Here's the latest fact sheets for the denizens of Elyden, this one being the balaur, a creature I've been looking forward to fleshing out for some-time.

Back when I started working on the world of Elyden feathered dinosaurs were not as ubiquitous as they are today and there was still some debate as too quite how feathered some dinosaurs were, if indeed they were feathered at all. At the time I was enamoured with the idea of a large dromaeosaur with bright feathers, like a peacocks. I never really did much work on detailing this creature - knowing it was a large raptor with iridescent green, blue and purple feathers was enough for me at the time.

A few years ago, during my research, I came across the Romanian  word Balaur, which was a mythological beast similar to a dragon. There was no ink to feathers, but I liked the sound of it. Later on I discovered that a dinosaur had been named after it a few years earlier - a small theropod, but thought to have feathers.

This sparked my imagination again and was the basis for these fact sheets. Finaly I got round to it.

This was the most difficult animal to create so far, as I had a particular idea in my head and I was unable to get it down onto paper, and had to go through quite a few different versions before I settled on  a form that I was happy with.

Based on no true dinosaur in particular, this is most similar to a Utahraptor in size (though is larger and bulkier), though with features more akin to those of smaller dromaeosaurs like deinonychus.

I've added a 5e DnD statblock for this as well. Let me know what you think of the rules - I might add more rules content if people are up for it.
