For more context: First five years (1998-2003) were spent under Starlight Entertainment before transferring to Starworld, her father's company, where she was poised to debut as a duet. They went bankrupt before she could debut. In 2007, she joined SM under Ayumi's recommendation who moved from Starworld to SM. She passed the auditions and trained for several months before debuting with the group.
