JON: “WE OUTSIDEEEE!”

Ali

Season 7 episode 4 is the last episode of this series I love, but damn am I hyped for it!

GreetswithJudgement

Carter I get what you’re saying. Writing has a huge impact on the changes you are feeling. But things regardless of the writing and direction can still be enjoyable. Just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s bad it just means that it’s not as good as what came before, that potential has been lost and never found. However this season is better than 5 but 4 is greater than all.

Bri-Ana Monique

Right on time for my lunch break 😍 thank you

Mr. Buddy Guy

CALL THE BANNERS!! Davis and Tyrion shake hands lmao 💀

Griffin

The start, about "it feeling more like a TV show now" -- I think it's because D&D started leaning in to everything being a spectacle. I think it's both good and bad. Good because we get really incredible moments and bad because focus on spectacle means sometimes logic, character motivation, and other careful intent go by the wayside or just disappear. Excited to see everyone's take on this episode

Afra

Lunch break huh💀? Bruh I hate being in Europe it’s 11pm now :/

Alan

I like how they do a good job of making peoples tans make sense like how varis looks more toned because they’ve been on a boat for the past month or however long it took em to cross the narrow sea

Mitch

Yea I really dislike this season as a whole but that ep has given me major chills every time and I’ve prob rewatched that scene like 30 times.

Zipzzty

Super Novice

Olenna always cooks people verbally without fail

MacJordanT

I’ve never shared the hate for Melisandre. Like yeah she’s definitely not a good person, but a few things: The Lord of Light has been proven legitimate so many times in the show, yet she gets treated like a fraud who’s got some ulterior motive. Second, Stannis probably would’ve won on Blackwater Bay if he had her magic there to combat the magic wildfire King’s Landing used against his fleet. And most importantly, she brought Jon Snow back to life which is THE main reason any of the good things are currently happening for the good guys. Call me crazy, but I feel like reviving the hero who unites the North against evil ice zombies makes up for the Stannis fumble.

Afra

I have no choice but to sadly👀 but atleast I can enjoy it with peace

Débora Silva

McKay you crack me up with those 👀 🤣🤣

Marcusinmilw

RIP to The Queen of Thorns. She went out like the gangster she was. Can’t wait for episode 4!!

Shadow

Love when the show actually focuses on Jon and Dany parallels

kivu_king

bran was so interesting at the start and his journey was interesting, but for me the character fell off a cliff

Luna lanes

Watching her burn people alive several times in the show (including a child) don't help her cause. Even if it helps to fight the night king, as Davos once said "if you God makes you burn children, your god is evil"

TheSauceGuy

Season 7 is still good/decent in every way except for plot/character writing IMO. When we're given moments where Euron miraculously gets those ships, it just bothers me. When Baelish is made into another person to further the plot, it bothers me.

GreetswithJudgement

I haven’t been a fan of this show for awhile but I am happy that you boys are enjoying it, even considered a GOAT to most of you (or all) and I can’t wait to here the discussions about it after it’s over. There are many great shows to begin after this, I’m sure a poll will be considered however my personal and underrated vote is Black Sails. It’s masterfully done if you’re looking forward to another epic.

Daenerys Targaryen

Carter cooking with the post-episode comments!

TheSauceGuy

What "centuries of peace and prosperity" is Daenerys talking about lol?

mk

"a finger in da bum" somebody pls kill me now

Seth Aasland

RIP the realest and funniest character on this show ❤️ the Queen of Thorns to the very end

Vik Mar

"Super easy barely an inconvenience" 🐐 Never thought I'd hear those words here 😂

Elijah Slocombe

Open-minded as ever this is gek heritage, the final two seasons are disappointing but only in comparison to the peak that built it up.

TheSauceGuy

A finger in the bum...

Leo

This is Jon Snow... He is king in the north. Simple yet powerful

mk

"fight every battle everywhere, always, in your mind" - P'tyre 'Cringe' Littlefinger

Jordan Drake

Very apropos to post this today. Today (sep 10th) is the 4 year anniversary of Diana Riggs death (lady Olenna's actress).

MacJordanT

I love Davos but he’s like Ned, a man with a black and white idea of good and bad, and that just isn’t how this world works. The lord of light had a child sacrificed, but also kept objectively good men like Jon and Beric alive so they could later help many other people. Is that evil?

JJ

we cook them for constantly giving us GoT fans late drops so gotta praise them when they hit us with early drops

Griffin

My follow-up at the end -- The description of "better than almost anything out today" + "fun but fanservice" + "disappointing compared to what we know it could have been" is how I've always felt about season 7. There are plenty of moments I'm specifically excited for you all to see this season but the in between is... "hollow" does feel apt.

Madison

season 7 is easy to enjoy while you're watching it. it's the looking back when you see how much better everything could've been

Jeb

Game of thrones

JJ

I would have to say, Carter is the only one not with the recency bias. His comments have hit the nail in the damn head. “Now it just feels like I’m watching TV.” & “Now things are just happening without the weight behind them..” Exactly, Carter. It’s always been hard for me to explain my problems with season 7, cause there’s a lot of good there. Acting, set pieces, battles look great, etc.. It just feels so much less immersive than it used to in the first four seasons. Glad I have a representative on that couch!

Maari

I think its good your expectations are so low- keep em there for as long as you can to enjoy it for as long as possible. So far, at this point, I was having a rough time reconciling the character assassinations that continued to spread as well as the fast travel that was happening. The Infinity war vs Endgame comparison is interesting though and I think works for this season- but I also have a feeling I liked Endgame a lot less than most folks

Roy Koopa

If the boys are this downcast on the good episodes, imagine how they’re going to feel from two episodes time XD

TheSauceGuy

It truly makes no sense whatsoever how Jaime was able to take Highgarden with ZERO siege equipment and nowhere near enough men. Why were there so few people defending the castle too? I guess the Tyrells kind of forgot that the Lannisters are now their enemies and just opened the gates for them.

Leo

I agree with cannon and brig. The expectations are low for them so obviously they will love this season.

Griffin

I think the idea was a lot of the Tyrell's army sunk with the Dornish with the ships? But that doesn't explain why Olena was sitting in an empty, unguarded castle...

RipIsMySon

Next episode is himmmm

Seth Aasland

“it was never our forte. golden roses indeed.” YALL ARE LITERALLY THE HOME OF CHIVALRY AND HAVE ONE OF THE LARGEST ARMIES AND A TON OF KNIGHTS?!?! HELLO?!?! Highgarden and Casterly Rock were such let downs ☹️

Nomaan

It’s bad writing. Nothing this season actually makes sense when it comes to the history and lore

TheSauceGuy

It doesn't matter, they are supposed to be able to rally between 80,000 to 100,000 soldiers. It makes zero sense for them to not leave a force large enough to defend their castle lol. It also makes zero sense how Jaime even got in when they had no siege equipment. Did they just politely knock at the gate?

