First comment!! Best trilogy ever, so glad you guys are watching

Marcos

I thought the surprise was one piece lol 🥲

W

My bro used to watch this all the time. His nickname is sam

Bradlynn Christensen

I’ve been thinking about smeagol nonstop since this… 🥺🥺

Mason Schutz

Oh fine I guess I’ll go to the gym later. 😤

Ben Everest

Personal favourite movie in the trilogy

Mr. Diddlez

This is my all time favorite... Beyond hyped all time great movie !!

LuvStarburst

How many juicy and rizz words are we getting in this one lol.

Paris

GOAT

Melizé

YESSSSSSSSSSSS

TheSauceGuy

I'm enjoying rewatching these much more than I thought I would.

Melizé

W upload 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

TheSauceGuy

and "they're so cute" lmao. Their apology at the start makes me feel like some people actually got upset by it though lol.

Abel Nunez

Let's fucking goooo!

ssj4rit

Addie (sorry if I spelt ur name wrong) but I need to know, have you read these authors: Brandon Sanderson Robin Hobb GRRM Scott Lynch Joe Abercrombie

Cannon Andrus

Sam’s monologue at the end is absolutely perfect

TheSauceGuy

The extended version is cool and considering how long the movies are, I don't think that additional time would deter many people that wouldn't already be deterred. I don't mind either way though, I love this series.

TheSauceGuy

I've also never seen any of the Fast & Furious movies, but you guys have to watch Indiana Jones lol.

Elle B.

My fav of the trilogy tbh! Seeing it in theaters at age 11 changed my life. Lol

Paris

Carter is not as bald as I expected 😔

Bradlynn Christensen

This is Addie off Bradlynn’s account! I haven’t read much of those authors yet, but I have read some!

Kite

don't listen to the comments, say all you want, we are here for genuine reactions 🫡

Scinaps

First time I watched Fellowship when it came out in the cinema I got so upset at Gandalfs death my dad went and read the books just to comfort me with the good news 🥹

John Ferreira

Unpopular opinion, and as someone with a Stephen Colbert type of love for everything Middle-Earth, PLEASE watch Return of the King in the theatrical version. The uncut version is the best for lovers of the universe, while the theatrical is better for first-time watchers in my opinion.

Melizé

Aragorn kicking the helmet 😭🥺 like Cannon said, iykyk

sean reading

God is good, Gek posted

Harper

I’m sorry, but this is the best movie in the saga

alee

Crying @ "he looks like a barnacle" alkdaskdjsdaasd

Frank Francis

@Kite It's weird to say to not read the comments since we are paying for this. Bradlynn and Addie, just be yourselves and remember that most of the time, less is more

GreetswithJudgement

Such a great movie! Eomer is so cool! And Faramir is underrated!

Ray

Carter's wife is amazing and very funny! Guys bring her back on some GOT episodes. Congrats on ur weeding guys 🧡

Frank Francis

I pay for it and I can give my opinion. You discarding other comments isn't the way to go

Kite

I pay for it too, and gave my opinion too. you don't decide what's the "way to go"

Frank Francis

Have a great evening, we don't need to waste more of our time on this useless interaction. Enjoy want you want to enjoy and comment want you want, and I will do the same

Blackeyedlily

Several times I heard some of you urging for the death of a character. Please remember Gandalf’s words of wisdom from the first movie. “Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. For even the very wise cannot see all ends.” This was of course when Frodo said that he wished Bilbo had killed Gollum when he had a chance. And Gandalf tells Frodo that he senses that Gollum has a role to play “for good or ill” before the end. This is one of Gandalf’s most iconic quotes, and it is words I think the audience should also take to heart.

Frank Francis

It's nice to see that you guys take constructive comments at heart and change/improve how you interact during these watchings. There was a clear improvement :)

Mr. Diddlez

Helms deep and The elves arriving has been and will be hands down my favorite scene of any movie ever. As a kid seeing these bros with an epic horn and baller armor got me so hyped! Great vid ❤️

PS

Why did they get these Forest Gump haircuts, what bet did they lose?

