And we reach the end of another story!  I hope you enjoyed this one.  I don't know if I'll write another one like it...but maybe I will?  The spicy scenes are kind of like action scenes lol

***

The Belladonnas’ home was always quite the sight, but it truly sparkled at night.  Pathlights lined the circular drive leading to the front entrance.  Dotting up the elegant stone steps, warm lanterns welcomed guests to a large, sprawling home with lights shining from every front-facing window.  Sleek, black limousines, town cars and flashy exotic cars had already begun to arrive.  Each one slowly pulled up to the entrance, where two sharply dressed valets opened doors and greeted the well-connected, wealthy, or powerful occupants.

A man and woman wearing some of their finest attire stepped out of a limousine as Yang hurried past.  She couldn’t put a name to their faces, but they looked familiar enough that she smiled and nodded when they glanced her way.  They responded with polite smiles of their own before walking up the front steps, but Yang didn’t follow them.  She waved to the valets and took the path leading around the house instead.

Boxes filled with wine and champagne bottles propped open the side door, suggesting the catering crew was already so busy that they hadn’t had time to bring everything in.  Knowing the wine needed to be opened sooner rather than later, she carried one of the boxes inside.  The clinking of the bottles was quickly drowned out by the commotion in the kitchen, and she smiled when she saw the chaos underway.

“Busy night or what?” she asked, drawing several surprised glances as she set the box down and opened it.

“Yang!”  Seconds later, Nora appeared beside her.  “Thank god you’re here.  Glynda put me on wine duty -”

“You volunteered for it, Nora,” Ren corrected from the stove, but she waved his input away.

“I was supposed to have these open and poured like fifteen minutes ago!” she said while gesturing to another case of wine at her feet.  “Help me out?”

“Of course!”  Quickly assessing the situation, which was many empty wine glasses and many full bottles of wine, Yang nodded and grabbed the first bottle.  “Why don’t I pour while you open?”

“On it!”

While Nora grabbed a corkscrew, Yang tilted the bottle to the first glass and filled it as neatly but quickly as possible.  Once that glass was done, she paused and sniffed the bottle in her hand.

“Wow, this is good stuff,” she commented before pouring the second glass.

“I know, right?  Can’t wait to sneak some of it later.”

“Nora…” Ren cautioned her, but Nora just laughed and set another bottle on the island near Yang.

Chuckling at their banter, Yang drained the first bottle before setting it aside and grabbing the next.  She hadn’t realized it until now, but she could tell a lot about a party just by peeking into the kitchen.  Plenty of fancy wine meant an upscale, high-class event.  The amount of champagne, however, suggested a celebration.  Who else drank that much champagne just for the heck of it?

“What do you think tonight’s about?” she asked after finishing another bottle.

“No idea.  Shouldn’t you know?”

“Something about a big party, important people, dress fancy - that’s all I’ve got.”

As if her outfit needed any more explanation, she gestured to her dress and heels.

“The Governor’s probably making an announcement about his campaign,” Ren suggested while setting a tray of appetizers on the island.  When Nora tried to snatch one, he gently swatted her hand away and set a small plate of the ‘messed up’ food in front of her instead.

Ren’s response made sense to Yang.  With reelection season in full swing, there seemed to be no end to the fancy parties, dinners, and gatherings.  At this rate, she would run out of dresses sooner rather than later.

Hearing heels clicking down the hall, she looked up right as Glynda appeared in the doorway.  For a split second, Glynda looked almost happy to see her.  Then the business-like persona fell back into place.

“What’re you doing in here?”  Her gaze swept from the wine bottle in Yang’s hand to the filled wine glasses on the island, answering the question for herself but still waiting for Yang’s response.

“Just helping out.”

“And what will Mrs. Belladonna think if she finds one of her guests in the kitchen?”

“That I pour a mean glass of wine?” Yang joked.  Nora giggled beside her, but Glynda gave her a long, serious look before eventually smiling.

“We appreciate your help,” she said while taking the bottle from Yang’s hand.  “But please go enjoy yourself.  Tonight’s for you and the rest of the guests.”

When Yang merely thought about arguing that she liked helping, Glynda’s brow rose.

“Alright,” she acquiesced instead.  Backing toward the hall, she smiled and waved to the catering crew she had once loved being a part of.  “I’ll see you out there.”

Leaving them to the rest of the prep work, she made her way to the foyer.  As with every other event she had attended at the Belladonnas’, the entryway had been pristinely cleaned and decorated to host such esteemed guests.  And the architect of it all, Kali Belladonna, looked immaculate and unfrazzled as ever.

“There you are.”  Leaving her post by the front door, Kali walked over and pulled Yang into a hug.  “I was starting to worry you wouldn’t make it.”

“Of course I made it!  Blake reminded me practically every hour this week.”

After chuckling at the response, Kali held Yang by the shoulders and gave her outfit a thorough look.

“You look wonderful, as always.”

“Thanks.  Blake said to pick something I love wearing, so…”  Yang held out her arms as if to say, ‘So here it is.’

“Yellow’s a great color on you.”

Yang’s heart warmed at the sincere compliment and smile that came along with it.  Then Kali’s gaze caught on her ears, and a thoughtful expression settled into place.

“I have something for you.”

Before Yang asked what, Kali went to the entryway table and opened one of the drawers.  When she returned with a pair of diamond earrings, Yang immediately waved her hands and shook her head.

“Oh, thank you, really, but I couldn’t -”

“They’ll look perfect on you,” Kali said while pressing them into Yang’s hands.  From their weight alone, they were expensive.  They were also beautiful - crystal clear, sparkling diamonds dangling from glittering silver hooks.

“I can’t possibly accept these.”

Yang met Kali’s gaze and silently begged her not to be offended.  Kali, however, smiled and pressed Yang’s fingers closed over the earrings.

“Why don’t you just wear them tonight?  If you don’t want them after, you can return them.”

