-Part of the footage for the original reaction never recorded so I had to re-record those 20 minutes

-I will be posting the audio from the missing clip separately so those of you who wanted to know my thought the first time will be able to listen to them. I'm gonna edit in little emojis to at least give you guys something to look at.

-I couldn't collect my thoughts enough to do an outro. I will film one at a later date when I do a rewatch with final thoughts on the episode.

They start filming season 3 in January, this is just the second act of the story. Lots of self-care and once you are ready, Fixit fic fanfic and also look up "South Downs" GO fanfic. Maybe look into the tv show "Staged" when you feel ready to see their faces again. This season is devastating. And I am convinced next season they will be back together.

When they are talking about a previous prince of heaven being cast out into the darkness I'm pretty sure they meant lucifer not Aziraphael. Aziraphael hasn't been cast out/fallen

I was shipping Aziraphale and Crowley since I read Good Omens, years and years ago. Second season was like a present to me, Neil Gaiman wanting to finish the story he started with Terry Pratchett (my favorite writer, RIP). This season gave me so much hope... and killed my heart with the end. I knew you were about to be destroyed by this... I really hope season 3 fix this because this was devastating.

To answer one question I suppose. Neil Gaiman has said that there are a couple of lists of "hierarchies" of angels, and they place the "rank" in different levels so you can read one and it will contradict another. He doesn't follow a specific one to the frustration of fans who like structure. All we know is that Aziraphale was a Cherub turned Principality (which might have been a demotion or a promotion, Neil isn't sure) and seeing how Crowley worked with Saraqael, he was probably close to her in rank.

The ending of this episode was completely spoiled for me on Twitter and that was before I even started season 1. It was still a painful watch but I know if I had watched it through blind it would've hit harder. I definitely would have reacted similarly to you. I know it's been a bit since you watched it but I hope you're doing alright now. ((Also forgive me I'm about to ramble a bit about the ending )) The shots of Aziraphale during the credits, to me that's him forcing himself to appear happy. He was definitely thinking about what had just happened, and trying to distract/fool himself. To me his smiles seem way too strained to be real. Rewatching it now got me thinking about it again and I figured I’d put my thoughts down here.

There are two instances in the show that make me believe Crowley might have been an Archangel. When Shax was asking about the miracle in episode 2 or 3 she said something like it was so powerful only an Archangel could do it and Crowley asked “are you sure it wasn’t me” (or something like it) and in episode 5 Shax tells Gabriel to tell “ the ass Aziraphale and the arch traitor Crowley” to send out Gabriel.

So “fun” fact: back in June 2023 (a month before S2 aired) Amazon released a promo video for pride month with a bunch of scenes of queer couples from their shows and they freaking INCLUDED THE AZIRACROW KISS and spoiled it for a bunch of people (including me). When Neil Gaiman found out he was very frustrated (understandably) but the fandom did a good job of not sharing the clip and Amazon thankfully quickly took it down. But yeah I went into S2 knowing they were gonna kiss and being excited but slowly getting more and more distraught as the last 15 mins of this episode went on lol. Anyways take all the time you need to rest and recover, I know this was a hard one to watch, but I’m glad you watched it when you did knowing there’s a S3 on the way! When I first watched S2 there was no guarantee of S3 so lots of us were in emotional turmoil lol. As always, loved your reaction ❤️

So after I finished the season, I kept thinking about the flash-back we had during season 2. I tried to find what they had in common. All of them were moments in Aziraphale and Crowley's relationship where they were threatened (directly or indirectly) by heaven or hell. And with the one with the bullet trick, it cut very close. So maybe Aziraphale thought that they couldn't be safe forever with their Arrangement, because their luck would run out one or another.

You're the only person other than my sister and I who seems to have noticed Aziraphale's smile during the end credits! My sister is convinced that it was the moment that he came up with a plan to stop the Second Coming and end up with Crowley A sucker punch of an ending in so many ways. As I'm sure someone has mentioned, at the time that season 2 was released, there was a writer's strike, so no one was sure if there would be a third season. Relieved that there will be! Filming begins in January ❤️

My personal headcanon matches your sister's. I also don't think Aziraphale truly *believes* that Crowley is gone for good. They have played out this scene so many times and Crowley always comes back. If Season 3 follows the same real-world timeline, it'll start with them being apart for a couple of years. It'll be interesting to see how they function apart.