Paperview007

Season 7 hasn’t been disappointing. 3 episodes in its been good. Yes you can tell a drop off on how it is constructed. But The very end is why everyone hates on the whole last season and leading up to it. But don’t let these mad folks have you thinking your watching trash the whole rest of the way through. It will continue to exceed expectations if you thought it wasn’t going to be good. Now I’ll hold my thoughts on the ending of the show and the way a couple things happen in the last season lol.

Nomaan

One thing I hate is how they portrayed Dany as if she doesn’t “believe” Jon about the White Walkers when in the books she’s had multiple dreams and visions of fighting them on the back of a dragon. It’s a joke😭

GB3

Despite there being stuff in season 7 that doesn’t make sense, it’s enjoyable. The reason s7 gets such a bad rap is because s8 was so bad. If season 8 was at least somewhat decent, the illogical stuff in s7 would be easily forgiven

Sean Carroll

It is bad though, like it genuinely is about to get worse. Ep 4 might be passable despite its flaws but 5-7 is where everything completely falls apart

Sean Carroll

Killing children is evil, don’t even try for one second to defend the lord of light

jrnoodles

Thanks! I'm a bit sad that Olenna died, I liked her character very much. There's isn't much sass anymore in the dialogue.

Sean Carroll

These first four episodes aren’t good, they are ok at best and bad at worst

Roy Koopa

Listen, I’m a book reader, I can give you serious issues all the way back to season 2. But you just need to see things in perspective. They’re *relatively* good episodes.

Sean Carroll

Speak for yourself, season 7 has major flaws and genuinely delves into trash territory

Paul Durbin

"Now it just feels like I'm watching a TV show" "When did that happen for you?" "Idk... post season 4" Exactly

Paul Durbin

Jon Snow was still technically a bastard, so he wouldn't be a Targaryen, but he was born in The Tower of Joy in Dorne, so he'd be Jon Sand.

Euphemia Isobel

Daenerys telling Jon that "we all enjoy doing what we're good at" and Jon saying "I don't" is a callback to when she said to Barristan that Viserys told her Rhaegar was good at killing people and he responded saying "Rhaegar never liked killing"

vally

I definitely understand your feelings. This show needed at least 2 more seasons to built everything perfectly up but … yeah … sadly we didn’t got them

GreetswithJudgement

Sean I just noticed now your full username 😂 I’m just trying to relate in the subjectivity matter but I do 100 percent agree with you as far as the writing quality.

lily p

I found that Season 7 falls short compared to the earlier seasons, especially in terms of dialogue, pacing, and character arcs. It didn’t live up to the expectations set by Season 6. During my first watch, I enjoyed it more, likely due to the excitement of waiting a year for its release. However, on rewatching, the decline in quality becomes a lot more pronounced. I enjoyed the episodes too, but I can’t lie and say that it doesn’t suck that I don’t get the feelings I once did when I watched it. Carter said it right: in the earlier seasons, you were so drawn in that it almost didn’t feel like television, but now that the mistakes are more apparent, it does take you out of it a bit.

bittersteel

9:11 oh brother

Sean Carroll

I rest my case to all the people who have been attacking me for like 2 months

Sean Carroll

That argument doesn’t make sense, season 7 is bad on its own, not because another season is bad

Chris Sanford

The whole ships thing isn’t too crazy if I’m being completely honest. On-screen we saw maybe 30 Unsullied ships, but certainly no more than 100. Say each ship can carry at the very least 50 men and that adds up well. As for how they make them in such a short period of time, a part of it is certainly just the show runners using their time-skipping powers. But I also think most people don’t realize how quickly and efficiently humans in vast numbers can create things. For a real life reference, it only took Julius Caesar one winter to make 800 ships for him and his 5 legions (roughly 5k men per legion) to sail to Britain. 10,000+ people all working on one singular task can get done a lot sooner than you may think.

Jacob Goldsmith

did you miss right after when they said s7 has been good so far unlike a certain someones rants say

bittersteel

23:46 ohhh brother

Paul Durbin

It can simultaneously be "good" and "not up to the same quality" as S1 - S4. Your comment has nothing to do with my point. You are trying to defend something I am not attacking.

lily p

Rhaegar was def super complex. Despite his aversion to violence and his seemingly noble demeanor described per Barristan, I think he inherited that madness that his father had later in life. Aerys was also charming and charismatic is his youth. Yet he burned people for pleasure, and Rhaegar abducted a woman and fathered a child in her. What a tumultuous time for the Targaryens

Samuel

30:54 first ruling queen yall hear that Team Black fans😌

Anthony Chavez

line up!! all you who been talkin shit on season 7! lets go!!

TheSauceGuy

In my opinion, season 7 just gets rid of the writing and character elements that make the series good; it's just a rushed mess. This becomes noticeable in seasons 5 and 6 as well: you have the Dorne plot, Baelish becoming brainless, and the Battle of the Bastards making absolutely no sense. Jon's character was thrown away even before season 5 as he becomes a Ned Stark clone. The Mereen plotline last season closed in a single episode. Euron's character is spit on by D&D and he also wills a fleet of ships into existence for himself. I honestly feel bad for Euron's actor as he isn't bad, but the character he was given was awful and just doesn't fit in. So much happens offscreen and/or doesn't make sense. It has essentially become a popcorn show, so it can still be an enjoyable watch if you're just into the fan service. If you're watching it the first time, especially if you're binging it, you're not going to be as bothered by it in my opinion. I didn't dislike season 7 on my first watch either, but I was like 16. I will say that the music, visuals, sets, and other things like that are still good. Ramin Djawadi never fails to cook on the scores for GoT and HotD.

Paul Durbin

It doesn't mean we're shitting on the latter seasons, just means we miss peak GoT. Sad it didn't continue. There's something about a story or narrative that has a good, solid, and well thought out ending. It shows that the writer(s)/creator(s) had something in mind the whole time, knew what they were doing and where they were going. There was a purpose and direction in every creative decision. I look at Breaking Bad, AoT, Ozark, True Detective (season 1), FMAB. In their entirety, nothing was lacking. The latter seasons exposed that D&D had no idea what they were doing outside of adapting the genius of GRRM. Imo, it doesn't mean this show turned into utter shit. It just means it fell off hard.

