James Cameron said he prefers the Theatrical cuts, as those are his Director's cuts. Also they messed around with the ending in the extended edition. Perhaps not necessarily for the better.

I think probably the theatrical version is the one for you to watch IF it's the version most widely available to stream. I have the disc with all 3 versions so it won't matter to me.

So we heard! I usually don't overthink it too much when it comes to which version we choose to watch. With Aliens I saw a bunch of people recommending the Special Edition. But a different ending all together is a massive change in our opinion.

In my opinion it makes sense to do first time watching in a theatrical cut. As you'd normally do in a theatre. And then if you really like the movie, do any sort of extended, expanded, modified versions in subsequent viewings. Not just this movie, but in general.

I'm late to the party but yes theatrical version for sure, the other versions are simply unnecessary in my opinion, they don't advance the story in my opinion, asta la vista baby!
