Don't forget your mountain-climbing gear.

EDIT: A certain someone chewed too much of the scenery, so this ballooned and the actual journey to Mount Etna will be next chapter. As a result, I decided to change the name.

Wouldn't they actually be recalling Galahad's past rather than Mash, given Mash is the flesh but Galahad the spirit?

James_D_Fawkes

I'm honestly not sure how it would work. Canon FGO doesn't really have a dream cycle, so much as Ritsuka is just straight up drawn into his/her Servants' minds to help them resolve some past trauma or something in some interludes.

Gifted-Monster

"You come to me on the day of my Emperor's return..."

Wouldn't Vesuvius actually be the greatest ley line intersection?Given...well...it erupted? Given it erupted only a few years after Nero died, thereby implying it's still stable? Pursuant to that, would Krakatoa be a lay line nexus? /ponder

Why does everyone find Da Vinci hard to explain? She just has her Saint Graph expressing the Mona Lisa as her physical form. Really not that weird or strange or complicated, tbh

James_D_Fawkes

Because Da Vinci herself never offers a good explanation for *why*. She just gives some silly comment about, "In the future, one day everyone will want to be a beautiful woman!" Remember, Taylor even remarks on it in the narration, how she'd never explicitly said she was trans or anything, but doesn't correct Taylor using female pronouns, so Taylor stopped trying to figure it out.

Excellent points! And, well, this time, I'm just going to claim authorial fiat. More seriously, Vesuvius *could* technically be a more powerful ley line, or it could be that the reason it erupted in the first place is because the ley lines were shifting and it reached a tipping point that resulted in the Pompeii situation. It could also be that it's more powerful, but is less connected to the rest of the continent's ley lines, which would make it less ideal for the team's purposes.

Gifted-Monster

If you wanted to really fuck with them, it could be that the crew using Vesuvius is what caused it to erupt. :D So they must make it erupt because they already made it erupt. Boy, that'd be really fucking traumatizing. :D

Raphael Mort

Actually, funnily enough, if this were brought up then EMIYA would probably nix it, since IIRC Pompeii was the result of Counter Guardian action.

Gifted-Monster

True, but that does raise the issue of how. I mean, if we assume that most if not all volcanoes are ley line nexii, then all the CG would have to do would be to have it just continually build. Problem solved, no interference.

James_D_Fawkes

Right, I forgot about that. IIRC, it was given as an example of just how much destruction was caused by the deployment of Counter Guardians and how indiscriminate it could be. I don't recall there ever being a more complete explanation about that, though, like how it was accomplished or which Guardian was deployed. I very much doubt it was Emiya himself.
