I get a lot of questions about this so here's my current go-to brushes on CSP. Top 3 are lineart/inks, and everything else I use for coloring and creating texture. Keep in mind that I really like to play around with brush configurations, so those change often!

The two that I don't remember where I got were definitely free, so I'll add a zip file with them down below for anyone who's interested. And if you happen to know where they're from, please tell me so I can link to the creators properly!

EDIT: Rolling Ink Gathers No Moss was created by this user https://www.deviantart.com/iridescentdelirium/gallery they have a ton of brushes available to peruse through!

EDIT 2: I made a really embarrassing mistake and had been listing two brushes (Crispy pencil and True Pencil) as belonging to the DAUB set this whole time, when they actually didn't 🤦‍♂️I kept them in the same folder and confused myself. Unfortunately, said brushes are no longer made available by their creator, but to be fair I have phased them out of use so it is more accurate to remove them from this listing regardless. I'm very sorry to anyone who might have purchased the set for those two brushes alone (though I can say I still make use of the Pigmento brushes for coloring, which are DEFINITELY daub.)

i got questions! 1. do you modify the sensitivity of your tablet or keep the default setting? i draw on cintiq 22 and i have to increase sensitivity (to the 'soft' side) to 1 to get something black-looking with artemus pencils (and lots of other pencils). already at 2 the best i can do without pressing down real hard is gray. is that normal? 2. do you use stabilization on the lineart brushes? how much? thank you!

MEANBOSS

1. I have the same tablet and have it toggled one notch to the soft side and no more. Have you tried playing around in sub-tool detail? Gap, texture density, scale ratio, stuff like that? 2.Yup, always! Usually between 10-15.

Thank you so much!💕 This is so useful! I use Artemus hard and artemus hb too, best pencil brushes tbh! 💅🏻

i managed to tweak the built-in pencil to work for me that way, yeah. i just thought that brushes i download should work out of box the way they look in previews and that maybe i was doing something wrong (being too gentle?) or there's something wrong with the tablet (doubtful). like, i also got the DAUB pencils and inks & pigments (following an earlier recommendation you made), but those i can use comfortably at sensitivity 2 (that's your setting). i guess all this stuff is meant to be tinkered with! and phew, wrt stabilization. it's not just my hand (and/or tablet) being wobbly :D

dw Rolling Ink Gathers No Moss.sut might be the one contained in the dw csp brushes 2018 folder of the Free Brushes for Manga Studio 5/ Clip Studio Paint by iridescentdelirium on DeviantArt. https://www.deviantart.com/iridescentdelirium/art/Free-Brushes-for-Manga-Studio-5-Clip-Studio-Paint-568034572

AH that's it! At least that's definitely the creator, their page seems familiar to me as well. Thank you!

Ommg I use the daub nib brushes brushes the most 🤣 I've started using one called pure paint recently that is reaalllly satisfying from csp assets though