Sean

"felt more like a TV show" I know what you mean. It's like you could feel the imprint of the writers in the later seasons, where in earlier seasons you get completely sucked into the universe. I think dialogue has a lot to do with it.

Paul Durbin

I still think it would have not lived up to the same standard as s1-4, but I agree, it definitely would have benefited from a prolonged timeline.

Amna 🍉

Ummm no not the same thing lol. Rhaegar definitely changed a about after learning about the prophecy.

Amna 🍉

THIS! They besically erased the fact that Dany was a dreamer😭 she's aware that there's a threat bigger than throne

Nomaan

Yeah I feel the Mad King’s madness was sort of built up well. From being kidnapped and locked in a dungeon for six months… it’s not really a surprise he went mad😭

Nomaan

Exactly. The biggest fumble the show made was erasing Dany’s House of the Undying vision sequence. What we got in the show was a JOKE. But that whole thing makes sense for whatever D&D wanted (without delving into spoiler territory)

Amna 🍉

*Bran and Sansa reuniting after YEARS* Bran: hey so you remember that night you got raped, you looked really pretty. LIKE WTF BRAN????

Nomaan

Well then a show about dragons and zombies isn’t the show for them?😭😭

Bellaa

Carter i completely agree with your beginning comments. the best parts of this show feel like real life to me ahhaha. thats why i struggle with house of dragon because that fully feels like a tv show to me. but they do have a smaller budget so cant hate too much on what they cant control

Amna 🍉

"Is he on ashwaganda" LOOOOOL CANNON

Jenny D

I agree that Jon and Daenerys's conversation is odd. I feel like they are having two different conversations. He's trying to tell her about the North and she keeps saying how she's the rightful heir. I'm sad this is the end for Olenna. I enjoyed her wit. Great reactions. I like how you all went silent when Olenna revealed she killed Joffery. I like parts of season 7, but I agree the it's definitely a different tone from previous seasons. It's hard to remember that this isn't a real history.

Amna 🍉

"centuries of peace and prosperity" GIRL YOUR FATHER IS LITERALLY THE MAD KING💀💀

Amna 🍉

I'm so glad your expectations are low enough to enjoy season 7 but for us, who waited almost 2 years for season 7, this was not good lol. There's a clear decline in writing and character development, something GOT was always known for.

Marisa Pardo

I really don’t understand everyone’s quick disbelieve about the existence of White Walkers. Daenerys has Dragons. The Wildlings have giants in their clan. The maesters at the Citadel have seen people with greyscale so I’m sure they know that it’s contracted by the stone men. Tyrion was convinced back in season 2 thanks to commander Mormont’s letter so I especially don’t understand why he was acting brand new at first.

Amna 🍉

This is something I really appreciate about the Geks and why you're the only channel I'm subscribed to on patreon, you don't shy away from having a different opinion and just being honest. There's things I 100% disagree with you guys on but I still appreciate the honesty.

Nomaan

Anyways ready for episode 4 in 2 days😈🔥

Samuel

Olenna Tyrell being savage even in her last moments. RIP Queen. Also the end credits this episode was another track I love "The Queens Justice"

Brett

Lord Baelish could drop an album with all the bars he's laid throughout the show. Top 3 character for me.

Richie Sour

I never disliked season 7 despite its flaws, season 8 though… 😬

Jordan Drake

It would help if I spelled it correctly lol, let me edit that. Yeah it's basically just a shorter word for "appropriate".

Amna 🍉

I think the biggest and first mistake D&D made while adapting Game Of Thrones is taking a more "realistic" approach instead of going full on fantasy. The books are extremely high fantasy. Daenerys is a dreamer and arguably the most magical character in the books, erasing that makes her character less important. Not to mention the storylines they have to erase or simplify. And then when they did include magic in the show, it wasn't explained well and people were left confused. Idk how D&D read asoiaf and decided that being more realistic was the right approach.

Shpitz

I still can't believe cersei blowing up the Sept had no consequences. She killed so many of the common people and their leaders, plus margery who was super popular. The Tyrells were supplying almost all the food to the city as we were told. King's landing should be in full on rebellion

Shpitz

Plus, we were told the tyrells were richer and had more man, why would anybody still side with cersei when she's clearly on the losing side, has no rightful claim to the throne, and when everyone knows what kind of person she is

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

I'm literally trying to remember when I binged to 7 and had to wait for 8, if I disliked it all the way through or just by the final episode. I remember feeling hollow after the first episode, then maybe just confused until the end, then enraged. I was also sick af during watch of this season in particular so it's all a bit blurry and possibly colored by that experience. But I do remember finding enough catharsis in post watch review vids to go into 8 with a more ready perspective. I'll get to those thoughts then, of course.

Nanashi

Geks, don't wanna be annoying but just wanted some clarity if possible as to when One Piece uploads will be coming. When can I expect them roughly

Paul Durbin

What a way for Olenna to go out

Brittany (Ultraanimegirl4)

Olenna cooked that final scene, one of the best endings for a character in the show, badass to the last

Karlsefni

When they do large binges & drop those episodes that they binged fairly quickly, it’s usually a while until they drop the next episode since they just put out so much content, I think it was the same case when they did the 12 hour binge for Naruto so i’d expect 2-3 weeks since the last one piece drop date but who knows they might drop sooner

Nanashi

That's what I'm thinking, just wanted to know if they aren't going to set it aside or something cause I was hyped to watch it

lily p

Did anyone else start to feel a HUGE disconnect with Daenerys character arc at this point as well? The writing is so poor, and I liked virtually nothing about how that conversation went with Jon. I didn't expect her to fully trust Jon, but a bit of humility would have been appropriate for someone who claims to seek an alliance with the North. Her arrogance was so overwhelming, and it's clear she’s often reminded that having a large army and dragons doesn’t necessarily translate to effective diplomacy, which is something I thought she would understand by now. And yes while her family name still carries weight, she’s gotta understand that her family hasn't been a major force in decades. Westeros has changed significantly, and it’s weird why she expects people to uphold old oaths and allegiances just because she’s back.

lily p

I don’t think you’re picking up what I’m putting down here so just ignore it

lily p

Also dance of dragons, blackfyre rebellions, war with dorne, maybe a couple good years but also decades of war under her entire family lol.

Teri M

7x4 is one of my favorites of the series. I cannot wait!

lily p

She doesn’t need to be genuinely humble. All she needs to do is feign humility when it’s evident she stands to gain significantly from it.

