C j's excitement over Eliza's album is reminding me of this phenomenon that I feel every time someone i'm close to or even just passing lyrics know makes good art, which Is that it just hits so much harder. And I think instead of viewing that as evidence of bias or like you are too close to this art to see its objective quality is so backwards. Like we should take this phenomenon as evidence that we should all be consuming art by our friends / making art for our friends instead of by/for and for strangers... but for capitalism...
