Nice catch on Shin being the boy Annette talks about, not everyone gets that the first time

Omg, You caught that! I am amazed at your observation skills Michelle. And no, it wasn’t Annette’s father. It was the priest who took Shin and his brother in. I can’t remember in which episode it was but this was mentioned before. Oh yes, this show is S tier for sure. And you still have loads of surprises ahead of you in the coming episodes.

If you remember that Annette only gets marriage proposals from guys way younger or older than her, kinda seems like her peers never stopped bullying her. When his brother flips out and says it's all Shin's fault, I've always assumed he was the one who leaked that he had a psychic connection with his mom, resulting in the experiments. The Alba who saved Shin was a priest, Raiden mentioned last episode Shin lived with him when the priest refused to give up his land (one of the Alba who didn't agree with the 86 mandate.)

I'm so hype for the next three episodes! As many mentioned, the Alba that pushed Rei (Shin's brother) away was the Priest that raised them after the 86's segregation. As for the reason why Rei snapped. He does mention that he couldn't handle the emotions that he was going through at the time and took it out on Shin.

PEAK. I first subbed to Rice & Ginger when you reacted to the trailer last year, in hope you would react to this eventually. It's crazy exciting how we're now watching this together and love how you enjoy this anime so much. Can't wait for the rest to come.

Yes unfortunately 86 is under the same studio as Solo Leveling and they’ve only ever announced animating new shows and nothing about 86 which is sooo stupid. lol. (Joise)

So something that isn't mentioned in the anime is that Shin's dad was the first to fight and die on the battlefield. Then came the lie from the Alba that if Shin's mom fights she can give Shin back his rights/citizenship for the Republic. Then Rie received both the causality notification of their mother's "name" E022-23077 and his orders to now fight due the him being next in line. The whole thing is too much for Rie and he snaps at shin, hence the flashback. Like Ron said it's literally like the holocaust, names replaced with number and all rights taken from the 86. As always hope to see your reaction for the following episodes, they all have an ending scene so be sure to watch till the end.

That was a great catch there Michelle. Shin's brother Rei does have thoughts to protect Shin before he died and turned into a Legion. The rest is for you guys to theorize and find out in the coming episodes. Rei regretted that he almost killed Shin with his own hands out of panic when he got the news that their parents both died and he has to go on the battlefield and he blamed Shin for what has happened at that moment. On a previous episode, when Lena told Shin she knew Rei, Shin flashback of Rei was Rei choking him and that was how they parted and never got to see each other since Rei went to the battlefield and never came back.

Believe me, since I finished watching this in 2022 I started looking for news announcing the studio would be working on the second season but they have yet to come 😮‍💨 I bought all the novels instead in the meantime hahaha