Ana

Nah. I actually started liking Dany more in the last few seasons

Harper

Is everything okay with Carter? He seemed so discouraged to me in this react

Tieland

That's your opinion and you're free to have it. However, there are some of us that don't believe it was trash. I enjoyed season 7, along with season 8. I know I'm not the majority that believed the last 2 seasons sucked. But I read the books and I took the show to be made from materials that stemmed from the books. I didn't expect a play by play because they're isn't any show that is made from a book done that way. I enjoyed the series as it was written and that was that!! 🤷🏽‍♀️😊

GB3

While it was airing live, people weren’t as critical about s7 because of the hype for s8. Since s8 was a huge letdown, that’s when people really decided to dig in and tear s7 apart. If s8 was at least not terrible, I would be far more forgiving with s7 , it’s just knowing what s7 leads to makes it rough

Michael

**HOTD SPOILER** The common folk in house of the dragon almost killed important characters after a few weeks of starvation. Cersei blows up the sept, killing hundreds of people and the leader of their faith, and…crickets. The lack of source material and the desire to wrap up the show are apparent, but I still think this season is decent and not as bad as people claim

Tieland

Is it me or did everyone finally notice the time jumps and teleportation when they got to season 7?? There have ALWAYS been time jumps going all the way back to episode one. When they arrived at Winterfell... Robert, "take me to pay my respects to the dead". Cersie, we've been traveling for a month my love. Surely the dead can wait." A short while after a letter and a hunt, by mid episode they were back at kings landing!! 🤣🤣🤣 However, no one cared because the show wasn't ending. There are time jumps in every season and sometimes every other episode in some seasons, BUT no one cared until the show was about to end. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You don't believe me? Go back, rewatch GOT, and I bet you pick up on them. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Michael

I agree, but I also think the lack of fantastical elements gave the show more widespread appeal in the earlier seasons

Bellaa

im sorry but i have no idea what ur talking about🤨😂most fans of the show did enjoy season 7 when it came out

Amna 🍉

You want us to watch them travel for 3 months...? There's times where time jumps make sense bc there's nothing to show. In season 7, not so much. We can have good dialogue and character development happening but instead we're speeding up things like crazy. And I don't think there was much teleportation in the previous seasons, except with varys in season 6

Kare

Cannons so real for having a major crush on missandei she’s gorgggggg

Shpitz

Mate, I think you need to go back and re-watch. They were on the kings road when joffrey was attacked by Nymeria, causing Arya to banish her and Ned to kill lady. Cat left after Ned and the arrival was also staggered, tyrion traveled with John to the wall, collided with cat on the way back and was taken captive. After being released he was also intersected by the mountain tribes

Shpitz

Early GOT people didn't just get places, travel was risky and took time. And that made it so at a given moment you could trace where everybody were. The worst thing about the teleportation is that it messes with time perception, if you try to justify people getting places you have to assume scene that were happening concurrently were weeks apart, and that breaks very easily.

Amna 🍉

Yeah but that's ruining the story lol. Then they have a scene of a witch giving birth to a shadow baby to kill Renly which left people so confused when it first aired. In long term it wasn't a good decision. It gave less significance to Dany's character, erased Lady Stoneheart among other characters, made Euron worse, Oberyn was also interested in magic. The whole North was so magic coded. GOT as high fantasy show would've killed it.

Amna 🍉

Lol yuuuup. This is probably the worst thing she could've said to Jon of all people, as if three starks didn't die bc of targaryens in their last rule 💀

Amna 🍉

Yea bc it was full of fan service. Fan service isn't necessarily a good thing lol.

andrés

For sure, no one said otherwise. Though I do wonder what is at all productive about devoting so much time to shit on something so obsessively whilst providing no positive commentary? Criticism is most useful and beneficial when it is constructive. Also allows for better dialogue in commentary. Have a blessed day Sean!

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

I haven't seen anyone notice how Cersei made her handmade cut her own hair.

Amna 🍉

Like what made him think Sansa would like to hear about that 😃😃

Josh Viz

Hey! Good to see you!! I'm 90% sure that was Cersei influencing the latest style! If you look at past seasons maidens wore their hair like Cersei and then suddenly everyone started wearing their hair like Margaery! It's a really fun detail

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Where have you been?! Lol. I was sure it was some kind of Cersei thing like I am humiliated, so shall you be, but it would make sense they'd overlook that for a callback to trend.

HaveAblast

Season 7 is not bad, its just where the rushing starts imo. A character says he's going to the other side of the world and next scene he is there. Dialogue seems a bit mediocre at times as well.

1999

He’s still upset about Ramsey Bolton’s death

Ophelia

LENA HEADEY (Cersei) IS A FANTASTIC ACTRESS I WILL NOT STAND ANY LENA HEADEY SLANDER ‼️‼️‼️

Harper

We are all... Jon should die in that battle, that’s geral consensus

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

I'm razzing on Dave & Dan cuz this is my only chance, no one hardcore defends them here because there's enough book readers 😅

Blackeyedlily

Did you guys pick up on how Jon had just said, “I’m not a Stark,” when the dragon buzzed him? Also when Jon and Danearys were outside talking Jon told her that he doesn’t like to do what he’s good at. This seems to be a call back to when Ser Barristan told her that Rhaeger never liked killing, after she told Ser Barristan that her brother Viserys said Rhaeger was a great killer. They are fitting in some nice little details pointing to Jon’s true identity. They have actually been doing this since the beginning of the series, which is why people kept recommending that you guys watch a popular fan video on YouTube entitled R + L = J. It puts all these moments from across the series together and it all kinda smack you in the face regarding how many times they’ve been hinting about him being a Targaryen. Lots of GOT reactors watch it after they finish season six. I still think you guys would enjoy taking a look at it. And we would enjoy seeing you watch it!👍🐺🐲

Nanashi

So you liked her more when her character turned to shit? I hope it wasn't just because she's a "girl boss" or whatever this is

Nanashi

Season 7 has some good scenes sporadically but it doesn't hold a candle to early got

Kite

Missandei is indeed, the baddest

Kare

I think hotd s1 was wayyyyy better than s2. Like I’d compare s1 to got s1-4 just obvs less epic since the story it more condensed. S2 felt like regular tv

kami

Congratulations Daenerys, another defeat!

Nanashi

I don't mind him, I just don't like the fact everyone just lets him speak

kami

Can we consider Tyrion the worst hand of the king already?

kami

It's a shame that Varys and Littlefinger's intelligence after the end of the books is only as high as the producers' intelligence can be.