The reasonable offer left no way to politely decline.  But, at the end of the night, there would be no givebacks - Yang knew it, and Kali knew it.  That was why she smiled as if she already won - a smile Yang had gotten accustomed to seeing recently.

“Thank you so much.”

Yang didn’t know of another way to express her gratitude, so that was all she said before removing her current earrings and slipping the new ones into place.  Without a mirror, she didn’t know how they looked, but Kali’s eyes sparkled as she gently reached up and touched them.

“Beautiful,” she whispered before clearing her throat and glancing upstairs.  “Blake’s in her room getting ready.  Can you tell her the party starts soon?”

Faced with a task she could easily handle, Yang beamed and backed toward the stairs.

“Absolutely.”

“Also -”

With one foot on the bottom step, Yang paused and turned back to Kali.

“Please remind her there’s a difference between fashionably late and just plain late.”

Kali’s bemused expression made Yang laugh and add a quick, “Will do,” before hurrying upstairs.

After all those times sneaking in and out of Blake’s bedroom, using the main staircase still felt strange sometimes.  One time, she even suggested leaving through the window rather than use the front steps and risk running into Blake’s parents.  That had been a joke, mostly, but she still couldn’t believe what a difference a few months could make.

These days, she could walk around the Belladonnas’ home with fewer worries.  Yet there was still something about approaching Blake’s bedroom that made her heart race a little faster, and her palms get a little clammy, and her anticipation grow.

Briefly touching the new earrings dangling from her ears, she took a deep breath and tapped on the door.  Once she heard a soft, “Come in,” she opened the door and walked inside.

Seeing Blake was like taking a breath of fresh air and feeling a ray of sunshine all at once.  A smile immediately crept onto Yang’s lips when Blake turned around and spotted her.

“Hey you,” she said while Blake stood and met her halfway across the room.

“Hey sexy,” Blake replied before pulling Yang into a soft, loving kiss.  Feeling Blake’s lips on hers was enough to melt her heart, then make it beat a little faster when Blake pulled away and held her gaze.

“How was work?” Blake asked, willfully oblivious to the way Yang’s eyes roved over the bathrobe she was wearing.

“Um, good!”  Yang couldn’t help but imagine what was underneath the robe but did her best to focus on Blake’s words.  “Normal, pretty much.  I finished about half of the sitting room.”

“Why do they need a sitting room?”

“Because Weiss is rich and loves throwing money around?”

After scoffing at the comment, which could very well be true, Blake smiled and tucked Yang’s hair behind one ear.

“I missed you...”

“I missed you too.”  Even though they hadn’t been apart for long, they had both been so busy recently that it felt like they hadn’t seen each other enough.  “But you had this whole thing to set up,” Yang added while her hands reclaimed their place on Blake’s hips.  “Big party and all that.”

Proving her point, Yang motioned to the windows overlooking the party just getting underway in the backyard.  After barely glancing that way, Blake caught sight of Yang’s ears - or, more specifically, the new earrings dangling there.

“Where’d you get these?” she asked, reaching up and lightly touching them.

“Your mom just gave them to me.  And I don’t think she’s going to take them back...”

“Good.”  Yang’s brow rose, but Blake nodded.  “You shouldn’t give them back,” she added.  “They look great on you.”

“You know how I feel about expensive gifts…”

“You realize that the more you turn down her expensive gifts, the more she’s going to give them to you?”

When Yang sighed at what felt like a genuine predicament, Blake smiled and stroked her cheek.

“Why is that?” Yang eventually asked.

“Because it’s nice to know that someone’s not using you…it makes you want to give them everything you have.  Why do you think Weiss is building a mansion for Ruby?”

“Because it’s Weiss,” Yang joked.  “She’s always been extra.”

Blake raised one brow at the response, so Yang raised her hands rather than argue further.  “What’s it like being back?” she asked instead.  When she motioned to the room, Blake glanced around before shrugging.

“Fine, I guess.  I’d rather be home with you.”

“I’d rather have you there, too.  I’m glad it was only one night.”

“Thank god,” Blake sighed.  “If it was any more than that, I wouldn’t have done it at all.”

“That’s my girl,” Yang said, laughing softly while running her hands up and down Blake’s bathrobe.  She really wanted to see what was underneath but held Blake’s gaze instead.  “When we get home though…I might need you to myself for a few nights.”

“I like the sound of that…” Blake mused before sliding her hand behind Yang’s neck and pulling her into another kiss.

This kiss grew more passionate than the first, as Blake’s lips soon parted and her tongue slipped into Yang’s mouth.  Yang quickly reciprocated.  Wrapping her arms around Blake’s waist, she tugged Blake’s hips into hers, their chests pressing together.  Only then did she feel they were close enough to adequately communicate how much they missed each other.  When Blake’s hand slid up her stomach and palmed one of her breasts, sending a spike of desire straight between her legs, she realized where this was rapidly leading.

“Um, Blake?” she slipped between kisses, her eyes fluttering as Blake continued fondling her chest and kissing her at the same time.

“Hmm?”

“Your - uh -”  Somehow finding the resolve to pull away, Yang cleared her throat and tried again.  “Your mom told me to remind you the party starts soon.  And I think that was her way of telling us not to...get distracted.”

“Well…” Blake murmured while kissing along Yang’s jaw.  “We can be late...or we can disappear for part of the night - which would she prefer?”

“You know, I don’t think we’re close enough that I’d feel comfortable asking.” Yang chuckled just thinking about it.  “‘Mrs. Belladonna, would you prefer if I had sex with your daughter before or during the party?  After is a given.’”

“I think before sounds better,” Blake mused before recapturing Yang’s lips for another kiss.  “And during,” she added with a smirk.

“You’re insatiable.”

“And you’re hot,” Blake whispered against Yang’s lips, doing nothing to quell the increasing heat between them.  “Don’t worry...I’ll tell her it’s my fault.”

“It is your fault.”

