Great reaction and commentary. Keeps me coming back for more. The strange Scotty reaction shot was a clip taken from later in the episode when he changed position on the bridge.

This is one of my favorite Dr. Bones episodes. It shows the delicate balance that the Federation, or at least the Enterprise crew, try to maintain its obligation to the Prime Directive and yet try to defend its interest against enemies who have no such directives to limit them except to assure that any race they help is only able to become powerful enough to conquer any local enemy and yet would not be able to present a threat to the Klingon Empire. Above all, Bones McCoy is the most learned of the culture and able to guide his shipmates to improve the chances of their missions. I like that the Klingons are shown as smart and able to manipulate events with respect to the culture of the local populace in their favor.
