That pink haired person at the beginning of ep 4 wasn't Vi. Just someone who triggered a hallucination for Jinx. Vi was in Jail for the entire time skip until Caitlyn gets her out.

To answer your question, Vi was in jail from when Marcus knocked her out in episode 3 all the way to when Caitlyn let her out. That's why everyone thinks Vi is dead, because no one knows what happened to her. Marcus didn't tell Silco about Vi probably because he didn't think it was important at the time, not knowing Vi's relation to Vander and thereby Silco. Vi was also never with the Fireflies, since she was in jail the whole time. The pink haired girl in episode 3 is just someone Jinx mistakes for Vi.
