Ah i really love this episode, the dark atmosphere reminds of the episode "Nightmare Hospital" from Season 2, which is coincidentally the episode that focuses on Connie's Mom Priyanka. Also yes... the name of Connie's dad is Doug. Doug seems to be like the more loose one out of Connie's parents, tho it was stated that both of them are very strict when it comes to rules.... at least in here it seems that Doug likes to joke around now that he's comfortable with the whole Crystal Gems situation, while Priyanka has been in a perpetual state of seriousness throughout the whole show. Also i LOVE Doug's voice actor (Crispin Freeman), his voice is sooooooo soothing. Steven and Connie's disguises are really fun too..... nice references to Mario and Carmen Sandiego respectively. mmmmmm........ The plot thickens.

Connie's dad is such a doof. I'm very glad we get this episode to hang out with him- 'cause usually, if we see her parents at all, her mother is the focus. Steven doing a bad Italian accent is forever VERY funny because his VA is actually fluent in Italian. I'm super curious what he thought about those lines- if he was rolling his eyes or if he was laughing about them. I like that this ep (and the next, which you've posted by now) end in cliffhangers- this show doesn't do cliffhangers very often, so it's quite jarring and exciting to see as a first time viewer.
