You probably noticed by now that I'm a bit of a perfectionist. And a while ago I made some collet blocks that are absolutely not up to my standards. I've been wanting to fix them for a while, but I need a very specific tool to be able to do that. So naturally, I made one. And of course way overdid the design. Here is Making a Sine Plate, Part One.

PATREON - Making a Sine Plate (Part 1) || INHERITANCE MACHINING

Join me in the machine shop where we will make a sine plate. A sine plate is like the big brother to the sine bar and is useful in many situations. My immediate need is for mounting a small magnetic chuck, curtesy of KBCTools.com. They also donated a very nice toolroom quality gauge block set for use with the final sine plate setup. The material is all 4140 steel (chromoly) and will be worked with the vertical milling machine and metal lathe with a fair bit of precision grinding thrown in the mix. I even get to make ample use of the surface gauge as both a squareness comparator and a height comparator. #inheritancemachining #machineshop #hobbymachininst And a special thanks to my top tier patrons!
