*giggle* Full Metal Alchemist! ヽ(✿ﾟ▽ﾟ)ノ Yeah, Brotherhood was just added to differentiate this FMA from the 2003 adaptation. The 2003 adaptation still has some of the best OP & ED music tho, imo. Crystal Kay (my jpop queen for life) became one of my favorite artists because of her song (Motherland!) being used for an ED back then.

By the way Ron, remember when you said you get Attack On Titan vibes from this anime? It's because theyre both inspired by Germany. The non-canon full metal alchemist movie (not brotherhood) is based in an alternate reality and features all the characters *literally* in post World War 1 Germany. This is why there are so many characters with blonde hair and blue eyes, while the Ishvalans are inspired by Jewish and other middle eastern cultures.

the differnce between the original and brotherhood is one is half cannon (original) and brotherhood is complete cannon

I feel like this episode embodies the spirit of the show entire. All the Alchemy and cool twists to come, this one always gets to me, and I don't even have a brother.

I think everyone has already explained about why its called Brotherhood, but you're also not wrong, brotherhood itself is a very strong theme throughout FMA. Love it.

They are iconic, still love them till this day and are one of my favorite songs of all anime i've watched so far. The same goes for some OP/ED for Brotherhood.