Ever since season one people point out how Aziraphale is not like other angels and Crowley is not like other demons. Aziraphale dances, Crowley has imagination, etc. At the end of season one, they talk about all of Us against all of Them. Meaning Heaven and Hell on one side and humans on the other. But do they ever clarify which side they are calling "us"? It really seems like the two of them are becoming a new kind of creature. Not an angel anymore, not a demon anymore. Dare I say they're becoming human? And maybe that was the Divine Plan all along - keep shoving weird stuff at the angels until they break away entirely. Not just rebel against Heaven while still playing by the rules ("there must be a war," "demons are Bad/angels are Good", etc.) But fully step back and say, "No we are not playing this game at all anymore." "Love. It's something that humans do." That sentence is so important, because *angels don't fall in love* but now they're starting to do that all over the place. That ties in with my theory that they're becoming more human.

Neil, David and Michael love these characters and I trust they will do well by them. Neil had written the final 15 minutes of season 3 before season 2 aired, so that we would get closure in case if something happened to him… Neil has promised us a happy ending (although you never know with him, he said this season would be quiet, gentle and romantic which it was for about 5 3/4 episodes only to shred our still beating hearts in the final 15. Who knows what he might consider happy…) David has read it though and is satisfied with the way it ends!

Personally convinced myself that Azeraphel may have agreed to heaven when he heard Metatron say they had big plans and the agreement was another one of those not talking to each other plans at start and then with the talking devolved (maybe because as you pointed out Metatron was watching). The smile at the end being the brave face he has to put on to be convincing. As another person pointed out perhaps it was also a point where he came up with a plan. Anyway, I'm sorry this hurt you so much, I know how it feels being so attached to these characters, Neil Gaimen, David Tenant, And Michael Sheen do such an amazing job (my sister and I went the anger route in our emotional response ourselves). A great reaction video - well done! I am sorry that it was so emotional for you, although with your investment in the characters, it wasn't really surprising. I am sorry also that your camera messed you about even further. I am sure that the last thing you needed was more editing - but we appreciate it. Thanks. A couple of my thoughts, fwtw, A. Aziraphale most important conception of himself is an Angel (with a capital A), regardless of his estrangement from Heaven. He is definitely aware that Heaven under its -er -most recent management has been noxious, but he sees himself as intrinsically good and that he can remake Heaven into what it "should" be. He is focused on goodness and light, but perhaps chooses to ignore his own deviations - lying, tempting and manipulating. B. Why Crowley kissed Aziraphale in the way he did. 1. Talking hadn't worked. 2. The last time Crowley grabbed Aziraphale by the lapels at the training centre, it focused Azi on what Crowley was saying and Azi didn't object. 3. Crowley knows that Aziraphale is very reactive to his senses - his love of beautiful things, good food, good wine, music, cologne, and that he touches Crowley when the moment calls for it. 4. Crowley knows what heaven is like and does not want to lose Aziraphale to its clutches. For me, this all adds up to one desperate last shot at bringing Azi to his senses (literally and figuratively) - Crowley wants to save him once again.

If you’re looking for a soundtrack to cry about the ineffable divorce, I recommend the newest Hozier album “Unreal, Unearth.” It’s so them coded. It came out a couple weeks after this season, which felt like some sort of conspiracy lol. There’s also a ton of edits already on TikTok and YouTube that are devastating. 😭 And there’s an endless trove of fanfic. You might be interested to know that Gabriel/Beez was actually a pretty popular side pairing in fanfic after season 1 (one of the ship names is Ineffable Bureaucracy 😆). Those characters didn’t even properly exist in the books so I guess Neil was like “why not, let them have a little fan service before we break their hearts.”

