The way the boys sat up once they knew Lee was about to take the weights off. That's probably one of the top moments for a lot of people for the original show. When people talk about the chunin exams, really they're just talking about this fight, for the prelims anyways.

i was talking shit about naruto and its obvious issues, but i have to admit, when they do it right, they do it right 👍 rock lee and guy are likable characters and their relationship is peak this whole talk about talent versus hard work reminds me of ping pong the animaiton, and is a trope that is so enjoyable the watch, when done right.

What are you guys thoughts on the show so far, now that we’ve hit the first “peak” moment in the anime? Do you think it was worth the wait? As someone whose first anime as a kid was dbz on adult swim, which is the epitome of slow build up, drawn out fights, and talking shit rather than fighting and action only, I find naruto to be a little more enjoyable than most people because I’m patient enough to wait it out, but from the perspective of someone whose first animes were aot, jjk, demon slayer, etc. i would think it would be a little more grueling to watch. And don’t get me wrong, there are higher peak moments than this within the show, but this is the first one people identify as iconic.

Same naruto actually was on tv while I was growing up. I didn’t love it as much as my brother did. But then dragonball z kai was on Nickelodeon and I found myself falling in love with it. Even the slow old anime quality was fine for me. After that I went back into naruto and it was soo freaking good. Shippuden definitely picks up but Naruto where it all started so u gotta appreciate it.

Yeah its just a taste thing. Dragon ball is one of my favorite animes due to a combination of things, nostalgia beings one of them, but people who watch mostly new gen stuff will see the show differently. The problem comes when people who have or havent seen both styles of anime try to rate them above or below one another. Its like trying to compare the og iphone to the 15, or the original macintosh to today’s computers

This was 4 episodes man, thats 1:20 of watch time just for naruto not including all the others shows they watch. The last couple of naruto uploads its been two episodes each, I think 4 episodes in one drop is plenty enough. The geks aren't gonna sit on a couch reacting to stuff for 8 hours a day, thats just exhausting and of course they have there own personal life's as well

You're comparing the pacing of them both between two drastically different moments in a story, the build up of a prologue moment to a series finale lol
