So. Tails actual game voice actor reprises her role as his voice for the movies. They couldn't really get away with recasting after using her at the end of Sonic 1. Also nice little detail. The Mean Bean is a reference to the Genesis game Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine

The crazy thing is that Mushroom Coffee is now a thing, and it came about after this movie came out. I can't help but wonder if there was any connection. Also, for Tails, they actually got the actress who's been playing him in the games and shows for years now, which is really great. I wish that they could do that with the other roles, but at least they get good actors to play the other Sonic characters. I'm glad that she made the Super Saiyan joke. The Dragon Ball franchise definitely had an influence on the Sonic games in a few ways. Also, can't wait to see the reaction to Sonic 3. Don't bother with the Knuckles show on Paramount Plus. It's a big waste of time. A more accurate title would be "The Wade show...featuring Knuckles for like 5 minutes."

I’m pretty sure I heard a trivia fact about Sonic that when they were first creating his character, that they didn’t know at the time that hedgehogs could actually swim. They kept him not being able to swim anyway so I believe that’s where Sonic being able to swim comes from. On another note entirely, I fell in love with this version of Knuckles. Not only did Idris Elba nail the voice, but his bluntness mixed with him being unfamiliar with anything on Earth makes him so endearing. He’s just precious. It’s part of why I definitely recommend the Knuckles mini series before Sonic 3. Obviously it’s not required to enjoy the third movie, but it’s definitely worth the watch.

This is a pretty good retelling of the Sonic 3 game. Knuckles did start out as an antagonist. He was tricked by Robotnik into thinking Sonic was a thief.

early in the movie you mentioned that tails sounds just like he does in the games that’s because the actress playing tails (colleen o’shaughnessey) has been playing tails in the games since 2014 Also just to warn you sonic 3 takes after the mcu and has both a mid credits scenes and a post credits scene

"You know what I like? It's cringe but in the perfect way" that's how I felt about most things Sonic related ngl. Sonic is always too hard trying to be cool, Shadow being edgy, even the music sometimes. It all should feel lame and cringy but it's done in a way that feels so innocent and cute that I just love it

colleen o shaughnessy sounds like the authentic Tails because she is. she started voicing him since Sonic Boom and at the moment is the only original Sonic voice actor to reprise their role in the movies.

No? Collen has been Tails since Sonic Boom (and Charmy on Colors Ds and original gens). Tails had a different VA in SA1, the younger brother of that VA in SA2, another in Heroes, the Sonic X one up until Unleashed and another one from Colors to Lost World. You are probably mixing up with the JP voice actors, those have been the same since Adventure (they even voice the JP Dub of these movies!).

This was amazing. This is easily one of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. It’s just pure fun. I didn’t think it was going to surpass the first one, but by the second half it went next level. And once again Jim Carrey knocks over the top villainy out of the park.