Kite

RIP Bernard Hill 😔

Zechree

I’m so excited to watch this, you guys all rock! I love Cinema Saturdays!

Sean Carroll

Gonna have to do a rizz counter given last weeks plethora of the word

Zechree

These comments seem more wholesome than last time. Love to see it.

Ray

Many things coming..., you guys in for a ride still 👀🫣😂 come back for some Got, I'd love to see ur reactions!

Zechree

Addie knows all about the cosmere just not the United States of America. Jk <3

Ernesto Blanco

Saruman could not handle Gandalf's new drip when he dropped the cloak 1:03:19 HAHAHA

Paul Durbin

No extended 😔

Blackeyedlily

If any of you are not familiar with actor who plays Saruman, Sir Christopher Lee, you should check out his life story. There are a couple of excellent videos on YouTube about him. In addition to the fact that he is the only one of the cast who met Tolkien in real life, his entire life is absolutely fascinating. From his childhood to his death, just a couple of years ago, in his 90s, he was constantly active and involved in some fascinating and historic events.

Gracie

The girls are amazing

Neil Patel

I really appreciate this comment and what it highlights. It's lines like these, and how earnestly they are delivered transcends it from just being a story that you watch and then move on from. If you take the time to really listen to what Tolkien is saying through the dialogue of the characters the lessons and wisdom they impart really stick with you.

Micah Seer

I love brig, but I’m so glad the girls are here because they are hard carrying these reactions. Love their thoughts and insights in the discussion. Genuinely cannot wait for the finale and 2 of my 3 favorite speeches of all time!!

Micah Seer

They really are, they have brought so much emotion and great energy into these videos. Hope they are around more in the future

Carrie

Fr, he might be one of the most interesting people to ever live. I feel like I read somewhere that his life may have partially inspired the character James Bond?? Then he spent some of his last few years recording heavy metal concept albums about Charlemagne, who was also his ancestor 😭😭 absolute legend lol

Enma

That flashback of Boromir and Faramir taking backing Osgiliath should've been in the theatrical cut and not just the extended edition, since it shows their relationship with their father, and is also crucial for the development of Boromir's character.

DerekSniper30

15:48 McKay catching the hardest strays lol

Bradlynn Christensen

guys I wasn’t kidding I’m naming my first kid shadowfax, rewatching that scene made me tear up again, I love Gandalf so much 😭😭😭😭😭

DerekSniper30

"If you know, you know"

Tina L

It would be so cool and a lot of fun to do a book club for The Lord of the Rings!

ian

“He’s like McKay” is insane lmaooo

Shadow

Yea some people don’t know how to be respectful about criticism sadly

Enma

One thing I really enjoy about this story is the theme of industrialization. Saruman represents the push for modernization and advancement at the expense of nature and life. Someone who has become corrupt from unchecked power. The Orcs and Uruk Hai represent workers who lost all individual and are completely obedient. Destroying the land and themselves for the sake of production of weapons and machinery. Just shows how Tolkien really felt about the industrial age and how it destroyed what he loved most.

Neil Patel

There's so much going on at 1:15 when Sam and Frodo are talking about Smeagol. Sam is just talking about how Smeagol is fallen and cares about nothing but the ring, but the whole time you can see in Frodo's eyes that he feels he is walking down the same path that Smeagol did, and definitely is afraid he's going to end up just like that. So when he says "I have to believe he can come back" he's also referring to himself, hoping his life is not doomed the same fate.