Blake shrugged before leaning into Yang again, melting her resolve with every kiss and touch.  Breathing in the scent of Blake’s shampoo and perfume was already enough to awaken her senses and make her yearn for more.  Throw in Blake’s hands on her and the soft bathrobe teasing even more of her girlfriend’s body just out of sight, and she was quickly forgetting why she was here, in a fancy dress and heels, for anything other than this.  Before she completely gave in, however, she mustered the will to pull away.

“But we really shouldn’t be late this time.  You’ve been working so hard on this for months now.”

Surprisingly, Blake didn’t look disappointed.  She just read Yang’s eyes, determining how serious she was, before smiling.

“Ok, fine.  I’ll get dressed then.”

The next thing Yang knew, Blake calmly untied her robe and dropped it to the floor.  Suddenly blessed with a front-row view of Blake’s lacy black lingerie - the skimpy undergarments all that stood between her and Blake’s naked body - Yang’s mouth dried up.

“God…” she breathed out while Blake stepped closer.

“Help me into my dress?”

Based on the humor in Blake’s eyes and smirk on her lips, she knew she just won.  She knew Yang couldn’t resist.  Yang had never resisted her like this before, and that wasn’t about to start now.

“Jesus, Blake…”

Her hands itched to touch Blake now, wanting nothing more than to explore every inch of skin exposed to her.  That desire only mounted when Blake stepped closer, now within Yang’s reach, and lifted one brow.

“I’ll take that as a no.”

The moment Blake turned around, Yang sprang into motion, wrapping her arms around Blake’s waist and pulling her back against her.

“Wait a second...” she breathed out as her hands finally got what they wanted.  “I didn’t say no…”

The dress would have to wait since Yang’s hands weren’t done exploring yet, running across Blake’s stomach before up to her bra.  A soft sigh slipped through Blake’s lips as Yang groped her breasts through the lacy fabric, followed by a low hum of pleasure when Yang’s lips found their way to her neck, greedily kissing the delicate skin there.

The way Blake bent into every touch gave away how badly she wanted this.  Her submissiveness turned Yang on even more, and that was before Yang glanced up and noticed the desk mirror reflecting every moment back to her.  In it, she had the perfect view of Blake’s body, but also the way Blake’s eyes fluttered at every sensation and the way her lips parted with every blissful sigh.

“You smell fantastic…” Yang mumbled, pressing her nose to Blake’s neck and inhaling.  She then continued her kisses while hugging Blake against her, one hand gently kneading Blake’s breasts while the other remained wrapped around Blake’s waist.  Something about standing there, so close and intimate, was deeply satisfying.

Of course, she wasn’t the only party who needed satisfying, as Blake reminded her by taking the hand around her waist and none-too-subtly shoving it between her legs.  Yang chuckled at the impatience but acquiesced, running her fingers over Blake’s lacy underwear until reaching a damp spot near the center.

“Fuck…” she whispered as a soft moan slipped through Blake’s lips.  Feeling how wet Blake was catapulted Yang from turned on to ravenous in a second.  Suddenly, her mindset matched Blake’s.  Screw the party, screw the guests waiting downstairs - the only thing that mattered was Blake, and making Blake feel incredible right now.

That goal in mind, she slipped her hand into Blake’s underwear, trailing across soft, warm skin while Blake seemed to hold her breath in anticipation.

“You’re amazing...” Yang murmured against Blake’s neck while reaching lower, feeling the heat and moisture build.  As soon as she dipped her finger into Blake, feeling how turned on she was and hearing it in the low moan escaping her lips, Yang’s eyes fluttered and desire flooded through her.  A dull throb started between her own legs, craving Blake’s tongue or fingers just as much as Blake was surely craving hers, but she pushed that urge aside in favor of serving Blake first.

When she rubbed her finger over Blake’s clit, Blake’s muted gasp made her want even more.  Renewing her kisses, she clutched Blake tightly to her while sliding a finger around Blake’s clit over and over again.  She knew Blake wanted more - faster, harder, and now - but she savored the experience while she could.  Blake, nearly naked, back pressed against her, squirming with desire, soft sighs sounding almost like whines while Yang gently stroked her.

“Yang…”

Blake followed up the subtle plea by grabbing Yang’s hand and pressing it harder between her legs, grinding herself against it in search of the pleasure she wanted.  Yang smiled at the greedy display but didn’t stop it.  She brushed her nose through Blake’s hair and took a deep breath instead.

“I love you so much…” she whispered in Blake’s ear before nuzzling her cheek.  “And I’ll always be yours.”

Blake bucked against Yang’s hand and gasped.  “Say that again.”  Slightly panting now, she craned her neck to meet Yang’s gaze.  “Say it again,” she repeated, her eyes filled with lust and longing.

Yang considered making Blake wait, if only to keep watching her grind herself against Yang’s hand.  But Blake’s eyes said just how badly she needed to hear it, and Yang was in the mood to please.

“I’ll always be yours,” she repeated, smiling as Blake’s eyes fluttered.  “No matter what,” she added while Blake pressed back against her, breathing harder and moving more desperately now.  “You’re never getting rid of me,” she whispered in Blake’s ear before gently nipping her earlobe, instantly rewarded with a deep moan.

“God,” Blake huffed.  “Yang - fuck me.  Please, fuck me.”

The breathless request sent fire through Yang’s veins.  When Blake leaned forward and set her arms on the desk, putting her ass right in view, Yang thought nothing of pulling down her underwear.  Suddenly blessed with a view of Blake’s pussy, glistening from how wet she was, Yang caught her gaze in the mirror before grabbing a palmful of her butt.

Knowing how badly Blake wanted her, she quickly slipped her fingers into Blake, watching in the mirror as Blake’s eyes closed and another moan filled the room.  Spurred on by the response, Yang pulled her fingers out and thrust in again, rewarded with another moan as Blake rested her head against her hands on the desk.

“Fuck, Blake…” Yang breathed out while setting a steady rhythm with her arm.  Blake was so wet that Yang wished she had a strap-on nearby, knowing Blake would take the whole thing with those greedy, throaty moans of hers.  Her fingers would have to do for now, not that Blake seemed to mind.  With every thrust, Blake moved her hips back to meet Yang’s hand, burying Yang’s fingers deep inside her before edging forward and repeating all over again.

