It's fun watching someone watch this Episode but hardly anyone ever does so, and when they do most people think there's nothing new here. But you seem to appreciate the conversation, and what Veldora and Ifrit are doing. Predator is a Skill that Rimuru got when he wished to try harder to pursue the ladies because he had been too lazy in this world. It evolved to Gluttony when he predated Geld and he acquired more eating-related Skills. Great Sage came about because of an urban legend that one becomes a wizard at age 30 if one is still a virgin. But he was closer to 40, so it should be a Great Sage (Sage being analogous to Wizard). Rimuru's stomach is really another dimension. Rimuru intended to isolate Ifrit (Isolate is part of Predator). Veldora redirected Ifrit to his area (inside the Absolute Imprisonment?). ............I don't know what Chess Pie is, I heard of it, but suddenly he (John?) broke out in a Southern accent when he talked about it. ....

There is a 3 parter canon OVA you should watch that is at the end of season 1 because it takes place in the story right before season 2 episode 1.

I'm so happy you guys are watching the OVAs!!! This one is more of a voice over commentary, but it's still funny. The other OVAs and The Slime Diaries are AMAZING! TSD are a bit of everyday village life for Tempest but there is some action and a lot of important world building. I'm so happy you guys are loving this series! It really is my favorite anime, and season 2 is about to explode on you with season 3 being just as crazy. Throw in the movie that is in between seasons 2 and 3 and it just really keeps living up to the hype. 🩷🩵💛

I got interrupted before I could finish my previous comment, so I'm back. ..... It's actually amazing that Rimuru approached Veldora in the cave because most monsters wouldn't have been able to approach him because of his overpowering aura, which is an important data point about Rimuru's strength even at the beginning. I don't remember exactly how long Rimuru was in the cave, but it was in the 6 week to 3 month range. As a reminder there are 4 true dragons to ever exist in the world. .... You're right, Shizu died because she lost Ifrit, but she was losing control and connection with him before that. Her Unique Skill Degenerate was born of her wish not to completely merge with Ifrit, and remain human. The conversation between Ifrit and Veldora, that explained Ifrit's thinking about Leon gives some hints as to some of the events in Shizu's life, why they happened, her struggles with Ifrit, and why she considered Ifrit a curse. The Hero's arrival saved her but she was still a tragic figure. The mask helped Shizu control Ifrit. ............ Yeah, keep the Hero's appearance separate clear in your mind for comparison purposes. It's funny, despite how Veldora reacted to Chloe in the main story, they skip right over that in this recap. .......... One of the titles in modern-day professional shogi in Japan is Ryuu-ou, which means Dragon King. There's an anime about a teen pro shogi player called March Comes in Like a Lion, that I enjoyed very much and highly recommend. ..... Finally, naming doesn't affect humans.

HAHAAA YESSS! That southern accent be popping out when we talk about our childhood for sure. Growing up that's how everyone around was talking to us. But yes chess pie is a must! We'll have to make one for y'all on stream sometime! This episode was very freaking cool. We both love Veldora as a character and getting more of him was so freaking awesome! Thanks for the rundown of the Predator and Great Sage skills. It's wild how all the skills can combine and evolve. So Rimuru's powers grow exponentially every time he consumes

I'm stoked to know there are more episodes in between. I love these characters and want to know more about them!! I can't wait to get into the next season as well! AHHH! The season finale had our minds blown!! For real though this anime has really grown on me since we started watching it. It has it's own vibe.