Seth Aasland

just bought a magic the gathering lord of the rings commander deck today, and now i’m watching this with some ice cream. best day off ever

Bri-Ana Monique

This one is my favorite forsure

Carrie

Looks like meat’s back on the menu, boys!! 😈👨🏻‍🍳🥩🍴

Kreis

Now comes my favorite LotR part of the trilogy and also one of my all time movie favorites~❤️

Agent September

I think the pacing of this movie is much better than the first since its split between 2 story lines

Carrie

“Is Gollum CGI?” I’m so glad you asked! 🤓 Bradlynn, not only is Gollum CGI, but the VFX team and Andy Serkis (Gollum’s actor) basically revolutionized how motion capture is used in live action. Nothing of this quality had ever been done. I highly recommend watching some bts clips of Serkis acting out the scenes & creating the physicality of the character, it’s wild. Gollum paved the way & set the standard for iconic characters portrayed with mo-cap like Davy Jones, Caesar, Thanos, King Kong, the Na’vi in Avatar movies, etc. By the time the technology advanced even more, Serkis played Caesar in the Apes movies & he was seen as a mo-cap pioneer. He even founded a production studio that specializes in mo-cap work. I cannot overstate how influential these movies were on digital effects technology! They were like the Star Wars of the 2000s in this regard

PS

I am not a LotR fan but the second movie was the most boring of the 3, it's too verbose, a lot of talking with the hobbits and Gollum. The first movie was interesting with the introduction to the world, and the third movie was predictable. I am not surprised the Hobbit franchise didn't do well.

Mattchu

Thank you so much for making great content🙏

Shadow

Andy serkis is so intertwined with the revolution of mo cap. All his roles are so crazy good

TheSauceGuy

Our only wish, to catch a fish, so juicy-sweet! Faramir screwed with poor Smeagol's brain at the worst moment.

Max Demian

Juicy upload

ElBee

I’m with you Carter, Fellowship is my favourite too.

TheSauceGuy

Those are not horses, they are bulldozers, damn.

Dev

Carter and Cannon look so alike with the buzzed heads

Fatipapi

The hobbits the hobbits the hobbits the hobbits, to Isengard to Isengard! 🎶

Super Novice

Sam’s speech has me in shambles everytime

LuvStarburst

all the men with Eomer when Aragorn first met him were women, not men. Also, Legolas and Gimli's friendship are goals.

C2-H5-OH

As is tradition, that scene at 32:00 where Aragorn kicks the helmet and screams, the actor actually broke his toe on the metal helmet, and his scream of pain is real.

Kim555

perfect time to share this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sj2yL_I_wM&t=3s&ab_channel=LankyLuke

Fatipapi

If only you got the "You cant sleep when enemies are nearby" pop up in real life

bondbond53

I've not even watched these films but from the thumbnail I just gotta say Carter's wife is sooo pretty!!

Fatipapi

The Gimli Mckay comparison 💀

Fatipapi

HAHAHA i was hoping someone would say something when Aragorn kicked the helmet 😂😂 proud of you Cannon for upholding the tradition

Fatipapi

Growing up is realising Pip is a piece of shit lol

Juniper

”Give it to us…RAW!” Damn didnt know Smeagol was freaky like that 😩💦

tp

He lost the who wore it better war 😞

tp

My switch up on Smeagol was so fast when I watched this movie, he's my little baby

Kwisatz

Booo, someone must have told Adie (sp?) to tone down the Gen Z slang. I thought it was funny. Stupid sexy Gandalf. Up next... Return of the Rizzler

Shay Kumar

Most of them were female actors** in the movie they're all male warriors yes. But as horseriders the production team found more skilled female horseback riders and did all their makeup including gluing on beards to make them appear as men 🥲 so epic

Shay Kumar

Tears don't scare us! We're all here for the authenticity of your reactions. All emotions are welcome and encouraged 🤘🏽🙌🏽

Shay Kumar

Also never seen any of f&f! I wonder what the hype is all about

Fatipapi

Awww Addie's big teary eyes when Gandalf pops up 🥹🥹 < literally this emoji

Fatipapi

Naming your kid Shadowfax is wild 😂😂

Fatipapi

Grima is Snape on Fentanyl

Dev

You guys really should read the books!

MateoP

Good your not missing a lot with Fast n furious besides maybe the first three 🤣

Elias Tellman

I strongly disagree, my brother showed me these movies for the first time in extended edition and I loved them.