And the other question, it is believed that Aziraphale and Crowley are in some way Autistic ( especially Aziraphale ) and that this is the reason of their miss communications and not being clear to each other.

ad the hierarchy of angels - Gaiman has several tumblr posts commenting on it and it's even more confusing than you might think now! Essentially, the GO angelic hierarchy is Metatron>Important(tm) Archangels>less important (a?)Archangels>Aziraphale>angels less important than Aziraphale>angels much less important than Aziraphale. Now there are theories about which section Crowley belonged in pre-fall, some people championing the Archangel headcanon, others thinking the Ineffable Husbands are about comparable in hierarchy, but since Gaiman's also told us to just pick which hierarchy we like to follow (specifically referenced an article on 5 contradicting jewish hierarchies of heaven), there's no real way to know. Unless he tells us in season three for whatever reason, i guess.

Re: the kiss, Crowley has admitted that his knowledge of love comes in part from Richard Curtis films. So it is possible he just got some wrong ideas from Love, Actually about how you convince someone you love them. Normally he is much better about boundaries and consent than Aziraphale is, because he very strongly believes in Free Will.

I am really sorry for putting you through this but tbh it was nice to see that I wasn't the only complete wreck after it :D Also the good thing to it all is, that you watch it in a time periode where we already know there is going to be a third season. In which they seem to get an happy ending this time. When I watched it on release there was the writers strikes and stuff and it wasn't sure at all if we were ever going to get a third season. So at least thats decided by now. And when I remeber correctly they will start filming next year so hopefully it won't be too long. And I will be absolutely here to see Crowley be a resentful little mf and call Arziraphael "Supreme Archangel" with the most sarcastic undertone he has like he dereves it. Also I bet we are going to get the apology Dance from Arziraphael this time :D

This. This is why we love reactors. Bravo on this one! The whole series, really. You're invested, you took notes, you engaged with the fandom, and you put your raw emotions into this. It hurts, but genuine reactions like this are what's drawn us to your channel. And who knows? Maybe it'll give the trolls more fodder for TikTok videos to send more harassment and that sweet sweet engagement money your way. You were so close on the fly! So close! I had a hunch from episode 1 that Beelzebub was involved, but I couldn't figure the connection. I had the slightest inkling when they were being evasive with Shax, not directly responding with their intentions and reasons for seeking out Gabriel. But I was not expecting a Gabriel & Beelzebub endgame. Heaven covering up Gabriel's... defection (I guess?) in the interest of protecting their image is akin to what we see every day here. Establishments and institutions covering up the transgressions of their members, or silencing those who no longer believe in them. The belief being that the commoners will lose faith in these establishments is the inner turmoil were brought to light, rather than correcting course. That's the thing with claiming infallibility. Nothing and no one is. And claiming that you or your institution are is a huge red flag.

I personally like to drown myself in them which if you do that, read some fanfic and listen to Hozier's last album. I'm so glad and at the same time so sad that you're caught up now. I just wanted to give you the biggest hug 🫂 during those last 40 minutes of the reaction. The first time I binge-watched this season back in early august 2023, I couldn't sleep for the next 2 nights because of how this destroyed me 😭 Thank Muriel that my parents weren't back from vacation (I just got back from mine with friends when I watched it) until 2 days later because otherwise they would have think I was fucking crazy for crying that much for fictional characters x) Also, I think someone already said that but I believe that Azi's smile in the credits is either A) him forcing himself to smile and trying to keep it together in front of the Metatron or B) him thinking of a way to stop the Second Coming and going back to Crowley afterwards, one can hope it's the second option 🤞

Oh man. I always enjoy your reactions, but I was feeling so bad for you at several points. This is a prime example of why I wish people understood that emotional spoilers can be just as bad as detailed spoilers and are often worse. There’s no doubt the end of the episode would’ve been devastating, regardless, but at least you could’ve enjoyed the rest of it without the added anxiety the knowledge of ‘bad things to come’ caused. Anyway, aside from the anxiety, I really loved your reaction, especially to the Metajerk. I would highly recommend watching Staged. It really helped me in the early days after the breakup.

When I saw it the first time there was no Season 3 announcement and it drove me to heartbreak 💔 so take comfort in the knowledge that there will be a follow up. ❤️ Fanfics, fanart and the fandom have done so much to heal my shattered heart. I'm so sorry this is so rough. Character-wise, I get how they ended up at this point, but boy does it hurt so so bad. No exaggeration, I was an absolute wreck after this finale for weeks. I was so relieved to hear season 3 was confirmed, because ending on this note would have destroyed me. I think they'll find each other, but they (more Aziraphale, specifically) have some growing to do on their own before I think that can happen.

