And to answer your last question… he picked them from the trainees in JYP. They were all JYP trainees and for various reasons he picked them. Han was his first kid. He did a showcase with I.N and he really stood out to him… Lee Know was a brilliant dancer… Seungmin made a really good first impression at his audition with his manners and could sing beautifully.. Chan has never said exactly how he picked all of the members from the trainees of JYP… but he recently said in an interview that he just… had a feeling about them.

JYP has a ton of trainees every year that come in, and a lot that go out within the same year. So for him to personally know all of those would be impossible with the tasks he himself has. Besides that, he isn’t the head of JYP anymore, he is just the face of the label. He is asked for his expertise to help produce a group, so in these shows he gets to see the trainees for the first time. Like I said, JYP gets tons of trainees and they will come and go at any time. So Chan got to choose the ones that impressed him either on skill level, passion, personality or talent. He explained in an interview once why he chose everyone. You have watched LOUD right? Lee Gyehoon (Changbin 2.0), was actually earlier at the company than Changbin was. The reason why Chan didn’t choose him was probably because he was too young at the time, so he got I.N as the youngest member who was 16 at that time. The first official line-up of the boy group included: Allen Ma (Cravity), Yao Chen (JYP soloist), and Choi Siwon (unknown). They left before Seungmin, Felix and Lee Know joined JYP and were in the line-up before Woojin and Changbin. Some other trainees that could have joined as well, since they were in JYP around that time, are: Lee Daehwi, Jeong Woong and Park Woojin (Ab6ix), Kang Seokhwa (WEI), Song Hyungseok (Younite), Steven Kim (Luminous), Kim Byeongkwan and Kang Yuchan (A.C.E) and U (ONF) (and probably many more)