Rigny la Belle

I felt exactly like Canon and Brig when I binged GOT during the pandemic. Feelings were still fresh one year after GOT ended, so I was expecting some truly abysmal garbage. I was pleasantly surprised that despite the undeniable lows of the very end, I ended up liking Season 8 more than Season 5. I might get chased for this, but peak GOT for me was Seasons 2 and 3. I felt that Season 4 lacked some of the rugged charm its predecessors had despite objectively being the best season. I find myself longing for the classic arcs like the Red Wedding, Jamie's development with Brienne, Arya with Jac'quen and Tywin in Harrenhal, Daenerys before she got stagnant and absorbed in her grandiosity, Joffrey torturing everyone, and Tyrion having killer dialogue 24/7.

MacJordanT

Sure call him evil, but don’t turn around and beg this “evil” god to bring Jon back to life two episodes later.

MagicSquirrel

No they don't record the voices afterwards... xD.. They got extremely expensive microphones with equipement that allows to pick up the voices, but no the wind. The microphones are RIGHT above their heads. It's camera work, team work. :)

Ophelia

TELL CERSEI, I WANT HER TO KNOW IT WAS ME 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️

They do ADR (automated dialogue replacement) in film and tv which is essentially dubbing a line when the audio quality gets messed up. This is in every single tv show and movie and likelyyyyy happened on some lines in that scene with the elements being as crazy as they were! :)

Josh Viz

Lol I needed surgery for a broken nose and took 3 weeks off life! I decided to subscribe for 1 month to 2 other channels and just watched only that haha (I think I saw you in Letts Reacts chat!) So now I got a back log of the Octobers to watch! I need to watch basically all of strangers things s3 I'm excited 😊

Anthony Rodriguez

Tyrion literally made a Hoe Door at Castelly Rock

Dakota

I've already said this multiple times it feels like, but I'm glad you guys are enjoying season 7. People hate it, but I was never one of those. I just wanted MORE! I was always disappointed moreso than angry. Olenna is one of the best characters of this show, and unlike other characters, actually got a great ending. The rest of this season is kinda nuts so we'll see how you guys feel about that.

MagicSquirrel

Ok I must say that's incredibly fascinating. Worked with music-video filmmakers and never heard of this. But maybe because my audio-engineering knowledge is limited when it comes to film/tv production. I'm focused on music, sound-design and soundtrack production. (Also, to me, this feels like an incredibly expensive process, to re-record with actors. It's wiiild) Guess it's only used if audio really got messed up.

Starkfern

I'm glad you guys are noticing how bad the show is getting. I can't believe some people still like and defend these last few seasons of GOT

Cannon looks like Xolo Maridueña with that haircut

Cannon Andrus

I think he was just trying to show that he was the three eyed raven. He could’ve done it any other way but yeah

Starkfern

The lannisters taking highgarden is so funny. No siege equipment and no resistance and they take it just like that. I remember back when they said riverrun could take a 2 year siege. But I guess highgarden couldn't last a day despite The Reach having by far the most soldiers in westeros

Kite

For those of us who watched the show for years and built up expectations for these moments and reunions, the way everything moves so fast and happens so easily makes it feel cheap. idk maybe its me 😔👑

r stark

the bran taking ashwaganda comment genuinely made me cackle

Amna 🍉

Lol yes I know. It was just funny how he brought up her most traumatic moment 💀😭

Chakra

I CANT WAIT FOR NEXT EPISODEEEE, PLS BE TMRW

Renaldo Allard

Honestly I feel like they started to lose passion they wanted to end the show that’s why this season has 7 episode and next season has like 5 episodes I guess they didn’t feel like dragging it out anymore a lot of material in the books they never used or they changed George R Martin didn’t even finish the last 2 books yet till this day so they was running low on material so that’s why things are so fast pace there just getting to it at this point

Renaldo Allard

Season 7 Is still good to me but when 8 hit you guys are gonna see how disappointing certain things are and how certain things could of played out better even varis threw the script off the table cuz it was bullshit

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Aww 😬 hope you're healed up! I'm only in here and Octobers, but probably actually taking a break from them for awhile, they're up to s4!

studiogek

One Piece will start dropping twice-thrice per week with the first drop in a little bit. Haven't locked down the days yet

Kamina 1

Told your patreon's this would happen and they didn't listen. Set the bare to it's absolute lowest and here we are.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Sorry if the comments have gotten too downer, but as Lindsey Ellis said, we can only love something this much to be this disappointed. I would not be paying to watch it yet again if it wasn't a deep love under there. I just hope every gek feels like they can express the opinion they want. It's not really reasonable imo for people who've watched the show to not expect some later viewers to come away with similar dissatisfactions. After my first watch alone I thought I was the problem, so was very relieved to find others who shared my feelings. I really only wish people understood how I appreciated and prefer what they were giving us before in most of my books and media, so there should be a way for me to coexist with others who don't share the same passion for that in particular. What else is an autist blerd to do, otherwise? 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️😳😂

Nanashi

Thanks man. Yall are killing it, and hopefully thrice a week so we speed through it lol

Mitch

I feel the exact same cannon. Like wow, one of the most deadly, contagious and dangerous infections in the history of Westeros that thousands of people have had all through history. I wonder how we should cure it? Oh LETS JUST PEEL OFF THE SCALES, WOW, GENUIS. I cannot believe no one in history has ever thought of that brilliant idea! Just peel em off and your cured!

Junior

Yes, season 7 has its problems, but it's faaaaar from being the shit show some people say it is. The main problem with it is really just the pace in which things happen, but everything happening is sooo good! It is the season of pay-offs for all the build up done in the previous six seasons.

TheSauceGuy

I definitely disagree with your season 8 opinion lol, but to each their own. I agree with seasons 2-3 being on par or better than 4 as well, but it's subjective. Part of it is because season 4 is where Jon begins to diverge into a different character.

TheSauceGuy

Yeah, they said they're worried about spoilers or something but I don't think there are any.

TheSauceGuy

For me, it's definitely the writing/characters more than anything else. Some of the events make sense but how we get their and how they play out doesn't.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

But if all come away loving it through, that's great, idky one person's expression of dislike implies it must be similar for others. If you like it you do and I appreciate yall sharing why, it's refreshing to see people amped still fr. I'm amped cuz I always go back to 1x1 after 6x10 so in my mind GoT is still peak because I'm heavy projecting from another realm 😁😁😁

Ophelia

Yeah idk much about music videos but it’s a standard process in tv/film! They literally have ADR days after filming where you have to have the actors come into the studio to re record lines. Happens for pretty much every episode of every tv show ever. 30 min shows, 60 min shows. It looks similar to what you’d see for voice acting, except it’s just the actor matching the line up to themselves

TheSauceGuy

Her ending is good but the way they got there (offscreen siege without siege equipment) is terrible.

