Scary Beyond All Reason? (Patreon)

What better way to describe the next fiendish feline added to the collection this month, Cat Yzma. She first appears as a large and sinister black and pink entity, only to then be revealed as a tiny and adorable purple kitten, so for the clean variant I decided to base her colour scheme on this scene.

To paint her I used Daler Rowney system 3 acrylics in black and fluorescent pink. I then sprayed her with gloss lacquer to give her a nice shiny finish. To make the poison vial's I used transparent resin, which I again sprayed with gloss lacquer to give it a more see through appearance. I then mixed some transparent resin inside the fully cured vial with some dark pink mica powder and cured it for about 10 minutes. To attach the vial to the model I placed super glue on either side of her hand and rested the bottle against her fingers.

For the ornamental variant I painted Yzma her original colour scheme using Arteza metallic acrylic paints. For her main body I used Lilac, alongside Pearl White for her ornamental patterns, teeth and eyes. For her snout I mixed a small amount of Lilac together with Pearl White to make a really light shade of purple. I then used Royal Purple for her details and finally Rose Quartz for her nose and gem pattern on the back of her head. 

I decided to make her ornamental patterns more feathery to fit with the character's unique style, which I think worked really well. I also really like the Gem pattern on the back of her head so I'll be experimenting more with this on future models. At some point down the line I plan to model Kuzko as a llama as well as his llama comb to go alongside him. I also want to do some advanced models of Kronks Angel and Devil characters at a later date, but this will be part of my advanced model collection which I'll be posting more info about over the coming weeks.