I’m sorry this was so upsetting for you. I was screaming profanities to the tv and Neil Gaiman, but also watching the end of this was how I knew he was planning a season 3, because this is a setup for a third act and a resolution. Everyone has their theories about what was really going on. Here’s mine. When Aziraphale is t telling the whole truth he gets very jumpy and hyper. Pretty much every time. He’s very jumpy and hyper when he tells Crowley the “good” news. But if you look at his face when the Metatron is telling it to him he looks distraught. I think he’s hiding something from Crowley to protect him, because that’s what they have always done. He sees some sort of threat in the offer (whether he was actually threatened or not) and he thinks going up to heaven is the best way to keep Crowley safe. He keeps looking out the window during the scene like he’s afraid the Metatron might be listening. He can’t help who he is. He’s a protector. He’s going to protect Crowley and the world even if it kills him.

I think after the miracle they performed (the 25 lazari), Metatron realized that together Crowley and Aziraphele are too powerful and his plans would have no chance with both of them against him, so he had to find a way to seperate them and played their weaknesses. He knows Aziraphele wants to help and we didn´t see the full conversation. When Metatron mentioned his unusual relationship with Crowley you could see fear in Aziraphele´s eyes and it had something threateny. So, both being angels again seemed Azirapheles best hope for both of them to be together and safe. But Metatron knew Crowley would never say yes. Then in the bookshop while Crowley confesses, Aziraphele looks afraid again (I think he knew or suspected Metatron was watching). It looked a bit like in the----no, before the beginning when Crowley asked about critisizing Gods plan, Aziraphele nervously looked over his shoulder as if afraid someone could hear. And I think even close to the elevator Aziraphele was hesitant, Crowley watching from his Bentley and waiting but after he heard about the Second Coming, he knew he had to go to be the man inside so they can fight Armageddon, Second Coming....whatever that way, although I think he will have a hard time convincing Crowley because he is in grief about Azirapheles rejection and the "I forgive you". That "I forgive you" was not the benevolent way he used in the past. Shortly before he says those nasty words it looks like he wants to say something else.....he starts to say something, then hardens and gives him the colder "I forgive you". I feel for both of them because I think both have their reasons for their actions. Problem is, they suck at communicating. I think consent would usually not be an issue. Crowley barely ever touches Aziraphele. Azi is the more touchy one. But the kiss was Crowleys "I saw it in the movies. One kiss and everything is understood" and his last hail mary to keep Azi.

Parts of that I suspect too....he looked so scared during Crowleys confession like he knew he was being watched. And I think the fact we didn´t see the whole conversation between Azi and Metatron plays a part. If the Metatron threatened Crowley however subtle Azi would go in protector mode. Like they both always do......they just never tell each other. They need counseling.

Oh, and the slip of the tongue from Azi when Crowley tells him that he rejected Hells proposal, always hurts so much. He says "Of course you said no. YOU are the bad guys!" instead of "they are the bad guys". I know Azi loves Crowley but that irked me......but religious trauma is a bitch and Azi has to grow and learn on his own a lot. But it will have a happy ending....they will find each other again......it may be a bunpy horror ride but they are going to make it.

I think GO, OFMD and Hannibal are the fandoms where I read the most fanfics.......like a questionable amount of fics but there are so darn good ones out there. My bookmarks and Mark for later fics are either signs of devotion or my autism and ADHD showing. Always these hyperfixations.

And that's why I wait to watch shows with you. I had a strange un-realized dread when season 2 dropped and I stopped watching after Episode 3. Thank you for making it safe to watch the rest! Crowley kiss for me was angry/petty. As in "You know what, I've wanted this for 4,000 years and now you're making me realize it will never happen. I'm going to stay here and be who I am and you'll call me a demon, so I'm taking what I want."

P.S.: When I saw The Metatron in the shop I was like ,,you seem familiar?" then I looked up who he was and saw that its Derek Jecobi and I lost my mind that him and David Tennant are in the same istablishment. I have every right to be suspicious about him. Right?

Gaiman said the kiss was not about sexual attraction (although it is love) but about Crowley showing all they’d lose by surrendering all that mortal lives have to offer. The singing of nightingales, books, true kindness, common touch. The kiss was the culmination of all more there is to experience and have on Earth that doesn’t exist in heaven. Which somehow makes it more tragic?

