Personally loving that the reactions to where we are now in OP compared with Naruto is that the guys are having a way better time. OP has such a vibe that just sucks you in and everything fits. Where sometimes Naruto felt so clunky.

Was honestly bracing myself for more criticism, but glad ya'll are enjoying it so far! Although one piece has its epic moments, I feel like a lot of enjoying one piece is appreciating the small heart warming moments and interactions/relationships with the crew which y'all seem to get. Usopp's arc is one of the lower rated ones, but still excited to see the next reaction video! PS: I know Luffy's power seems kinda dumb, but Oda wanted Luffy to have a silly but powerful power that would make fights amusing even when things get serious sometimes. Pretty fitting for our simpleminded MC don't ya think? 😂

Why dont you guys just watch One Pace instead? No more recaps, and just feels like a smoother watch. And later on the pacing goes to shit in this. One Pace does a decent job at fixing that. IMO its gonna be much more enjoyable for you guys :)

They don’t need one pace yet. The pacing is perfectly fine in early op, they actually adapt 3-4 chapters an ep which is great! It really isn’t till about ep 500 that I would def recommend one pace.

@Rayanh no i don’t think so. One pace just removed filler and non-canon contents. Dressrosa more specifically, it’s such a good story but the Toei anime ruined the watching experience. And it’s definitely not like what ☝🏻says. Basically its just each episode is several minutes shorter.

@Poragami When people talk about one piece fillers, they're referring to how the show adds extra scenes and slows down the pacing to avoid catching up to the manga. In that sense, one piece has a lot of fillers.

Used to think stuff like Evangelion, HxH and AoT had the best world building in anime, but re-reading the manga I’ve hopped on the bandwagon that One Piece is the best (not counting Berserk). The further you get into the adventure of OP, the more you see little pieces start to fit together in a pretty epic way. You can really tell Oda planned out a lot of this shit in advance and knew where he wanted things to go. The fights are more Looney Tunes compared to how psychological other Shonen are, but a lot of the later battles reach its own peak within the logic of the universe. Admittedly, the anime is a super slow cook and cheap in the beginning like Naruto, but you’ll get to see how the production ramps up over the decade which will be fun. The peaks will arrive someday lol

The wisdom to switch to One Pace for certain arcs is very very good. I love One Piece but never bothered watching it because of the abysmal pacing later on. I sincerely hope you guys keep loving this show because it's one of my favorite stories out there.

i hope one pace doesnt come up in every reaction vid and comment section lol. as much as i agree that certain arcs drag wayyyy too long and benefit from one pace there are also great moments and extra fight scenes that were added as 'filler' in the anime and therefore get cut from one pace. its a double edged sword so i think its important to keep that in mind if yall decide to watch one pace for some arcs!

I really love the voice actress for Luffy, Mayumi Tanaka. She brings so much life, personality, and charm to the character. The unique sounds she adds, her use of inflections on certain words, and of course, Luffy's iconic voice—all of these elements make her performance exceptional. I can't think of anyone who could do a better job than she does. And it's not just her; the rest of the main cast, as well as the side characters and villains, are all phenomenally well-cast and performed.

It might be slow paced but it is needed in the story. They are building it up. Im just gonna say, some things in the early episodes might seem very random, but all is planned by Oda-sensei (creator of One Piece). While watching this again with you guys, I noticed little details now.

I honestly think One Pace should be more specific in its uses. Not every arc has bad pacing, and even the ones that do aren't that bad lol I think the more infamous arcs gained their reputation while it was airing. Most people binge now and the arc always pointed at as the worst paced one I didn't even notice anything really lol Maybe I'm just scared of one pace cutting out world building moments and character interactions. I never used it so I dont know how accurate it is, but I hope it is if they're using it. Some of the most "boring" arcs have important world building moments that I think a lot of people forget.

i watched one piece normally and watched one pace when my sister started it and honestly (not sure about earlier arcs) but wano for example they don’t cut out extra scenes just bcs they weren’t in the manga, i think their whole thing is “if the pacing is good and the scene added something whether it is a cool directed shot or a good transition it stays in the edit” so i don’t think it’s a bad idea for them to use it for “later” during those painfully paced arcs bcs imo forcing non-anime watchers to power through those in exchange of relying on a fan project that was objectively received is gonna do them a desservice. especially if the arc itself is good but toei chose to ruin it. usually i would just recommend reading the manga first and enjoy some scenes and episodes of the anime during those arcs but we can’t do that here so,,,

