This time of year is a bit stressful for me. I own stores, and the workload gets hectic and goes right up to Christmas Eve. Thankfully, not in a mall anymore. Used to work 6 am to midnight for a couple of weeks.

I was on a good roll with the stories up until the last few days when the fatigue finally caught up. I don't intend to take a break, but my writing schedule is chaotic. Since I don't have the required time and energy to get words flowing, I'm doing a lot of outlining upcoming chapters and writing partial chapters. This will make it easier to get back in the swing of things. I should have a good chunk of time between Christmas and New Year's to get my writing schedule back to normal and push out chapters for both stories.

Ain't no rush here, most authors I follow are on holiday breaks. Take the time to be with your family.

The last two weeks of December are chaos. I’m reading books and old fics and any update around this time is just bonus imo

Blue Talon

Oookaaayyy, we understand. Dont hurt yourself.

Christmas is a nightmare for anyone who works retail or hospitality. Owning or managing can only be worse. I just dug out my old McCaffery's to keep me company

Richard

Take the break lol

All good man take care of yourself!

All's good, and as your loyal fan base shows, you're not the only self-employed or Working Guy that uses Christmas and the New Year to play catchup. Also, as you're clearly being advised, we all need to take a few days off and just mellow out. So with that in mind, Merry Christmas all, and have a Happy New year.

As a vetran night-crew minion myself, I can attest that the words "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" are best said with the biggest eyeroll humanly possible. Still, I manage to have fun -- and I would expect any reasonable person to do the same! Good luck, Walrusking, and thank you for all you do.

Take your time chief and enjoy your holidays. Everyone deserve a break

Obviously we all prefer quality chapters. Whatever you need to get those out. <3

Merry Christmas. Happy jólnar, yuletide greetings. Have a great one, enjoy sometime off you have more than earned it and I'll look forwards to some new chapters in the new year

Add first responders and Healthcare to those, please!

Take the time you need, lol. You health and sanity mean more than word count, even if we miss the stories. Merry Christmas!!

MadRat

Take the time that you need. A healthy body and mind are more important than some chapters. Have a good rest and merry Christmas.

NameGame

I count this as a chapter, you're ahead of schedule! No worries, it's sort of expected that people are busy around the holidays. Looking forward to the next chapter whenever you have time, enjoy yourself and take care of what you have to take care of. Thanks for the notice!

ReclusiveTony

Sad to not see a new chapter, but life waits for no one. Hope you have a fun and safe new year's! I know I'm looking forward to more of your work this coming year!

Boats McGoats

Dude take a break. Damn. We'll be here when you get back.

2024-12-28 00:20:58 Don’t feel like you have to any writing until it’s the right time. I’ve never commented before but felt the need to because I know very well what burnout can become when running your own businesses or a more than full time job. I think I speak for almost everyone, that you wouldn’t lose any followers and that we all would rather you be in tip top shape to keep the story going than to push rushed chapters out just to keep it consecutive. Take the time to chill, the readers aren’t going anywhere and understand

Talk about burnout... I'm a retired nurse who sympathizes with your exhausting life. You need to take care of yourself so that you will be able to care for others. Family is always first to me, then others as you can. Be well!!
