Wild Hearts - HDR Optimized Settings (Patreon)
Content
The game is NOT using/applying Xbox/Playstation HDR Calibration app settings.
The game has a fairly good HDR implementation providing in-game Peak HDR Luminance control (up to 4.000 nits) along with other HDR adjustment sliders.
The reference picture while changing options does not represent what actually happens in-game (it goes darker instead of brighter when increasing luminance!) so don't worry too much about it.
Also the "Standard Luminance" slider to 400 will make the "Maximum Luminance" slider match actual Peak HDR Luminance in nits 1:1. The more you raise "Standard Luminance" the lower the nits you will achieve with "Maximum Luminance" (weird, but that's how it works here).
If you have an LG OLED and:
> you're using Dynamic Tone Mapping or Dynamic Contrast:
- Set Maximum Luminance slider to: 4.000 (nits)
- Leave Standard Luminance to 400
- Set Contrast slider to 51
> you're using HGIG:
- Set Maximum Luminance slider to: 1.000
- Set Standard Luminance slider to 500 (this will drop down Peak HDR Luminance around 800 nits) or Leave it to 400 (for 1.000 nits on LG G2) or 250 (for 1.500 nits on LG G3)
- Set Contrast slider to 51
If you don't have an LG OLED and:
> you don't have an HGIG option:
- Leave Maximum Luminance slider to: 1.000 (nits, Default)
- Leave Standard Luminance to 400
- Set Contrast slider to 51
> you're using HGIG:
- Set Maximum Luminance slider to the corresponding real Peak HDR Luminance of your TV in "nits"
- Leave Standard Luminance slider to 400 (to match Maximum Luminance slider to actual nits)
- Set Contrast slider to 51
In all cases leave Brightness and Saturation sliders to their default 50 as they already provide a balanced exposure and gamma.