“God…Yang, please -”

Yang physically reacted to the plea, driving her arm forward as hard as she could, meeting Blake’s pussy with a satisfying smack each time.  Blake was already close - Yang felt it in the way Blake tightened around her fingers and heard it in the unstifled moans.  Either Blake knew they were far enough away in this corner of the house or she didn’t care if someone overheard.

Yang didn’t care either.  Not as she ran her free hand over Blake’s spine, rising in little ridges down her back, before sliding that hand around Blake’s pelvis and finding her clit.  Blake cried out in pleasure at the unexpected touch before her moans returned louder than before.  She was in heaven, but Yang wanted to send her shooting straight past heaven to the place where only ecstasy exists.

“Yang - I gonna -”

“Come for me,” Yang said, her voice breathless from the pace.

“Fuck -” Blake got out before a wave of pleasure surged through her body.  Her back arched and her head went back as a long, satisfied moan filled the air, and her hips desperately thrust onto Yang’s fingers as the orgasm lengthened.  Only when she jerked away did Yang stop fucking her, and only then to watch in extremely turned on pride as Blake all but collapsed onto the desk.

While Blake rested her head on her hands and caught her breath, Yang leaned down and pressed kisses on her back.

“I love you,” Yang whispered, leaving a trail of kisses while Blake’s breathing slowed down.

“I love you too...” Blake mumbled to the desk.  It was a little longer before she recovered enough to finally straighten up.  Only then did she turn around and smile.

“Well, I feel better now.”

“Did you not before?”

Before Yang could even get concerned, Blake laughed and kissed her.

“I felt fine before but even better now,” she clarified.  Still smiling, she calmly stepped out of her underwear before bending down to pick them up.  “Good thing I still have some clothes here,” she muttered to herself before heading to the closet for another pair.

While Blake searched for new underwear, Yang grabbed some tissues from the desk and wiped off her hands.  After those went into the garbage, she straightened her dress and checked her reflection in the mirror.  Thankfully, the unexpected fun hadn’t done much damage.  Her cheeks were flushed and her hair was a little ruffled, but she’d had far worse hair days.  Besides, she happened to be particularly fond of the ‘just fucked Blake Belladonna look.’

“What’re you smiling about?”

Yang turned away from the mirror as Blake returned wearing a new pair of black underwear.  While not as fancy as the lacy lingerie she just unleashed on Yang, her inherent confidence and swagger were more than provocative enough.

“Just...thinking about how sexy you are.  And how it’s such a shame to cover you up.”

“You’re saying I shouldn’t wear a dress tonight?”

“If it was just you and me, absolutely.”  Blake’s laughter brought a smile to Yang’s lips in no time, but she feigned a disappointed sigh.  “Unfortunately, there’s a bunch of people here who shouldn’t see you like this.”

“Only you get to see me like this,” Blake corrected before grabbing the dark purple dress draped across the bed.  “Now will you help?”

Faced with Blake’s bemused smile, Yang chuckled and took the dress from Blake’s hands.  After undoing the clasp and zipper, she lowered it to the floor so that Blake could step inside.  She then pulled the dress up next, watching shimmering purple slide over silky skin.  Once Blake slipped her arms through the sleeves, she turned around and blessed Yang with a tremendous view of her mostly bare back and the dress clinging to her ass like a glove.

“This fits you so well…” Gently bundling up Blake’s hair and moving it off to the side, Yang smoothly pulled the zipper up and fastened the clasp.  Once done, she kissed the back of Blake’s neck and stepped away.  While Blake turned around, Yang drank in every detail of the beautiful girl standing in front of her.

“You look...gorgeous.”  When Blake smiled, Yang added, “Seriously, you look incredible.  How’d I get so lucky?”

Still smiling, Blake leaned in and pressed a sweet kiss to Yang’s lips.

“I’m the lucky one,” she whispered before slipping into a pair of black heels and reaching for Yang’s hand.  “Now, let’s make our fashionably late entrance?”

“How do you calm down so fast?” Yang asked while taking Blake’s hand and following her to the door.  “I’m still, you know…”  When Blake paused with one hand on the door handle and raised a brow, Yang sighed and said, “Worked up.”

“Don’t worry.  I plan on taking care of that little problem sooner rather than later.”

Blake winked while opening the door, and Yang groaned as they left privacy behind.  Fortunately, if this was truly something to be fortunate about, she was used to suffering prolonged bouts of horniness when Blake was involved.  There wasn’t always time, or it wasn’t the right place, or Blake just really loved making her squirm for hours on end.

“You’re really hot, by the way,” she whispered as they reached the entryway.  “I wouldn’t mind doing that again.”

“With assistance next time?” Blake purred, making Yang blush as they headed to the backyard.

“You know me too well…”

Blake’s laughter cheered Yang up in no time.  Regardless of her current emotional state - somewhere between wanting to sneak away to the bathroom for a few minutes to faking an illness and making Blake take care of her - she was excited to see what this party was all about.

From initial glance, it was yet another fancy, high-class affair.  Moving the location from the dining room to the backyard meant even more guests could be invited but also leant a calming, beautiful ambiance.  The perfect weather helped - warm but not muggy - and the decorations made everything look magical.

Lights sparkled amongst the trees and along a path leading from the patio to a wooden dance floor laid out in the center of the yard.  A string quartet had set up nearby, their soft melodies filling the air.  Tables covered in shimmering silver tablecloths, along with plenty of food and drinks, attracted many of the dressed-up guests.  Smaller tables dotted the periphery, each topped with a lit candle and serving as the perfect spots for people to socialize.

“Wow.”

Everywhere Yang looked, she found elegant little details only someone like Blake could think of.

“You did an amazing job,” she added, squeezing Blake’s hand.  “Like...wow.  Everything looks incredible.  Sure you don’t want to be a full-time party planner?”

