I just love rewatching these first episodes with all the worldbuilding! It's excactly how you say it about the scenes with Diogo, Matteo and the Martians, it shows you the tensions between the factions and how people on an individual basis experience it. The Expanse likes to do that, and most of the time these "smaller insignificant" situations we see have a direct impact on the story overall. Looking forward for the next episodes!

Ahh, end of the episode catching completely by surprise and disappointing your soul as well that it's over already....prepare for a ton of that. As the series go on, one thing you'll find out is that The Expanse is expanse with cliffhangers. Nearly every episode is going to hurt badly when they end. That is only going to increase in intensity so brace yourself! Love that The Expanse is good for making a person question everyone. Just like IRL, not everything is black and white!

Yes, the scene with Uncle Mateo opening his face mask gets a lot of comments from most reactors. Despite all the erroneous tropes you’ve been sold by other sci-fi shows, it is entirely possible. You can get the physics about it by searching the web, but to summarize: * Exhale before exposing yourself to vacuum. Inhaling and filling your lungs with air will cause them to rupture in vacuum You will then have about 90 seconds of oxygen left in your body. * You will NOT flash freeze. In a vacuum, you will only lose heat by radiation, and that will take a long time (significantly longer than 90 seconds). * The main danger is radiation burns. But again, 90 seconds is an insignificant amount of time for that. I usually suggest that.whenever you see something in The Expanse that you think is wrong, accept it as right, and that all the other shows got it wrong. Also as wee look ahead, no spoilers but it might be helpful to know the general layout of the show and the books: * Seasons 1, 4, and 5 have 10 episodes each. * Seasons 2 and 3 have 13 episodes each. * Season 6 only has 6 episodes * Book 1 runs from S1.E1 to S2.E5 * Book 2 runs from S2.E6 to S3.E6 * Book 3 runs from S3.E7 7 to S3.E13 * Books 4, 5, and 6 each make up their respective seasons As such, I would humbly suggest you do your analysis videos after S1.E10, S2.E5. S2.E13, S3.E6. S3.E13, then at the midpoints and ends of S4, S5, and S6. Of course, you should do them whenever you feel good about it. Hope I haven’t confused you. Keep up the great reactions.

This is surely going to be payback for all the cliffhangers I've been a part of in TTRPGs :D Karma...at last we meet :)

I'm super glad you picked up that Diego was the kid from the water heist! You're good, my friend!

Just going to point out that this particular episode doesn't really end in a cliffhanger like so many of the other episodes do! All it does is leaving you wanting more. And I cannot say enough about the stellar writing on this show. I think someone already pointed out that the book writers, Daniel and Ty, were also involved in the production and writing of the series from beginning to end so that we get a stellar version both in the books and the show (not perfectly aligned, but well enough that the important elements of the story are preserved. ) In this episode, just think about who is lying and who isn't? (After so many watches, I am only now starting to see the brilliance of the crumbs that the writers leave us as we start to build theories around each character). Who do we know is lying? Well, Holden for one: "I have half a platoon of pissed off Martians waiting inside" Nope. Miller: "I'm going to come clean, I like her shower". (that is not all of course). Is Dawes lying? Is Johnson lying? The writing leads us to be concerned about some characters and trust others that we build bonds to. Its amazing and so like real life (just set in a very believable future!) Great reaction! Looking forward to the rest of this season and I think T Arnold has some good ideas about where to do your recaps!

Thank you for the insight! I am definitely taking T Arnold's template and using it for the Case Study Series. Really appreciate everyone confirming that episode order. Keeps me from potentially ruining some great plot point/story beat by having to look something up :) Thank you, my friend!

Not just that - I saw the Expanse by myself more than once and through reactions even more, and honestly, I never really realised what he spotted right out of the gate. Not Diego, but that his uncle just wants to send the asteroid against someone. He realised that before the guy even did it, and it took his reaction for me to finally care enough and watch that scene closer. Yeah, he sends it towards the Mars ship that harassed them, right? I kinda knew, but I did not knew. :)

Hahaha, just read your Youtube commentary after Episode 4 where you said you weren't cussing at the end of the next episodes. They've got you again :D
