The next loveable little critter for our collection plays a vital role in making sure Cinderelly gets to the ball, the adorably dopey new mouse in the house, Gus Gus. I'm always really excited about modelling the classic characters especially the ones you don't see very often, so this one was a lot of fun! once I had eventually figured out how to make him stand that is. I added beads onto his tail for extra stability and also to tie in with the bead scene from the movie, which I'm planning to recreate when I eventually model Jaq. For now though, he will make the purrfect companion for one of my upcoming models in the new year.

I really love the art style of the classic Disney movies so for the clean variant I wanted to go with a more true to the original appearance. To paint him I used a mix of Valejo air paints and Valejo game colours, I really love these paints because they come out so smooth and they have a nice satin appearance to them which really helped to create the classic look. I used Beastly Brown mixed with Yellow to make his fur colour, Valejo Air Red for his shoes and nose, Yellow again for his shirt and a mix of Red and Dead White for his ears. Finally for his hat I used Goblin Green and black and bone white for his eyes and details.

I usually don't like painting the models with the same colour scheme because one always looks better than the other and rather selfishly I like them to be different for my personal collection, but although I'm not in love with this variant he's turned out looking really true to the traditional appearance and I'm happy with the end result. He was also really easy to paint since Valejo's have the best coverage in one take.

For the ornamental variant of this hungry little mouse I had to include some cheese for the photos, I again painted him in his original colour scheme this time using Arteza Metallics. For his main mousey brown colour I used Deep Brown which I then painted over using Copper because it was way too dark. The Arteza paint is really thin so It left behind a lovely dark copper colour which really helped to bring out the shadows on the ornamental patterns. For his T shirt I used Golden Hour and Pearl Gold for the patterns and for his shoes I used Strawberry Red. Finally for his hat I used Cactus green with Lime Green for the patterns.

This is definitely my favourite variant this time around, I love the antique look to the model and how much the ornamental patterns actually stand out this time around. I think for future models I'm going to make the patterns bigger since I much prefer the way they look.

Finally, I returned to the patchwork colour scheme this month for the FDM variant and I used a more randomised colour placement. I used Arteza Metallic Acrylics in Glacier Blue, Strawberry Red, Tangerine Orange, Lime Green, Royal Purple, Lilac, Electric Blue, Golden Hour, Pearl Pink, Silver and Gold.