“Hell no.  This was more than enough experience for me.”

“So the search continues.”

While Yang chuckled, sincerely enjoying Blake’s quest to find a life’s passion, Blake smiled and led her off the patio.  The nearby guests noticed their arrival and stared for several seconds too long, but Yang had gotten used to the looks by now.  This was what happened when she arrived with the most beautiful girl by her side - she had already accepted it as another unique quirk that came with dating Blake.

When a set of bemused, all-knowing amber eyes locked onto her, however, she immediately blushed.

“Oh god,” she breathed out before forcing a smile and waving Kali’s way.  “Your mom totally knows.”

“That we just had sex?  Probably.”

“That doesn’t make me feel better!”

Blake’s soft chuckle faded away as she looked around the yard.  Her gaze flitted from person to person, but the lights and the decorations also earned a thoughtful inspection.  Only when she breathed out a long, shaky sigh did Yang squeeze her hand.

“You alright?”

“Oh.”  Briefly startled, Blake quickly settled into a smile.  “Of course.  I was just seeing who made it.”

“Is that the mayor?” Yang asked when she spotted a familiar woman speaking to several other guests.

“Yes.”

“Any other important people I should look out for?”

“Well...several of my father’s largest donors, the deputy governor, the secretary of commerce, and Weiss is standing in for her dad again.”

“Definitely keeping an eye on her.”

Catching Weiss’ gaze across the yard, Yang playfully pointed two fingers to her eyes before pointing them at Weiss.  When Weiss’ brow furrowed at the gesture, Yang laughed and turned back to Blake.

“And you know she won’t go anywhere without Ruby,” Blake added as Ruby returned to Weiss’ side holding a plate laden with food.

“Ruby’s been weirdly excited about it.”  When Ruby noticed their attention and waved, Yang smiled and waved back.  “She kept reminding me how many days away it was.”

“At least she wasn’t dreading it.”

“No way.”  Glancing around one more time, Yang smiled.  “I can’t believe you invited Weiss’ dad though.  What’s this for, anyway?”

“You know my parents...just another excuse to invite everyone over and shake people down for donations.”

“If I didn’t know any better, I’d say your family was the mob.”

“In another life, maybe.”

Blake held a straight face for only a few seconds before smiling when Yang laughed.

“I can see that,” Yang added before looking around the yard one more time.  “Seriously, Blake.  This is lowkey the event of the year - no wonder you were stressed about it.”

“It was a lot of work,” Blake sighed.  “But it was worth it.  Especially now that you’re here.”

Yang’s heart swelled at the loving look in Blake’s eyes, and she willingly leaned into the soft kiss Blake gave her.

“You know how to make someone feel special,” she whispered as Blake pulled away and looked up at her.

“Remember that, will you?”

“Kidding me?  I never forget it.”

The idea that Yang would ever forget how incredible Blake made her feel was laughable.  Before she pointed that out, however, she noticed a particularly important couple approaching them.  Kali didn’t say anything - thank god - but her eyes glinted with humor.  Her husband, on the other hand, beamed and held his arms out wide.

“Yang!”  Yang hardly smiled before he wrapped her in a hug that only slightly cracked her ribs.  “So good to see you,” he added with two firm pats on her back, knocking the air from her lungs.

“Good to see you too, Mr. B.”  As soon as he released her, she took a deep breath and returned to Blake’s side.  “Can this girl plan a party or what?” she asked, lightly nudging Blake’s elbow.

“She sure can.”

From his adoring smile, one might think Blake just solved global hunger or found a way to achieve world peace.  That feeling became even more evident when he set a hand on her shoulder and beamed down at her.

“I remember like yesterday when you’d sit on my lap pretending to drive the car.  Now, you’re all grown up and...starting a life of your own...”

As soon as his lip quivered, Kali’s eyes widened.

“Ok, honey,” she said, chuckling and patting his arm.  “Now that you’ve said hello, why don’t we let them enjoy the party?”

“I guess I could do that…” Ghira mumbled while Kali tugged him away.  She turned around and mouthed a playful ‘sorry’ to Blake and Yang before rubbing Ghira’s shoulder and leading him to the tables covered in food.

“Your dad’s so cute.”  After chuckling at just how cute Ghira was - a bear of a man with a marshmallow for a heart - Yang grinned and nudged Blake’s elbow again.  “He adores you.”

“He’s so embarrassing sometimes…”

“Don’t you remember meeting my dad?”

As soon as Yang arched a brow, Blake smiled.

“How could I forget?  He has such great stories about you.”

“Embarrassing stories,” Yang corrected while Blake laughed.  “Like...the most embarrassing, awkward, horrifying stories ever.”

“I love every one of them.”

When Blake kissed Yang’s cheek, Yang laughed.

“Of course you did...oh.  Speaking of him, he wants to know when he’ll see you next.  Something about how he wants to spend time with his ‘new favorite daughter.’”

“Maybe next weekend?  We could grab lunch.”

“He’ll love that,” Yang replied, knowing her dad would love any time spent together.  “I’ll pick the place this time?”

Blake nodded and opened her mouth to respond, but a tall woman with short black hair joined their conversation first.  “Blake,” she said, clasping both hands around Blake’s for a firm handshake.  “It’s good to see you.”

“It’s nice to see you too, Sienna.”  Smiling politely now, Blake returned the handshake before motioning to Yang.  “This is my girlfriend, Yang.”

The word rolled off Blake’s tongue so easily that Yang’s heart warmed.  She would probably never stop loving how it sounded, especially now that they freely and openly admitted it to anyone who asked - and a lot of people who didn’t.

“Ah, of course.”  Nodding, Sienna shook Yang’s hand next.  “It’s nice to finally meet you, Yang.  Ghira’s had nothing but great things to say about you.”

Learning that Blake’s dad talked about her threw Yang off a bit, but she still managed a smile to go with the handshake.

“Nice to meet you, too.”

“If you’ll excuse us -”  Before Yang could start a conversation, Blake grabbed her hand and gently tugged her away.  “I want to get this one out on the dance floor.”

