Code geass red wedding 🔥🔥🔥

Shadow

So glad y’all decided to watch this anime. I think it’s truly one of the best. One of the first I’ve ever watched and has remained a favorite. I almost didn’t watch it to cuz of the mechs💀

Grim Reaper

Absolute cinema

Mia Malvik

This part is so fire

Shadow

Couldn’t believe my eyes my first watch thru😂

Jake R

Watch the last three episodes at once!!

Kreis

Damn, I'm almost finished with my second rewatch and boys... THERE ARE sooo soo much more awesome episodes to come! I had forgotten a lot of episodes/scenes because it was long ago I saw it last time. I'm so surprised at how good this show is! Peak Geass

Nash

YESSSSSSSSS

Zechree

dang I forgot how wild episode 22 is.

ash

i haven't even watched this yet and im already laughing at anticipating ur reactions to episode 22 LMAO. i watched geass for the first time when i was 11 and after ep 22, i literally had to take a few days before being able to continue the show lol

ssj4rit

Imagine living all your life as a good and loving person and then some string bean ass Batman looking mf hypnotizes you and your good name is tarnished forever in history 😔

Ale

🔥🔥

Brig Andrus

That was diabolical 😫

PsychoPass WaintingRoom

This is almost as good as first time I saw this.. I was so young it shook me to my core, soooo good...

Kesendo

Alright, I have to see their reaction to this insane episode 😂

Age of Knox EOSTAB

Yeah this messed me up my first time watching it. Took a day to recover

Jeff

One of the most unfortunate episodes of anime for sure😭

bondbond53

This right here is anime history

DontFailArtSchoolEren

Leave it to Lelouch to say the most crazy thing to Euphy that goes against everything shes fighting for to prove how utterly oppressive his geass power is.

CoolCasey

We love to see it.

Tubasmitty2

I'm glad everyone kept talking about the season finale, leaving episode 22 as the gut punch it was meant to be.

Kreis

McKays reaction in E22 is sooo peak and funny haha haven't seen such a good reaction from him in a long time

James Moss

This and the red wedding are the two episodes I've seen where I've felt a sense of incoming dread when something seemingly good is happening. It's such a crazy escalation of events lol. Some people criticize this episode, or even hate it, because they feel like it's too coincidental and contrived, but it's such a crazy twist and the show executes the feeling of dread so well it doesn't even bother me that the timing and the specific joke is completely unlucky and nothing more. This show really is the most unpredictable show ever and stays that way all the way through. Also, Jack and McKay having such expressive reactions tells you that it's a truly shocking moment haha.

Philbo

i was literally waiting for you guys to get to episode 22. your reactions were all priceless, such a tragic episode

~Mercedeez Lee~

Finally get to see their reaction to episode 22

Ryan Pebeck

Im hearing Usopp references from the boys now. One Piece Bros we made it.

DontFailArtSchoolEren

Code Geass hired like 2 people to create this show... William Shakespeare to write a revenge story about an exiled prince willing to do anything to defeat Britannia and the Royal Family and hired some eccentric anime guy who wants to throw cat episodes and random nudity and pizza and school life to keep it truly unpredictable.

Nico

Always love to watch peoples reaction to ep 22. Peak fiction peaked. But the way this is not even the best episode yet.

ash

i feel like ep 22 really highlights how different lelouch is from light. there's no way light would have ever been that distraught and in tears over making someone kill others lol

Sean Carroll

I was never the biggest fan of code geass overall compared to most people but this episode is insane and peak

DontFailArtSchoolEren

"Dont mistake borrowed power for your own ability!" Lelouch doesnt have a God complex like Light and he loves his sister willing to do anything for her and find out what happened to his beloved mother.

ash

that line was a bar fr.. it really defines his values

Starkfern

Please watch the last 3 episodes together 😭😭

BigManSirob

You'd never be able to guess this but the first season of Code Geass was actually made on a VERY low budget. This was because the studio had almost no faith in it due to it not being based on any source material and not having "wide appeal". The only reason this was able to be made was because of the strong passion from the creative team. Also, I'm deadass when i say this the reason that pizza plays such a big part in this anime is because one of the main ways they were able to get money was through a sponsorship deal with PIZZA HUT 😭😭. Like you can actually see the logo in a few episodes lmao. Anyway, other than reusing animation for the opening visuals, you literally would never be able to tell. It's honestly just a testament to the show's quality.

