from the UK, i thought powdered sugar on a monte cristo was a popular thing in the US, is it really not?

Scott Brown

A Monte Cristo is a real sandwich and relatively common in America, especially the midwest (at restaraunts, I don't mean people are making them all the time at home). The sugar is optional, and this one looked terrible, but it's very real.

aliciaxlife

My issue isn’t it being real LOL I know that. My issue is the not changed oil and the sugar

Rainet

Jim just wanted to be on TV xD

Scott Brown

Sugar is pretty much on by default if you order a Monte Cristo in the midwest here.

2024-12-23 05:16:34 Sugar is basically the default here in the midwest, though it's usualy presented more as a brunch thing in my experience. The powdered sugar was super clumpy and concentrated on the center of the bread here, whereas you should be looking for a nice, light, dusting. So it looked like shit but is super common at breakfast/brunch places.

You got a bad calzone queen, i am sorry

Okoga

I don't care how hard your life is, show up to work high, lose your job.

Seroili

Fine, but as a surgeon, I need to drink. Keeps the hands steady.

Elaharra

Personally, i think the employee that shows up high could potentially be solved very easily with a zero tolerance policy on drugs. Wouldn't be out of place for occasional drug tests or a sweeping policy of anybody who shows up high gets sent home 3 times you find a new job. That feels like a good policy period.

QuibblesAndGitz

I think a common determining factor is if it's being served for breakfast/lunch (along side other sweet options like pancakes) or if it's being served as a standard dinner item

Uncle Urdnot

Why is the Darts machine by the front door?! What if someone gets hit as they walk in

Uncle Urdnot

Anyone kinda want Alicia to watch bar rescue?

Jacob

I'm sorry they are so dumb, the bar is busy and the restaurant makes $75 on a good night? Well tear down the restaurant and extend the bar, add some pool tables and extra booths, then use the kitchen to make really easy bar food like nachos or poutine.

MyOnisan

im learning so much.... so in english its called pregaming :D in austria its called "vorglühen" ~ preheat XD

Icy

I love these its more like a commentary but its so much fun seeing you react and give your experience as a restaurant owner

Levi Ackerman

Yeah. I'm German and didn't know the english word aswell ^^. Kinda funny we are calling it preheating.

musky and moist Mike

Fire her. Just being high on the job is the justifiable enough to it. the best compromise i see is finder her another job. Well at the end of the day talk to your mom about it. Maybe she can talk some sense into him.

Lance Ivy

soooo do yall not bribe health inspectors in Canada cause you keep asking why the health inspector has not shut them down and i am like cause when he shows up a case of whisky teleports into his trunk

Liesmith

56:04 Alicia: "Is my dad here?" Worker: "Oh, who are you?" Alicia: "I'm HER."