“Of course,” Sienna replied with another partial smile.  “Have fun.”

Yang added a wave before obediently following Blake to the dance floor.

“Do you not like her or something?” Yang whispered once Sienna was out of earshot.  Blake commonly disliked the people her father put up with for political reasons, so that wouldn’t be much of a surprise.  Blake blew a breath through her lips and shook her head though.

“She’s fine, but I don’t want to talk to anyone else.  I just want to dance with you.”

The sincere response sent Yang’s heart through all kinds of gymnastics.  And, by the time they stepped onto the dance floor, the biggest smile had set up permanent residence on her lips.  Setting her hands on Blake’s hips while Blake’s arms wrapped around her neck only made her happier - this was already shaping into yet another moment she would remember forever.

“I’ve been looking forward to this all day,” Blake sighed as they slowly swayed to the music.

“Watching me carefully avoid your feet?”

“Yes.”  While Yang chuckled at the joke, Blake relaxed into a smile.  “And being here with you.  Just the two of us, dancing, in plain sight.”

“People can see us, huh.”  After playfully glancing at the party guests, some of whom were watching while others continued their conversations, Yang grinned at Blake.  “Guess we gotta keep everything above board.”

“As hard as that is for you to do.”

“Me?”  Seeing Blake’s teasing smile, she laughed.  “Need I remind you of the times you’ve nearly gotten us caught?”

“I remember those perfectly.  They always ended well for you, didn’t they?”

Thinking about those moments, which did end in spectacular fashion for her, Yang floundered for a response.

“I guess - I mean, the weather’s great, isn’t it?”

While Blake laughed at the subject change, her eyes sparkling, Yang grinned and squeezed her hips.  As much as Yang enjoyed meeting new people and striking up some interesting conversations, she enjoyed these moments the most.  Just her and Blake, somehow finding their intimate and solitary moment even amidst a crowd of important people.

“So party planning’s out,” she said as they leisurely swayed to the mellow music.  “What about…”  Spotting Glynda out of the corner of her eye - the woman was checking the food table before issuing instructions to a nearby waiter - Yang grinned.  “What about catering?”

Blake promptly snorted at the idea, and Yang’s grin widened.

“Catering?” Blake asked in disbelief.  “You know me and any type of food job won’t mix.”

“But you’ve gotten so much better!”

“Only because you’re so patient with me.”

“Because I find it strangely adorable when you set things on fire.”

When Blake shook her head at the response, Yang laughed and slid her hands around to rest on the small of Blake’s back.  Sparing a glance around the party, she smiled at what she found.  Guests talking, mingling, drinking, dancing, or some combination of those.  Waiters and waitresses seamlessly passing between them, offering appetizers or more wine from their trays.

“Did you hire Glynda knowing it’d make me want to work?”

“Did it?”  Blake’s brow rose as Yang nodded.  “No, that wasn’t it.  She’s one of the best caterers around, and my mom loves her.  Besides, I have some...fond...memories from her previous events.”

Yang chuckled at the sparkle in Blake’s eyes, remembering those moments all too well.

“Those were the days, weren’t they?”

“I like to think these are the days,” Blake replied.  Her fingers tenderly wove through Yang’s hair while her arms rested on Yang’s shoulders, but it was the warm, affectionate look in her eyes that made Yang’s heart grow.  Moving closer, she leaned forward and rested her forehead against Blake’s.

“You’re right,” she whispered while Blake’s eyes locked with hers.  “These are the days, and I can’t wait to spend every one of them with you.”

Blake’s eyes filled with love at the response, then she smiled and closed her eyes while leaning into Yang.  The reaction made Yang want to bundle Blake into a hug right there, but she closed her eyes and savored their closeness instead.  Their feet hardly moved to the music now - they were content letting life speed by while they slowed down and enjoyed every second.

It felt like so long ago that Yang could only dream of this moment - being with Blake in public, letting everyone see how much they loved each other, not caring if people thought she was good enough.  They were happy, they were in love, and that mattered more than a prestigious degree, fancy job, or recognizable last name ever could.

She could have spent all night there with Blake, never speaking to another soul.  That fantasy only disappeared because the music stopped and Blake leaned away, prompting her to open her eyes and look around.  They were the only ones on the dance floor now.  Everyone else had moved off to the side, but their attention remained fixed on Blake and Yang as an unnatural hush fell over the yard.

“Um...Blake?” Yang asked quietly, trying to spot the source of the disruption.  “What’s going on?”

She turned around when Blake’s arms slipped away from around her neck.  Then her heart jumped into her throat when Blake got down on one knee and held up a beautiful diamond ring.  The onlookers drew a collective breath, but Yang couldn’t tear her eyes away from Blake.  She knew what was happening - she thought she knew what was happening - but she couldn’t believe it.  She couldn’t even move as her heart raced and her mind struggled to catch up.

“Yang…” Blake began, her voice soft and her gaze never faltering.  “I love you more than anything.  I love waking up next to you; I love going home to you; I love being with you, no matter what we’re doing.  You make me so, so happy, in so many ways, that I can’t imagine ever being without you.”

Taking a deep breath, Blake briefly glanced around before holding Yang’s gaze.  In those gorgeous amber eyes, Yang found everything she had ever wished for - love and devotion that made her heart sing.

“I still want you all to myself,” Blake whispered.  “But I don’t care who’s watching, and I don’t care who knows.  All I want is to spend the rest of my life with you.  So...Yang Xiao Long, will you marry me?”

Tears sprang to Yang’s eyes as happiness quickly overwhelmed her.  Not knowing what else to do with the emotions, she dropped down to her knees and pulled Blake into a kiss.  Somewhere in the distance, seemingly far away, people cheered.  When a laugh slipped through her lips, she pulled away and ran her fingers through Blake’s hair.

“Of course I will.”

Blake hardly had time to absorb the answer before Yang pulled her into another kiss, finding another way to tell her ‘yes’ a thousand times over.  Blake was smiling.  She was smiling.  Both of them were grinning like idiots now.