Sean Carroll

False. Season 7 is basically inconsequential when we reach the end of the season and I will provide great detail on why when we get there

TheSauceGuy

Yeah, it's not like a steaming pile of garbage, but it also is full of things that simply make no sense.

Sean Carroll

I’m going to cook later on this, one of the most insulting moments that dumb and dumber subjected us to

TheSauceGuy

They decide to make Dany fireproof for some reason and not include tons of the other magical elements lmao

JAY

Cersei is diabolical for that

TheSauceGuy

Oh lord, I yearn for a world where we get to see book Euron. I also yearn for one where George finishes the books and we get a faithful adaptation

Amna 🍉

I legit thought the Targaryens were firproof until I learned more about them and Daenerys.

JAY

Love the conversation between Olenna and Jamie. She is one of the best characters through to her very end. Love her.

JAY

You guys have valid thoughts on the season thus far but I’m glad you’re enjoying it more than you expected to! Suuuper excited for episode 4.

TheSauceGuy

I always like reading your and a few others' comments. You should consider joining a group chat I made mainly for GoT/HotD stuff. My username is "the.sauce.guy" if anyone wants to join, you can just add me. We have 7 people rn, so we can only fit 3 more with Discord group chat limits lol. I might expand things somehow if others want to join.

TheSauceGuy

I said the same thing lmao. What was she talking about? Truly brainwashed or stupid.

Sean Carroll

What are you talking about, didn’t you see the obvious and not at all contrived sexual tension between the two? Like it’s right there guys….

TheSauceGuy

I mean, he also just walks in and mentions the "Night King" and "White Walkers" without even elaborating what those are.

Sean Carroll

Episode 5 is the downfall, ep 4 is passable but from 5 onwards we dive straight into absolutely garbage territory

TheSauceGuy

I actually don't think the budget has been much smaller for HotD, if at all

Sean Carroll

If you’re already disappointed you will be flat out furious and depressed later

Sean Carroll

Dany was always terrible to follow, season 1 is her only interesting season

TheSauceGuy

Sean 2 haha. I think it's mostly characters and development of events.

Sean Carroll

I did actually have positive discussions with people who realised that I am open to debate, 90% of people decided to attack me though because they can’t handle negativity

Sean Carroll

The airing live argument also doesn’t make sense, the show is the same on the day it aired and 7 years later, the issues are still there. People back then just chose to watch the show with their brains turned off

TheSauceGuy

How many men did Julius Caesar have building? How many men does Daenerys have that actually know how to build ships? Also, I could be misremembering, but I thought much of Dany's ships were from the slavers and Greyjoys, so she didn't build them. Euron is the bigger problem for me as he builds tons of ships seemingly overnight.

TheSauceGuy

I wouldn't dunk on the later seasons (besides season 8 lmao), but the problems of seasons 5-7 themselves can and should be dunked on.

TheSauceGuy

I'm going to try and hold my criticisms about the later seasons as a whole starting next episode. I'll address specific problems in a given episode, but no more. Plenty of our frustrations will be let out in the comments for next season haha.

TheSauceGuy

Next episode is at least good fan service rather than poor fan service of this episode.

TheSauceGuy

Show Euron (crazy pirate): "A finger in the bum" Book Euron (eldritch apocalypse-bringer lmao): "These are the last days, when the world shall be broken and remade. A new god shall be born from the graves and charnel pits."

Amna 🍉

Rip my girl Olenna😔 you were always coming through with the hijab looks

Amna 🍉

If you look up young Olenna, she looks exactly like Margaery. The casting for those two was amazing. Same with Arya and young Catelyn actually, they look so much alike

Amna 🍉

Have you read his new blog. He said he was dealing with a friend who died earlier this year and he's still mourning him. But he did write new pages to WoW and Fire & Blood part 2

Rigny la Belle

Yeah you’re right, Jon’s character felt different after Season 3. I feel like he used to have a little more edge if you can call it that, and in Season 4 slowly started to morph into a purely honorable character. I adore Jon and he was my favorite through the latter half of the show because of his compassion and honor, but it’s something I realized after rewatching several times. It’s painful to compare the characters to who they are in Season 1 vs now because a lot feel like totally different people, most in an unnatural way. Back to Season 4, it felt more cinematic and the addition of Oberyn was thrilling, but I remember being disappointed at the time with Jamie’s character especially. They didn’t have to go and cut his gorgeous mane, for some reason the clean cut made him feel too ‘just reformed good guy’ all of a sudden and I missed his charm but that’s largely my crush speaking.

Amna 🍉

Now now thesauceguy, I usually like your takes but not too much disrespect on my queen😤😤

TheSauceGuy

They really have to watch some of Alt Shift X's videos on characters after they've finished the show. "The Real Jon Snow" is the best informative video on a series I've ever watched.

TheSauceGuy

There's another one after the HotD one lol? Oh wow, you're right, I'll have to read it.

Leo

In season 5 rewatch I skip every other storylines except Jon and Ramsey storylines.

TheSauceGuy

I audibly laughed at this lmao, it's funny to imagine he's breaking the fourth wall and talking about the show itself.

TheSauceGuy

I despise many of their decisions (as did the cast) but I do feel bad for them lol. I think they were just tired of the series and were out of their depth. Like 10-13 seasons would've been preferable, but even just having seasons 7-8 be a full 10 episodes could've improved so much.

TheSauceGuy

Dave and Dan kind of forgot about that. Okay, I have to stop with this meme.

TheSauceGuy

I don't like that or the words that come out of his mouth. The actor does a good job portraying what he was given, but he wasn't given what he should've been.

NoneOfYourBeeswax

But it wasn't a case of "peel it off and they're cured". Peeling the scales off was simply a necessary precursor to the actual treatment, the "unguent" (the contents of which is never revealed to us), and the one Maester who had previously given the treatment himself died of greyscale, convincing people never to try that again..

PST3

But if you see that introduction scene she is sitting at the top and at a distance from Jon by the end of the scene she comes down to his level. After her run in with male leaders she would have much faith in them.

