Good show, looking forward to your reactions. The Run With the Wind supporters are gonna be pushing it for the next show every episode 😂.

There is also a Cowboy Bebop movie. I recommend to watch it between episodes 22 & 23

So, I get what Lola means by Bebop looking "more advanced" than a lot of its contemporaries. The biggest reason is because the budget was immense, but also, they use a lot of layering and parallax effects that most normal anime at the time couldn't afford, and wouldn't be very widespread until the early 2010s. Modern, digitally drawn anime allows for particle layers to be stacked and stacked in a way that was very hard to do with cell animation. A lot of people dislike how clean modern anime can look (something that isn't even true anymore, really), and how much of the charm is lost, and will point to a show like Cowboy Bebop, or even something like Patlabor as an example of older anime looking better. And it's true, they are elite tier shows, but for the most part your average show from the mid 80s through the 90s looked awful a lot of the time. So yea, Cowboy Bebop looks amazing. lol

I hope to see you both take on “Tank” as your next favorite opening song like you have with The Sopranos recently

I will be on the frontlines once more for run with the wind

For me it's RwtW to replace this (if not Given, Yuri on Ice, or Tsurne), and try to get them to watch Andor leading up to S2. That's another show they'd absolutely love.

I vote for Severance or Last of Us S2 or Andor S1/S2

I tried

What I like about Cowboy Bebop is you can usually (not always) tell the age demographic a show was written for based on the age of the main character. Back in the 90s when anime was barely a thing Cowboy Bebop had characters in their mid 30s when all the other popular animes had characters in their early teens to early 20s at the oldest. I think this kind of hints at the themes of the show before it even airs. Although I guess back then, the people watching it weren't old enough to understand the theme so I'm sure it's a delight for many now adults to rewatch their childhood shows only to discover more mature themes than what they remembered.

An off-topic question: For a couple of weeks now, I've been seeing protests against corruption in Belgrade on social media. Are the chances good that this will change anything? The protests are huge every time.

Disagree. Watch in order of release. We all saw the movie AFTER the series - why ask the reactors to experience differently than the original audience. The movie coming after the series lets the Bebop experience not end on loss and sadness - it was a "guess what we have a secret adventure to show you!" Maybe not perfect analogy but the reaction community asking Back to the Future reactors to not watch the trailer for 3 in the end credits of 2 - the entire WORLD did when 2 came out, none of society was tuned in to spoilers - and the clips did nothing but jack the hype for 3 wayyyyyy up. I was seeing it in the theaters and the entire theater went crazy when the footage from 3 played. The reaction community is micromanaging and changing the experience for reactors when the entire point is to see them experience what WE experienced.

Chronological it makes no sense to watch the movie after episode 23 due to the events happening there
