The reveal in this episode was NUTS! Also still loving the visuals they did with the stained glass panes for the flashbacks.

He wasn't a worshippers of the everlight but a different god. The satan character is the god he worshipped. Which is why pike said her god is nothing like his. the gods are exandria are split into 2 groups. The Prime Dieties of which the everlight, yhe Matron of Ravens and thr Dawn Father are members of and the Betrayer Gods which the Tormentor is one. During the calamity the 2 sides of gods fought each other over a thousand years. So yea Zerxus literally worshipped the devil.

UnluckyDragon

Fun fact: Zerxus was a player character in a mini-campaign Critical Role did to cover the start of the Calamity. They even got his player to come back and do his voice. Zerxus was a paladin (like Kima) and really did end up with the lord of torment in the game. He was made after Vox Machina’s game ended, so they changed it from a fire giant having the Dawnmartyr plate to Zerxus so they could weld the lore a bit together.

To be more clear, Zerxus decided to make a deal with the devil or Tormentor when the Calamity, a war between the "good" and "evil" gods broke out. In a shocking twist of faith the betrayer god betrayed him. More details occur as well and stuff but that's the gist. Now whether that's a fair comparison to the Everlight or not is unknown.

Out of the 4 3-part stories this bunch (Episode 4 to Episode 6) is the one that is the least emotion draining from the viewer. I cannot wait for future reactions to this show.

All I can say is that I’m glad that Pike wasn’t playing cards with Alastor. Because all know that it didn’t go well with Husk, so Pike wouldn’t have stood a chance. 🤣 Also, noticed when he said “We are his blood”. Delilah said that too in Season 1. Just something to keep in mind Morgan. 😏