Rhaenys Targaryen-The Queen Who Should Have Been

I've been watching reactions to GOT for 5 years now and I've always found the same thing: the vast majority of people loved season 7 (despite its flaws) and even the first half of season 8. As someone else already said, many fans who were very disappointed with the last season are ust trying to get back at D&D by focusing solely on the flaws and inconsistencies of the last seasons. It's not all perfect, but believe me, you're going to love this season. I'm even sure you'll be as excited as you were at the end of season 6 as we were in 2017. More on that at the end of the season...

Jaqen H'ghar

The next episode is a BANGER. Also, loved this episode. There are some small issues, but nothing that gets me riled up.

PST3

If it wasn't realistic it wouldn't have been popular for TV.

TheSauceGuy

Idk how Mckay can hold himself together with the Gek predictions lol.

TheSauceGuy

I love George, he talks about football and says Trump is the worst president in American history lol. I think Wun Wun killing Ser Patrick before the mutiny at Castle Black was inspired by some football event haha.

NoneOfYourBeeswax

Caesar had the resources of the Entire Roman Empire, i.e. most of Western Europe to build those ship and to feed and equip those men. Euron Greyjoy had the scant resources of the barren, treeless Iron Isle to build 1000 ships.

Amna 🍉

this show has dragons, a witch giving birth to a shadow, people warging into wolves, assassins stealing faces and skinchanging, giants, a dude called the three eyed raven who can see the past, present and future. sooooo I feel like we're already past being "realistic". when have people not liked high fanatasy.... Also if D&D weren't okay with the high fantasy aspect maybe this was not the right books for them to adapt

NoneOfYourBeeswax

"Smaller budget" seriously wtf?! Did you see the thousands of extras, the horses, the costumes and CGI for King Viserys' hunt in season one? Compare and contrast with King Robert's Royal Hunt in GoT Season one... literally five or six guys walking through the woods. THAT WAS IT! They didn't even show us the boar! GOT didn't get the $$$ thrown at it until HBO realised they had a massive hit on their hand over halfway into it's run.

NoneOfYourBeeswax

That is nothing like what happened at the beginning of the show. Have your Maester check you out; you appear to be suffering from a touch of Greyscale of the memory!

Bambina

But they did think of it. However it was banned because it was believed to be dangerous for the maesters who performed it.

jblakk

Friendly Reminder that seasons 1-3 skipped SO MANY fights. Fist of the first men. Robs men vs Tyrion and Tywin... Rob vs Jaime....and a few more im drawing a blank on. Not to mention hardhome is offscreen in the books lol. Moral of the story, you cant show everything. Not to defend future flaws, but 1000% defending this episode.

Leo

Hardhome is the best thing dumb & dumber has ever done.

1999

This seasons pacing reminds me of House of the Dragon

Bambina

To be honest I don’t remember season 5 even though I rewatched it with you a few weeks ago. It’s just non existent in my memory. Also, I think when I watched S7 first, I was so eager to see Daenerys and Jon meet after so many years, that it did hit for me. All of those reunions and characters meeting did hit when I watched it the first time. But I think what made it hit was the years spent waiting for this. You are watching the episodes back to back and this aspect of waiting so much is lost, which means you can see the flaws more clearly and not be clouded by the excitement of having those interactions after years of waiting for them.

BloodyBen

Euron Greyjoy is the biggest character assassination I've ever seen. Book Euron is one of the most menacing characters in the series.

CHIEF

The season 7 hate is mostly a rebound from season 8 reactions. As it happened I remember 7 being regarded as "fine/good with issues" season 8 would resolve, 5 was seen as an outlier or a few bad plot lines, and it was only after time passed people looked back on and soured on 7. I'm happy to see you guys enjoying it genuinely as I liked the faster pace, even if it is a bit much at times it can be exciting too. It's almost like jumping in a time machine watching you guys react and of course forming your own opinions regardless of any "consensus". I have my opinions with the benefit of a completed picture, but it's been nice to see you guys have this experience and it be so similar to mine as I watched it.

Chris Sanford

Yeah that’s fair! Euron’s makes 0 sense especially considering how extravagant they all were. Roman rowboats would’ve been wayyyyyy less work. Although the entire resources of the Roman Empire is a bit wild. Him and Rome were not on extremely friendly terms at that point in time, I’d just assume most of their resources would’ve come from the surrounding wilderness. That’s how it was when they built their bridge across the Rhine.

Chris Sanford

You only need a handful of people to know how to actually build them, everyone else can easily be used as cheap labor for the manual work. Also true Caesar would’ve had around 5 legions to so about 25,000 men, Dany should’ve had way more though. 8,000 Unsullied but at least 40,000 Dothraki as far as I remember. All of this is just a massive generalization, I’m just saying (while excluding Euron cause his was ridiculous) it’s not the most far-fetched thing to say Dany could have a huge fleet in just a month or so worth of time.

Leo

Jon has best hype men around him who hypes him so much. Sam, Tormund, Ser Davos

Nomaan

I hate when people say “season 1 was her only good season” yeah u just liked when she was a meek feeble woman that had to rely on a male character but once she stands up for herself and gets stuff done that’s when she’s unbearable 😭

Nikita M

"Weightless" is such a good way to describe how I felt when first watching most of the events of this season. I still like it but the tone of the show had definitely changed from here (more so than the change from 4 to 5 imo).

Kj

Cersei's a menace, but I'll always love Lena Headey's performance. So good

NoneOfYourBeeswax

The finale to season 6 was epic, but the complete lack of consequences to Cersei blowing up the Sept of Baelor, murdering the Tyrells and much of the Westerosi nobility and citizens of King's Landing, then usurping the Throne, beggars belief - as does the notion of the citizens of KL lining the streets to laud the notorious pirate and rebel Euron Greyjoy.

GBuckets

Season 7 isn’t horrible, pacing is just rushed and all over the place and overall not as well written as the previous seasons. Season 8 is pure ass though

Luke Crompton

Honestly man, it's just nitpicking at this point. The show is good, enjoy it for what it is. Not every episode can be a 10/10.

mk

it is my head-canon that show-euron is just victarion cosplaying as his brother

Sarah Wevers

I like season 7😭😭😭😭

Linn

I agree with feeling this season is rushed, but I never had a problem with them traveling fast. Everything that has been building for so long is coming together and I don’t really see the point in watching them travel for several episodes and dragging those parts out. In that case they would have had to add a lot more plots and content to fill out. I think we can read between the lines that not everything is played out at the same time and that large time skips are happening between some scenes and episodes.