Ale

Man, all your comments about Euphy before the 22 were so hard bc I knew this episode will shock you guys... When I first watched it I wanted some anime magic to happen so she could fight it but nope 🥲

AceWing_AJ

Man, I've been waiting for this one haha

Enma

Even though Euphy has good intentions and is probably one of the few characters in this anime who is "morally good" and hasn't done anything wrong, her plan for the designated zone in Japan was never going to work. The designated zone is a non-violent way to segregate the Japanese population from the Britannians even further than it already is. This would only strengthen the control Britannians have over them and prevent any sort of rebellion or outbreak. As Schneizel mentions in the episode, the plan was essentially a way to suppress any rebellion and weaken Zero's forces and his support from Japanese civilians. It's too idealistic and too naive, she is disregarding the possibility that the plan would deepen existing conflicts, increase resentment, and be used as a means of further control and suppression. Failing to consider how such a plan would be exploited by a ruthless and powerful force like Britannia. Her naivete is a reflection that having good intentions alone cannot overcome such deep-rooted and an ingrained oppressive system of power.

Sanji

Got, code geass, and haikyuu in one day… spread them out im overwhelmed in dopamine 🥴

Sean

Forgot about this episode title spoiler. BTW that's gonna happen a LOT in one piece.

Cookie

peak episode

hollow soul

thank god for this after that haikyuu garbage

Emmanuel

I had watched season 1 partway through a long time ago but never finished it. It's been a while since I've caught up to where I had left off and watching blind with you guys now. And after episode 22 all I can say is... NO FUCKING WAY, WHAT THE FUCK.

Beeg

It's interesting that you guys think the special zone for Japan was going to pan out to me. I think Euphemia's plan would have basically resulted in the Marley-Eldians situation. Euphemia had good intentions but it would've reinforced Brittania's rule and basically put the Japanese into a slightly nicer prison - maybe they would have some better rights than they do now, but they would still be discriminated against and not free. Even if it's peaceful during Lelouch and Euphemia's lifetime I doubt it would be much better after they're gone.

Sanji

It just gonna get more and more and more dramatic starting from here 🔥

Beeg

yea, even if it remained relatively peaceful it would only last during Euphemia and Lelouch's lifetime anyways. They'd still be discriminated against and they would still be under Britania. I think Lelouch only agreed due to sentimental reasons because it's hard to imagine him not being able to think this through

Enma

Yeah, Lelouch said he already thought of it but it was nothing but an empty dream. I agree he only accepted it due to sentimental reasons. He saw Euphy as someone who genuinely and selflessly cares about others and particularly his sister, Nunally and even gave up her claim to the throne. Due to those reasons, he accepted, and maybe he feels like his options/ideas have grown since he’s working alongside Euphy and by extension Britannia.

Michael

Y'all gotta watch the last 3 together

Brianna Tsao

Please watch the last three together if possible. It’s like an hour long movie finale. Shit is actually insane

Brianna Tsao

I remember seeing this moment for the first time in high school. Good times! :)

G

U guys got to watch last three together 🙏🏾

Sanji

Last 4 would have been ideal but last 3 IS A MUST. Watching s1e25 and s2ep1 together will atrociously kill the vibes 😭

Ari

Code Geass is one of those anime i binged when i got bored in OP. Then i go back to OP when it becomes heavy to my heart lol. Just sharing. And yes, this last ep is so good but soooo depressing i hate it.

Artemipsyche

What happened to Euphy makes me SICK. Best episode in the show though imo

Isabella Anderson

I have to agree with the chorus: 23,24 and 25 together is a must

Robert

You one of those who gotta shit on something for no reason huh. You could just be happy with the drop without saying something negative

Zed

I love when everyone sits up.

Dude Man McGee

The moment we've been waiting for.

Senbu Johns

This is where the real Code Geass starts

brog.

great inclusion of the jack clip at the end

Ali

Euphy who tries to resist it just before it completely takes over... is just... never not heartbreaking.