I just watched your S2 E5 react on YouTube and was so excited to see your reaction to the finale that I checked your Patreon to see if it was posted yet then saw that timestamp of two hours and thirty-two minute long react. If you want bittersweet: Pray for Us, Icarus (i think its rated T but theres nothing explicit) If you want really good story, The Sandford Flower Show (very small explicit part) If you want to be absolutely devastated, read the follow up Tabula Rasa If you want super smut, laugh out loud funny moments, and tears, read The Grindr Logo Doesn’t Even Have a G in It If you don’t mind AU, the absolute best fanfic is Slow Show, also Shotgun Wedding (What We Make of It) and Or Be Nice, all have explicit parts Mind you I was never into AU fics at ALL, these are just SO good You can also ask on the Good Omens After Dark subreddit for fics, smut or otherwise!

Hey there coming in a week late but what a wonderful reaction I'm so so sorry you had to go through all that but hey welcome to the other side with us! There's some FANTASTIC post s2 fics that you can now treat yourself to:) So a few things: Aziraphale doesn't know that Heaven cast Gabriel out because he tried to change things/say no. From his perspective it looks like they cast him out because of his relationship with Beelzebub. Crowley doesn't tell him about visiting heaven and finding that out (yet another not talking to each other moment). Gabriel and Beelzebub are also able to just leave because they don't care about earth AT ALL. Crowley keeps suggesting running away but Aziraphale keeps saying no because he wants to protect earth and he thinks that he will be able to do so by taking charge of Heaven. The answer is not that the institution can be fixed from the inside, and it isn't running away from the problem either, it's a secret third thing! That we will find out in s3:D

Also Aziraphale SHOULD know better than to think Crowley wants to be an angel again but I really do get why he thought it was a good thing. To me, Aziraphale doesn't think Crowley should've ever been made a demon so he wants to right that wrong. We saw him happy as the starmaking angel and we saw him get punished and tortured for doing something good while a demon. To Aziraphale, making him an angel is a way to keep him safe and allow him to be happy and do good without fear of punishment. Because even though they're on "their side" this season, we see how easily heaven and hell can still effect them and hurt them. It's a tough situation, they both are wrong about different things, but they'll get there. And all the angst will make it that much sweeter when they finally talk TO each other and not PAST each other and learn to listen before ending up officially together in the end<3

Hey, there is a theory that Crowley was an ArchAngel (given he was high enough to open the file) and if he was an Archangel that was sent down to hell, perhaps THAT is the institutional problem that they are talking about. They can’t have 2 arch angels dissenting into hell

I'm watching your reactions wayyyy late. I feel that Aziraphale wouldn't have gone back to haven if given a simple choice only for himself. I feel like the Metatron knowingly presented him with everything Aziraphale wanted: a Heaven that would be truly just and kind, a Heaven that would a safe, happy place... An eternity with Crowley, without fear that anybody would ever threaten them again. And happiness for Crowley. Because he remembers Crowley being happy creating his stars and his nebula. I think Aziraphale knew that Crowley wouldn't want to go back to Heaven as it is now, but he thought that he would create a Heaven worthy of their love. The Metatron used Crowley as bait, knowing Crowley would not take the offer. And the end, that weird smile... Option 1: They've erased Gabriels memories. Maybe those odd facial expressions are because they were erasing Aziraphale's memories in the elevator. Option 2: There was that odd miracle sound. Maybe the Metatron worked without the rest of Heaven knowing and somehow altered Aziraphale's thoughts, so he would be just the Metatron's puppet. Effectively installing himself as the highest power, beyond his role as the Voice, without anybody realizing. Option 3: The sound was not the Metatron's miracle, but Aziraphale's. Maybe Aziraphale is planning something to thwart the Metatron's plans, and that's why he's smiling. Maybe the miracle was him storing his memories somewhere, taking a leaf out if Gabriel's book. Option 4 (which I find unlikely): Crowley and Aziraphale had an emergency plan for something like this, so they were putting on an act, knowing that the Metatron was watching. But I refuse to believe that anything about Crowley's words and the kiss was staged.