I hate to be that guy, but come on. Can Brig and McKay stop being so hypocritical? Like yeah, you can poke holes in weird stuff from older anime. But do they forget that Naruto has plenty of that too? Its fine to like both One Piece and Naruto, I love them both. But the critiques and comments they say just sound so fake when I remember things from Naruto. The comments that really made me write this were McKay saying how the mayor was so weak when he was just a "normal person like Zoro, with no powers". When thats just generic anime stuff. What about how Zabuza was one shotting all the mercenaries with a KUNAI, but it took dozens of weapons being stabbed into him to finally bring him down? Or even how countless ninja in Naruto die from being hit by kunai, but children can get struck by kunai, and even worse and shrug it off? The other comment being how Brig is so obsessed with the rope. Like yeah, thats a plot device, Naruto has plenty of them. I don't think its as weird as Naruto making a bunch of shadow clones against Kimimaro and then proceeding to just stand there while his clones got taken out one by one? I love ya guys, and will continue supporting and watching, just wish Brig and McKay would stop being so hypocritical. Its fine to not like One Piece, it ain't for everyone, but all the reasons I have heard thus far, can also easily be said about Naruto

I actually agree with this to a degree. Obviously Brig and McKay are biased towards Naruto, but they just don’t watch or view other shows the same way and they give Naruto way too much lenience. It’s starting to almost get funny the issues they have with other shows that are extremely prevalent in Naruto, maybe even worse. They definitely are partially joking but also definitely serious. The reason I personally subbed to them is they have a more critical approach to their content while also having some of the best reactions, I enjoy them all as critics. It gives their opinions more weight. They are like this with every show even game of thrones. It might not be that deep for some viewers but for me and others, who enjoy the critical side of their content, it makes me view McKay and Brig as slightly half assed critics, which is unfortunate. I honestly don’t think Thriller Bark needs one pace. I just recently re-watched it with my brother and it’s pretty good at that point. Pre-timeskip arcs don’t need that. Post-time skip, more likely but not always honestly. Like only the first half of Wano needs it for example. The fact that you guys are watching more than one episode a week is what makes it better.

Skypiea definitely isn’t the best arc but I found it fun and interesting. I guess I haven’t skipped any episodes in the whole show lol, like people really hate on Skypiea and Thriller Bark but I love those arcs

Probably a good idea lol. Honestly even as early as Alabasta, the pacing starts to take a noticeable dive. And people will actually skip Skypiea because the pacing is so bad. Honestly, once Arlong Park is over, I think One Pace is the move

Im enjoying the rewatch with them. They went through 120 eps or so of naruto where its all progression and build up. Same sorta deal with OP. Just gotta trust the process and let it cook. Hey Jackson! Just wanted to mention that I agree with using One Pace post ts, especially for Dressrosa, FMI, Punk Hazard, and Reverie, but honestly Wano and Egghead are occasionally ruined by One Pace because a lot of the anime only fight moments are sick. Especially since the animation quality has gone up significantly! I’m sure you can find more resources online about when in Wano you should use it, but just wanted to make you aware. Absolutely love the content so far, keep it up!

One pace for those arcs would probably be fine but honestly I wouldn’t use it for Marineford, they edit a couple of the coolest fight scenes really awkwardly for no reason and that arc is so goated u shouldn’t skip anything from it

It feels horrible to admit as a naruto fan and one piece hater for 14 years but these one piece eps have actually been super enjoyable. watching it here for the first time and comparing the pacing and content of these early episodes to naruto i gotta say one piece has been better imo. it hurt noticing my itch for these new uploads. just bulk drop the 12 hours XD

One pace isnt needed this early on in the show. Its better to use a filler guide and skip whole episodes that are straight filler. In my opinion One Pace isnt needed until much later in the show, early on it can mess up the build ups and tension in the on e piece world. It also uses scenes from recap episodes that dont release for hundreds of episodes and theyre different from the original scenes. Filler guides>One pace imo

It also uses entire scenes from future recap episodes that are hundreds of epsidoes away and are far different from the original scenes. Theyre much better off using a filler guide and skipping the full filler episodes. I'd even argue doing that is better for the entire show except for maybe dressrosa and one or two more lesser arcs

I agree this early on One Pace isn't needed, especially on a first watch through. It's great if you're doing a rewatch of the show though. I disagree it's better for the entire show, the pacing definitely starts slogging during Water Seven. Thriller Bark is horrendous to get through almost taking 8 minutes to get into new content which is then horribly paced.

Captain Kuro arc is definitly the weakest one from the beginning. It's still fun when you rewatch One Piece but as my first time watching I almost dropped it there. Felt kinda boring.
