I've been busy on the brush this week with Belial, Master of the Deathwing! Not only is he a pretty sweet sculpt, rocking the Deathwing colours; but he has one of the most impressive capes on a recent space marine sculpt. After over a week of being ill with a nasty flu bug, I knew that starting back on the brush I needed a good win in my books. And capes n cloth are one of those materials I enjoy painting and I love creating the feel of. Next week's tutorial is taking a deep dive into painting his green cape. Not just the recipe, but doing a material study and giving you all the ins and outs of executing this subject. From a study of reference, learning about edges and when to illustrate a hard edge, and when to create a soft edge. The brush techniques that will help us achieve this, and of course the colour recipe to cap it off so you can follow along with your own cape or even your copy of Belial.

Of course if there is anything in particular you would like to see a tutorial on with Belial, let me know in the comments below.

More updates through the week and Happy Painting!
