Oo yay excited you're going back to the early seasons! You beat me to S6 so I can't compare it yet but there has definitely been an evolution of the show so I'm sure jumping to 6 after S1 was quite a noticeable difference! This episode is such a sad but good one. Some ranking lists have it at the very top. It is weird how many concepts from these earlier ones have either already happened in some form or seem creepily close. The whole AI copy/clone stuff definitely brings up those kinds of questions about how humanely they should be treated, and it's something that will come up in a few other episodes too so there'll be more chances to ponder it! VERY much looking forward to seeing your reaction to the next one - gunna be intense!

There’s a show called Upload which I have no idea if I mentioned before but anyway this kind of reminded me of it. The whole cloning someone’s consciousness, is it really them or just a phony copy? Seems like in this case It’s just a copy not the real him but the show I’m referring to sort of goes into in best comparison episode wise would be San Junipero though. I can see this being a thing in the next couple of years. Good episode I enjoyed this much more than the current season 😂

Jennifer Lawrence

I feel like they keep pushing the boundaries of what AI is capable of and the lines between reality and fantasy (if that's the right word) will become more and more blurry. Being able to replace someone who has passed this easy, essentially raises so many questions. Like does it take some weight away from the loss if it's possible to never have them truly be gone

I don’t like it 😂. I think there needs to be a clear separation of real to facsimile. Still think the treatment is needing to be human but grieving is essential and moving on is natural. Definitely don’t see everyone doing that though. The emotions are hard. For instance, now that I’m thinking about it, I don’t know if I would say the same thing about our little baby HuaHua that passed last year. Having our dog back would change my thoughts a lot I think. But a dog is far less complicated a copy comparatively.

Also, Hayley Atwell played Peggy Carter in Captain America. And in the sadly cancelled Agent Carter series.

This is a good episode, I often skip it though because it's too sad. But I watched your reaction to it anyway. I agree, I may be tempted to do something like this if it was available, but also I don't think it would be a good idea. When someone dies, you need to feel all the things you need to feel, in order to accept it. The sooner you feel the things, the sooner things can start to get easier.

Oooh I didn't know you reacted to black mirror
