When you go back to edit this, pay attention to the guy in the Coors commercial: it's Mark Harmon. Since you mentioned it, I'll put in my vote again for you to watch "Band of Brothers." It's only 10 episodes, and it's brilliantly done. You will have many questions while you watch, but we (and Wikipedia) can help answer them.

My recommendation for a WW2 movie is A Bridge Too Far, insane cast list with a budget to match.

And for an action-adventure-mystery set during WW2, I recommend Where Eagles Dare.

Band Of Brothers (US Army) is amazing. I wasn't so impressed with The Pacific (US Marines), but the recent Masters Of The Air (USAAF) was brilliant. I'll also give a shout-out to Greyhound which is essentially the US Navy treatment in the form of a movie, with Tom Hanks in front of the camera instead of Executive Producing.

When you first started the show and we told you they stuck the landing - the landing starts with this episode, and it felt like Joe started to feel it at the end too.... Originally airing on April 25, 2018, 'The Great Patriotic War' is Episode 5 of Season 6 of The Americans. It is the 70th episode overall and has an IMDB rating of 9.0, placing it as the #4 ranked episode of this season and #1 out of all the episodes shown so far.

The Russians have always been hot on assassinating defectors. The attempt on Sergei Skripal in Salisbury UK was unusual in a few ways. Firstly he had been traded as part of the Operation Ghost Stories (the inspiration for The Americans) big spy swap. My understanding is that traded spies are supposed to be off limits, as long as they retire from the business. Now either the Russians broke that rule or the Brits did, by putting Skripal to work in some capacity. The assassination attempt was also unusual because it was badly botched. Both Skripal and his (innocent, essentially) daughter survived (barely), but a completely uninvolved British woman died and a first responder (policeman) nearly died as well. The Russian assassins were identified fairly quickly. Their use of a chemical poison - a weapon of mass destruction basically - resulted in a massive global backlash, hundreds of Russian intelligence officers around the world were PNG'd. (The drama mini-series The Salisbury Poisonings is a brilliant watch). Some years before that, the Russians murdered a former KGB officer Alexander Litvenenko in London using a nuclear(!) poison. Crazy stuff.

Julia Garner will be playing the Silver Surfer in the latest attempt to kickstart the Fantastic Four franchise.

Oh cool! I know she cleaned house at the Emmy's for Ozark. I really hope it's a good movie. Seems like everyone has struggled adapting it.