Gabriel Machuca Wegermann

One of the few criticisms I have about the trilogy, especially in this movie, is how Gimli was reduced to mostly comic relief, when in the books he was one of the most dignified characters and had way more depth. It kinda hurts constantly seeing him be the butt of the joke.

Gabriel Machuca Wegermann

A bit of context: Out of all beings in middle earth (not counting orcs, I believe), Men are the only ones that are actually mortal. Other races can die, sure, but their soul always remains in that plane of existence, they are just transported to other lands. For example, the "west" the elves are currently migrating to is the place where they would go to if they died regardless, they are just freely choosing to go there for the rest of eternity. Dwarves, when they died, are also transported to a wolrd just for them. In the case of Men, nobody really knows where their souls go when they die, not even the Valar (basically the realm of gods of Tolkien lore), so they live with complete uncertainty over what happens if they die, just like we have uncertainty over life after death in our own world. When it comes to Aragorn's relationship with Arwen, Aragorn could choose to relinquish his mortality and become an elf, just like Elrond did (which is why he is called the half-elf), but he chooses not to out of a sense of loyalty and duty towards Men, whom are in great need of a strong leader, even though Aragorn was basically raised as an elf. That speaks volume of his character, as is not what most men would choose. In this context, Elrond's position as a father of not wanting her daugher to become a mortal is justified, as in that way he would never be able to see her again for the rest of eternity after she passes away of old age. Sorry for the long text lol.

Carrie

Brig was asking about the Edoras buildings & if they used CGI to add them in after filming at a real location. I just did some googling & Carter’s right, it’s all real & it took 9 months to build those sets on the mountain 🤯

Juniper

The girls: ”Gandalf so juicy!” The boys: ”Wow that’s some nice water” 😂😂

Sean Carroll

He said return of the king is his favourite but he prefers fellowship to two towers

tp

If you're taking movie suggestions, the Avatar (James Cameron) movies if you haven't seen them yet

Mysterious Figure

You really made my day with this so thank you. ❤️❤️ I love how the girls are bringing so much to these reactions and I wish you bring them to more shows. I like how they elaborate a lot about why and what they think about the characters and the story while Jack and McKay barely said a word the whole movie so the girls are definitely bringing the energy 😁 I wish Jack and McKay would overall just talk a bit more about what they think of the shows you watch. Oh and Im right there with you Carter on those Sam scenes. Those punch me in the gut so hard too.

Ben Everest

I can see why tbh can get a bit slow but god the battle with the balrog, Rohan and Shadowfax, Karl urban, Vigo breaking his toe and Heilmsdeep are peak

Ben Everest

Great comment, elrond was always a half elf, he choose his elf half gaining immortality while his brother choose the path of man and founded the numenor

Tim Moore

The second movie in theaters absolutely smashed, will forever be my favorite, the nostalgia tilts it over the return of the king for myself.

LuvStarburst

Aragon is 87 years old

Miguel

Sam's speech in this movie really solidifies him as my favorite character and makes it my favorite movie out of the triology, also jack's gollum impression is scarily good lmao

JaJa

Don't come for me but...is this the first LOTR movie? I've never seen any in my 29 years of life 😅

Griff

They only built the main building, and then a few background shacks. The landscape shots most of the smaller houses are CGI

Griff

Scenes just seem so weird without it being the extended version ahah,

Griff

Blame the studio, adding just a few more minutes to this would have given theaters less cycles, less cycles, less money.

Griff

Yo Brig, ur blockin the homies, trying to see bradelyns reactions!!

Enma

I understand what you mean, but the final cut rights were given to Peter Jackson, and the studio never interfered with his cut. New Line knew that the movies were going to be a success and even increased the budget after seeing a preview. If they wanted more cycles, they could've extended the time it was in theaters.

Griff

The pace of the theatrical is definitely better for first time watchers imo. Too much info to absorb in the extended, it can make people feel overwhelmed

LuvStarburst

The good thing about you guys watching the base versions is that it makes me realize why I love the extended versions so much. I applaud the girls for chilling on their favorite words but it felt weird not hearing it when Legolas did his "juicy" moves lol. I can't wait for them to experience the 3rd movie.