“Are you sure?” Blake asked, looking so in disbelief that Yang laughed.

“Blake, I’ve never been more sure of something in my life.”

“Then...this is for you.”  Suddenly remembering the ring, Blake held it up and reached for Yang’s hand.  After slipping the silver band onto the appropriate finger, Blake lifted Yang’s hand and pressed a soft, gentle kiss to it.

“I love you,” she said one more time.

“I love you too.”

When they kissed again, the audience whistled and clapped and cheered.  The music started up soon after  - a lively, joyful tune that matched Yang's heartbeat - and champagne corks popped in the background.  The only thing Yang cared about was kissing Blake, both of them still smiling and laughing at the loudest proclamation of love that Yang could have imagined.  The rest of the party moved on without them, giving them time to express only a fraction of their feelings.

By the time that kiss ended, Yang felt lighter than air.  She already knew that Blake loved her.  She already knew that they were great together and made each other happy.  But this...this was something she wouldn’t have dared dream about when they first met.  Now, it felt incredibly...right.

“I think you just stole your dad’s thunder,” she teased, beaming as she rested her forehead against Blake’s.  “At his own party, too.”

“Tonight’s not about him.  I planned this for you.”

“...what?”  When Blake nodded, Yang looked around and felt tears spring into her eyes.  “Oh, wow.”

She thought this party was for Ghira Belladonna - the only explanation that made sense given the impressive guest list.  To learn that Blake planned all of this for her...to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that it didn’t matter who knew about their love...was a feeling unlike anything she had ever experienced before.

“I love you so much.”

Those were the only words that came close to describing her feelings, and Blake returned the sentiment with another soft kiss.

“I love you too.”  Yang could have stayed there forever, but Blake’s attention flitted away before returning to her with a smile.  “I think some people want to talk to you.”

Following Blake’s gaze, Yang beamed when she found Ruby practically vibrating with energy.  Weiss had somehow managed to keep her at bay, but as soon as Yang made eye contact, she squealed and raced over.  Aware of what was coming, Yang finally stood up and braced herself.

“Congratulations!” Ruby said before flying into Yang’s arms for a hug - a one-armed hug since Blake refused to let go of Yang’s hand.  “I can’t believe you’re engaged!”

“Thanks, Ruby -”

“And you’re getting married!” Ruby continued just as excitedly.  “Like, actually married!  Forever married!”

“Are you trying to freak me out?”  Yang chuckled at the thought, especially when Ruby’s comments only made her skin tingle with joy.  “Because I think it’s a little too late now,” she joked before turning to Blake for support.  Always willing to play along, Blake managed a serious expression and solemn nod.

“You’re right.  That ring’s never coming off.”

“Stuck on my hand forever?” Yang asked while wiggling her fingers in Blake’s grasp.  Quickly losing the stoic look, Blake beamed and kissed her cheek.

“You know it.”

“Blake and I have a surprise for you!” Ruby added before they got lost staring into each other’s eyes again.

“Another one?”  Curious, Yang glanced at Blake while Ruby motioned someone over.  As soon as she saw the surprise, her eyes widened.  “Dad??”

Yang accepted his hug while sputtering for words.

“What’re you doing here?” she finally asked as he hugged Blake next.

“You think I’d miss this?  Never.”

“Weiss and I snuck him in ninja-style,” Ruby explained with a giant grin.  “You actually walked right past him earlier and didn’t notice!”

“It’s probably the suit and tie,” he teased, playfully straightening his tie while Yang looked between them, still slack-jawed.  “Weiss, you did a great job picking it out.”

“Picking it out was the easy part.  You’re doing a great job wearing it.”

Ordinarily, Yang would tease Weiss for sucking up to their dad - he already loved her, after all - but that was the furthest thing from her mind today.  Right now, she felt like laughing and crying at the same time.  The feeling became even more pressing when everyone’s attention returned to her, and Blake squeezed her hand.

“Thanks for being here.”  When her voice wavered, she cleared her throat and smiled at her growing family.  “It really means a lot.”

As they exchanged smiles, she looked at Blake and felt her heart stutter.

“And who knows,” she added before motioning their joined hands toward Ruby and Weiss.  “Maybe we’ll get married before you two!”

Ruby giggled at the joke, but Weiss shot a suspicious look Blake’s way.

“We won’t,” Blake quickly assured her.  “We’re not in a rush - right?”

Blake looked at Yang for support, and Yang immediately nodded.

“You’re right - we don’t have to hurry.  We can just have fun planning everything at our own pace.”

Reassured by their responses, Weiss relaxed into a smile.

“You’ll have a lot to do,” she even added.  “And I can help you.  After our wedding, of course.”

As Weiss’ adoring gaze slipped to Ruby, Yang grinned and nudged Blake’s elbow.  Seeing Weiss melt around Ruby was one of their favorite pastimes, and it had been happening with increasing frequency ever since Weiss proposed.

Yang understood the feeling now.  All she wanted to do was smile at Blake and let her heart do all the crazy gymnastics it wanted.  Backflips, front flips, cartwheels - nothing was off the table.  Ruby, seeming to pick up on that feeling, looped her arm through their dad’s and tugged him away.

“Come on, Dad!  You have to try the little cakes - they’re so good.”

“If you say they’re good, they must be good.”  Before walking away, he caught Yang’s gaze.  “We’ll catch up later.  After Ruby and I eat an entire cake by ourselves.”

“We’d have to eat a ton of them to make a whole cake!”

“Has that ever stopped us?”

While Ruby giggled at the answer and led Dad to the food, Weiss winked at Blake before following.  Left alone with Blake once more, Yang smiled at her.

“Did Weiss tell you Ruby loves those little cakes?”

“She might have...” Blake hedged while sliding her thumb across Yang’s hand.  When she felt the ring on Yang’s finger, she laughed and shook her head.  “I can’t believe I’m going to be in-laws with a Schnee.”

