, not hiding it and licking his lips slightly.
Emily didn’t stand to greet him. She didn’t need to. Instead, she looked up, her eyes narrowed in barely concealed disgust. “Why do you care, Mr. Johnson?” Her voice was sharp, nearly venomous, she placed special emphasis on his name, which sounded like something nasty she was spitting out.
Michael’s gaze lingered on her, and a slow smile spread across his face—a smile that made her insides twist with discomfort. “You know, you’re much cuter when you smile,” he said, leaning in closer than necessary. “You’ve been so gloomy all day, but when you smile… well, it brightens up the place.”
Emily clenched her fists under the desk, her nails digging into her palms as she fought the urge to scream. Cute? Brighten up the place? If he knew what was really going on inside her, he wouldn’t be smiling like that. Different? Of course she was different! How could she not be when everything had changed in an instant?
Just a few hours ago, she had been Michael Johnson and not just a pretty intern working here, trying to impress her boss and maybe earn a promotion who, because of this, easily agreed to her boss's strange proposal during her lunch break...
Michael, then in his own body, had been bored, looking for some amusement to break up the monotony. So when the app—a program that promised to swap bodies—appeared in his inbox, he couldn't resist giving it a shot.
With a mischievous grin, he quickly sent a message to the new intern. He liked Emily and he thought she might be up for a little fun. Soon, there was a knock on his office door.
She had entered, nervous and unsure, as always. He had shown her the program, a mischievous grin spreading across his face as he explained the concept. Emily had laughed, albeit nervously—after all, who would refuse their boss’s strange request? She had agreed, not realizing what was at stake.
Michael, too engrossed in the thrill of his little game, hadn’t noticed the small checkbox next to an important option: a setting that ensured the person swapped would forget their former self, taking on the identity of the one they swapped with. He had clicked “OK,” and in the blink of an eye, everything changed.
Michael, now Emily, found herself in the body of her intern-secretary. She had been in shock, reaching up to touch her new hair, her chest, feeling the bra straps digging into her shoulders. It was real. It was horrifying. And worse, when she looked at her old body, she realized that Emily in male body look at her with pure innocence, no sign of realization that they swapped. And on the contrary, judging by his appearance, the new Michael was angry.
“Stop playing around, Emily. If you can’t handle a little fun, maybe this isn’t the right place for you,” her old body had said, confirming her fears.
“I—this isn’t—” Emily had stammered, her mind racing as she tried to comprehend the situation. But the new Michael wasn’t having any of it.
“Damn, It was a bad idea to distract you! Go away already and continue working!" she heard her formely own voice, harsh and rude and in some incomprehensible state she hobbled on her heels, trying not to fall out of her former own office, to think it all over.
The day had only gotten worse from there. Angela, the main secretary, had treated her like a complete nobody— piling on tasks and making her run around the office like a mouse. Each moment in her new body was a new struggle—the way her breasts jiggled uncomfortably when she walked, the way her hips swayed with every step, the itch of the tight thong she wore.
But now, as the day ended and the office emptied, the real challenge would begin. Emily had gone over her memories again and again, trying to piece together what had happened. She knew the answer lay somewhere in the app, but that meant gaining access to her old computer, locked inside her former office. She just needed to get there somehow, and until this moment she had simply thought that she would wait until everyone left.
Michael leaned closer, the predatory glint in his eyes making her stomach churn. “You know, you’re much prettier when you smile, Emily. Today you’ve been a bit of a downer. But I have to say, I like this new look on you.”
Emily shivered, his voice cutting through her like a knife. And the worst thing is that she understood that she would have done the same thing in his place if she had remained herself. “Is there something you need, Mr. Johnson? Or are you just here to harass me more?"
Michael chuckled and stood up straight, putting his hands in his pockets and looking at Emily's displeased face "Actually, I wanted to have a little chat with you tomorrow, but since you are here... You see, I’ve been thinking… maybe this isn’t the right fit for you after all.”
At that moment her heart started beating faster! How could she forget that, because she really thought that if Emily didn't want sex, she would fire her. And if she gets fired, she won't be able to get anywhere near her former computer! Her eyes ran from side to side, trying to find some idea, something to...
"Don't be so tense, Emily," Michael said quietly as if wanting to tease her. “Maybe this isn’t the right place for you?" he stood and leaned in. Too close. Her body, which had been there until recently, now wanted to fuck her. It was too disgusting, but what she could do? How can she get her life back if she gets fired from her own company, which she recently owned?! And she didn't know anything about Emily except that she had a cute face...