Carrie

oooh ok that sounds more practical lol still impressive tho!

Shadow

I kept thinking I was missing scenes but they are just from the extended version😂

Warrington

Holy this is content I go away to Poland for the weekend theres such a mega amount of content to catch up on :D

Taüriøn

Has anyone watched the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina? Éowyn is Aunt Zelda!

JulioLG

I think fellowship is way more appreciated on the first rewatch because you already know and love the characters, besides its movie quality of course.

Patrick

"Why is he leaving then?" Literally after Gandalf said why he leaves. Not saying the reactions haven been taken down a peg lately, but I'm certainly not enjoying them as much anymore.

Valerie

Legolas and Gimli are definitely more fleshed out in the books.

Sasha

They're taking the hobbits to Isengard. Also Carter almost got caught lacking in the end. Like in the first movie also.

Sasha

Mushroom Girl said "juicy" like zero times. So W reaction video.

andrés

This is the 2nd out of the trilogy. The Geks have their reaction up already for the first one (LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring). Each of the trilogy movies also have an 'Extended Edition' that adds a fair amount of good scenes for lore, character development/background, etc that are def worth the watch if you like the base movies/world.

Ivan Flores

the first movie is still locked on mine 🥲 please unlock if you could, kindly

Chris Daniel

Maybe someone else said it, or maybe yall already know. When Aragon kicked the helmet next to the big pile of bodies, around 30 minutes into this video, Vigo broke his toe or part of his foot. His scream was actual pain, but they kept the take in. I'm almost sure, but small chance its a myth. 🤣

LawL

W Cannon, not watching the Extended Editions is a crime man. They put so much work into these movies and the Extended Editions add a lot of not only cool scenes but some that provide context which probably never should've been cut from the theatrical releases.

Griff

Where is the return of the king?????

Ivan Flores

i’ve commented about this like 6x on other videos and know the poll and still nothing 😅

Scinaps

When do we get to see the return of the king with Aragorn the Rizzler and Gandalf the juicy 😉😆

Scinaps

Let's hope they'll watch the extended versions on their 2nd watch through by themselves at least

Scinaps

It's in the making of as well as in the actors commentary track. It happend. Aragorn actor broke a toe and Legolas actor cracked a few ribs. They still ran through those hills like beasts.

Ivan Flores

can i plz get the first movie unlocked!? this is like my 8th comment about this. this movie is unlocked but the fellowship is locked on my account. i want to watch them in order and i’ve been waiting over a week for this to be resolved

SlamboHamburg

Jack's hands got roasted 😂

Griff

So did I miss something where they said Return of the King would be delayed?

Caleb Clarke

I’m having troubles accessing the first movie and don’t know where else to post, I have access to this movie but the first is still locked and asks me to upgrade my membership. Ive been looking forward to watching it and was waiting hoping it would be fixed but so far no luck.

Pandemic Warfare

@2:18:25 idk how you guys missed that Wilhelm scream, it's one of the loudest! Hilarious moment 😂

George

Same here, the LOTR series is why I became a patron

Mia Ellis

Hey I have the same comment as some others, became a member to watch LotR reactions but the first film isn't available for some reason?? Can this be addressed ASAP??

Ivan Flores

surely they will watch the hobbit movies next right???

Ivan Flores

so addie replaced juicy and rizz with “true” 😂 i mean i guess it’s better but it was more about volume being the issue

Ivan Flores

i commented about this and all they were able to do was lock the video and unlock again. it’s only happening on the first film. mine unlocked finally but they reached out to me and told me they can’t specifically lock or unlock specific channels

Sweede TW

32:00 i know

Kosumi

idk exactly who the man in the middle of this video is, but he was so locked in starting from 1:25:48 until around the 1:40:00 minute mark. That's basically 15 minutes of complete, uninterrupted, engagement and frankly this movie deserves it