“But you and Weiss get along now!”

“True.”  Blake lifted Yang’s hand and kissed the ring again, melting Yang’s heart even more.  “But that’s easy when we spend all our time gushing about you and Ruby.  Or, recently, about how to make tonight something both of you would enjoy.”

“It’s...incredible.”  Still in disbelief that she walked into tonight thinking it was just another schmooze fest, Yang looked around the yard before down at the ring on her finger.  “You thought of everything.”

“I wanted it to be special.  And I wanted everyone important to you to be here.”

“God…” Yang sighed as Blake’s free hand came to rest on her side.  “Can I take you home now?  I need to show you how much I love you.  Repeatedly.”

“Soon,” Blake answered, her eyes glinting with a suggestion of what was to come.  “My mom’s only stipulation was that we stay at least two hours.”

“That’s it?  We can totally handle that.”

“Can we?”

Yang opened her mouth to say ‘yes,’ but the word disappeared when Blake’s hand slid closer to her butt.  A few inches further and Blake would cross the line between ‘familiar’ and ‘really familiar,’ but right now only teased enough to leave Yang wanting more.

“I think so,” she answered more honestly.  “Not without some...fires though?”

Blake smirked at the response before glancing to the side and quickly removing her hand.  Yang’s budding desire quickly relented, and she understood why as soon as she looked over.

“Congratulations, you two.”

Pretending she hadn’t seen where Blake’s hand just was, Kali smiled and pulled Yang, then Blake, into hugs.

“We really...couldn’t be happier…” Ghira added with a sniff.  After hugging Yang, he pulled Blake into his arms and hung on.  Blake patted his back, reassuring him as best she could.  When he finally pulled away, she gave him a soft smile that he returned with one of his own.  Once that adorable moment passed, he cleared his throat and set a hand on Yang’s shoulder.

“We’re excited for you to be a part of the family.”

“Officially a part of the family,” Kali corrected, earning her husband’s nod.  “And, I hope you don’t mind, but we got you a little something.”

When Kali offered them a small, white envelope, Yang glanced at Blake, who nodded for her to take it.  After opening the envelope, she pulled out a small, rectangular piece of plastic and held it up.

“A...room key?”

“A suite at The Plaza this weekend,” Kali explained as Yang flipped it over to find the hotel’s name on front.  “We thought we’d save you a few noise complaints from your neighbors.”

Yang blushed at the suggestion, but her cheeks reached superheated levels when Kali leaned forward and loudly whispered, “Show her a good time, will you?  She’s been so stressed about this.”

“Mom!” Blake gasped while Kali winked at Yang.

“I’ll, uh, do my best.”

“I’m sure you’ll do more than that.”  Noticing Blake’s rampant blush, Ghira chuckled and nudged Yang’s elbow.  “But make sure she takes good care of you, too.”

“Dad…” Blake whined, but her parents just laughed amongst themselves before motioning to the tables of food.

“We’ll leave you to discuss for now, but congratulations again.”

When another wink was sent her way, Yang realized that her cheeks might stay this red for the rest of her life.  Blake seemed to feel the same, as she buried her face in her hands and groaned.  The adorable response encouraged Yang to move past the blush, laughing as she rubbed Blake’s back.

“Your parents are awesome.”

“There has to be a new word for how embarrassing they are…” Blake muttered into her hands.  She needed several more seconds to compose herself but, eventually, dropped her hands and blew a breath through her lips.  Her cheeks were still redder than Yang had ever seen them, but that didn’t stop her from smiling.

“Well, that was still nice of them, right?”

“Are you kidding?”  While Blake’s arms wrapped around her neck, Yang glanced at the room key in her hand and smiled.  “That was sweet of them.  Mortally embarrassing, but sweet.”

“They really like you,” Blake said, her smile growing as her fingers brushed through Yang’s hair and their bodies gravitated closer.

“I really like them too,” Yang replied before squeezing Blake’s sides.  “And I really, really love you.”

Yang couldn’t mean the words more than she did right now, watching Blake’s eyes fill with the feelings they shared.  They didn’t care who was watching.  All they cared about was making each other happy, something Blake had done tonight.

“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you,” Yang added before leaning in for a kiss.

Blake returned the gesture two-fold, her arms tightening around Yang’s neck to bring them that much closer.  She had always expressed herself better through actions than words - Yang understood that now - and there was such certainty and conviction in her lips that Yang’s heart swooned.  Through that kiss, Blake said that she was positive she wanted this.  She wanted to get married.  She wanted to be together forever.  She wanted Yang.  And Yang wanted her, too.

By the time Blake pulled away, Yang’s heart couldn’t possibly hold any more love.  Then Yang recognized the look in Blake’s eyes - a look that spelled mischief in the near future - and the impossible happened.

“Now…” Blake began, her eyes glinting while she twirled a lock of Yang’s hair around one finger.  “I can tell you what I plan on doing to you as soon as we get to that room.”

When Blake leaned forward and started whispering in Yang’s ear, Yang’s eyes widened.  As Blake’s words became dirtier and dirtier, Yang nervously chuckled and glanced around to make sure no one could overhear.  Because if anyone heard some of this stuff…

The next two hours would be torture.  But when compared to spending the rest of their lives together...it was only a drop in the pond at the beginning of their story.  At least, that was what she thought before Blake’s tongue slipped into her ear, making her gasp in surprise.  The sound drew several sets of eyes their way, forcing her to smile and pretend everything was fine while an ache burned between her legs.

Blake didn’t seem to care, as she continued her quiet murmurs interspersed with subtle kisses and licks of Yang’s ear.  It didn’t matter that Vale’s mayor stood ten feet away, casually glancing at them every few seconds.  It didn’t matter that her parents were nearby, talking to Yang’s dad near the platter of tiny cakes.

If Yang hadn’t already known it, this moment made it clear that she was the furthest thing from a secret in Blake’s life.  The real dirty little secrets?  The things Blake was whispering right now, which Yang couldn’t repeat but was looking forward to experiencing.