Joshua Lederman

Fire reaction, you guys have to watch last 3 episodes together

Matthew Valentine

I agree with Brig, Death Note is incredible but I watched it when I was 12 when it came out and was comprehending most of the nuance just fine. This definitely feels like a more layered, less edgy/emo death note (with mechs).

brog.

the boys have come around on peak… next is naruto and my agenda is complete

brog.

Carter been on it, Cannon commenting that it’s unreal, McKay commenting that he loves it, Brig saying he likes it… I used to pray for times like this…

Renaldo Allard

This is just warming up i promise season 2 is a fucking W

Renaldo Allard

It’s up ‼️‼️‼️‼️now boys

Renaldo Allard

This show is unpredictable don’t take your eyes of the screen read every line cuz if you do you gunna miss important details

Sanji

This but for one piece. They are loving one piece rn and they are only in east blue 😭

Beeg

I've heard theories that this is also why this is the moment his geass becomes out of control. Some people theorize that his contract with C.C. consists of him walking a bloody, lonely path to achieve his ideals (and also doing something else which is obviously a massive spoiler so I won't type it out). So the moment he deviated from the path and settled for less was the moment he lost control. I don't think this is something we know for sure but it's interesting to think about

Artemipsyche

I’m so mad I have to wait for the other episodes 😭

Asbjørn Kennedy

“Don’t mistake borrowed power for your own ability” is great foreshadowing that something was about to go terribly wrong with his Geass😅

Enma

Wow, I've never heard of this theory before. It's definitely an interesting one. "Lelouch is destined or contracted to walk a bloody and lonely path to get what he desires." I can see how this makes sense. In order to achieve his goal, he must sacrifice a lot in return for the geass's power. And the geass is forcing him to stay on this dangerous and narrow path, by creating these moral dilemmas in order for him to stay on the path and to repay his "debt". Which he must do alone, carrying burden after burden, losing pieces of his humanity along the way.

DepressedSoggyWaffle

I watched this episode for the first time in middle school and died lmao

Richie Sour

This is one of those episodes that made me just sit in my room for like an hour staring at my wall I was dumbfounded 😭 to this day it’s a tough watch knowing what happened

Herber

This two last episodes ate knowing that was gonna happen made me choke up

olivia

Last 3 have to go together.

yio

bro I felt sick for like the whole episode cause I knew what was coming... I'm tearing up man. Everything could've been perfect...

DepressedSoggyWaffle

This. The biggest tragedy is that Euphemia’s special zone would have simply been another display of euphemistic racial discrimination, similar to the title of ‘honorary Britannian’. I’ve always theorized that her name is a nod to this fact. While her intentions were pure hearted, they were naive. Self identity allowed by others doesn’t truly belong to the self. To imply that someone’s self identity and autonomy are privileges that can be given or taken on whim, and are even limited to a physical parameter, is both patronizing and demeaning.

Enma

Yes, well said. If it can be given or taken away, was it truly yours to begin with? I also like the connection you made with her name and euphemism, since the zone masks the true nature/reality of what it really is.

Dontsop Keran

I think it’s better than having your neighborhood gunned down every week ngl

Animeke

Euphy trying to resist the Geass knowing that it's taking over her mind is so sad, I cried so hard the first time I watched this scene. If LeLouch didn't lose control of his Geass, the show could've ended here.

Matt Haloostock

Love the Jack call out at the end lol. But seriously, this is probably my least favorite episode in the whole show. Euphie didn't deserve that

Freedom

That’s Jeremiah, he’s now a cyborg!

Freedom

I kinda wondered how Lelouch would compromise for the specially administrated zone, because i think he can literally do anything with his geass and still obliterate britannia, and his willingness to compromise just shows how much he loves Nunnaly, but alas, they just went to this path of destruction, and as Cannon and Carter said of course the nicest and sweetest person in the show becomes a mass murderer, my heart sank to the floor the first time i watched this

Zipzzty

Man this one of them episodes that made code geass go from great too PEAK what an episode feel so bad for all the japanese and euphy cause she’s so good hearted