redpgps345

the first 3 episodes of 7 are good actually though so far 🤷🏽‍♂️

Ryan Ry

A funny thing about this episode is that a lot of fans think this episode marked a point where Tyrion turned stupid. However, if you pay close attention, the failure of his plan was entirely caused by fig of war issues. Euron's Iron Fleet intercepting Yara and Theon's Iron Fleet while the latter was carrying the Dornish delegation back to Dorne was bad luck. The thing about Dragonstone is that it lies in the middle of the mouth of Blackwater Bay. As Euron happened to be leaving King's Landing, his course crossed Yara's course, and it just so happened that the two fleets ended up at the point where their courses intersected at the same time. As far as not foreseeing the Lannister army taking the Reach while the Tyrell army besieged King's Landing and the Unsullied sacked Casterly Rock goes, that all hinged on a single piece of information that Tyrion was never privy to. Back when Tyrion was in the dungeons awaiting trial for allegedly killing Joffrey, Tywin and Cersei had a conversation in which Tywin revealed that the gold mines in the Westerlands had run out of ore three years earlier. Cersei was the only one of Tywin's children that he shared this piece of information with–Tyrion didn't know. Thinking that the gold mines in the Westerlands were still operational, Tyrion understandably overestimated the value that Casterly Rock had to his siblings–the information he had access to would suggest that the Lannister home territory was materially essential to Cersei's ability to fund (and thus keep) her armies, so it was natural that he would assume his siblings would devote a lot of their strength to protecting their home. What he didn't know was that the mines where now worthless, so Casterly Rock had nothing more than sentimental value at this point. Thus, Cersei and Jaime could, beyond realistic possibility for Tyrion to foresee it, deploy almost the entirety of the Lannister army in other fronts. Had he known that Casterly Rock was of no material value, it's possible that he might have foreseen Highgarden being targeted, but he had no way of knowing that Casterly Rock was of no material value. If Melissandre asked Dany to summon Jon SPECIFICALLY to tell her about what he saw in The North, WHY would Dany doubt him? Yet we get the typical, "You're wrong. I'm Dany and I'm a Targaryen and I have dragons so everyone has to do what I want. Even though I've been in hiding my whole life and have no idea how the continent I want to rule works since I haven't been here in over 20 years and I was an infant." Dany REALLY starts going downhill for me as of the last episode. Actually since season 6×9 actually. She IS a true Targaryen. The merchant in Quarth was right! Ned DID know what Robert was trying to do to Dany and resigned his post as Hand of the King because of it. In my opinion, daenerys wasn't mad because she got her first "no", she started getting angry because davos was rude to her, which was BEFORE jon refused kneeling before her. I think you have to see both sides, they were both ignorants. Jon needed her, he didn't know how to explain the dead to her (and I know it's hard, I mean, even Ned didn't believe in the WW), he wanted something but didn't want to give anything in return, not even his support and he was cocky too (with a little help from davos). If daenerys was a bitch or a child, jon was as well, his pride was bigger than his purpuse to save peoples lives. I'm not trying to defend daenerys, like I said, they were BOTH ignorant and annoying towards each other. ALSO NOT ATTACKING JON, He had reasons to NOT bend the knee, but daenerys had reasons to be pissed too.

Nomaan

Yes Daenerys is being quite arrogant IN RESPONSE to Jon. Its a little unbearable but this man has come to ask her for help but giving nothing in return? This whole meeting just didnt make sense to me. Poor writing. But at least she allowed him to mine the dragonglass. A step in the right direction.

Leo

He is fighting for living not for himself. That is everyone problem.

Nomaan

Yes so to save everyone he should bend the knee and ensure her help as quickly as possible then shouldn’t he?

emma.bean

dany, girl… the titles are out of control. every time I watch that introduction I hearken back to king robert’s “titles, titles” line

Leo

How can he bend the knee to some stranger without knowing her properly? He is giving nothing in return? If he is able to defeat night king with that dragonstone he is giving her life and kingdom to rule in return.

Nomaan

How can she go help a stranger without knowing him properly? And no, he hasn’t come JUST for dragonglass. He’s come to use her armies and dragons in the fight which is a lot to ask for considering she’s already in a war for the throne.

Leo

Okay, We both are coming with fair points 😁

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Nah they were definitely out of their depth, they had to reshoot the pilot, idky HBO let them go ahead after that, but they also only wanted to get to 3x9 Red Wedding. They completely checked out after that, being incredibly petty, dismissive and apathetic towards cast and crew once they won Emmys and GOT theirs. I feel bad for them having this bad rap to carry, but they earned it through their entitled self serving behavior and continuing air of remorseless superiority. If they want to genuinely be sorry and stop belittling fans for valid criticism I'll not despise them, but until then they should be exposed as con artists or they'll continue to scam and exploit INNOCENTS.

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Just don't take ppls comments so personally, srs, or black and white, elaborating often tells a different story. Tone in text is hard to translate, I don't assume any of my opinions are finite or superior. Most of the time I'm just wilding out being a silly billy cuz why not? 🤦🏾‍♀️🤣 I do have ample evidence that Dan and Dave suck as people, and obviously care about that, but I'd be happy to (stfu about it) or draw a different conclusion with contrary evidence.

Nomaan

No the only people that deserve disrespect in these last 2 seasons are the writers 🙂😭

Jake

Rest in peace Queen Olenna

Jake

The pacing hurts 😭 it’s good tho, but it hurts

emma.bean

also jon is the love of my life, HOWEVER, now that i’m older (by five whole years😂) and my taste in men has matured, I find myself more and more drawn to jamie. he is kind of a daddy. i think he has unseated jon as sexiest man in westeros in 2024, for me. 🔥

Agent September 🏴‍☠️

I'm not reading all of this but I agree tyrion was never a military man, there is no reason to think he would be good at planning an invasion of westeros like why was there no master of war?

Agent September 🏴‍☠️

Rewatching Bran's reunion with Sansa and one line in particular really pissed me off on rewatch. If yk yk

CoLdBITeR

Not really, she has three dragon's that can just wipe out the white walkers. Danny isn't in trouble at all.

lily p

But where was she standing up for herself here? She’s just arrogant and that’s okay to admit.

raye

like D&D have no idea what media literacy is

Amna 🍉

I feel like Jon bringing up Aemon Targaryen and how he worked with him would've been a good topic to bring up with Dany....oh wait D&D forgot

Billie

Davos is a legend just as Liam Cunningham is one irl. such a great actor and human

Sean Carroll

First time I’ve seen this episode in a few years and it’s far worse than I remember, 4/10 Positives: Cersei killing elaria is a very well done scene Olenna death scene is very good and a fantastic way for her to go out putting the middle finger up to Jaime Now the negatives

Leo

That irritation on Carter and cannon faces when dany talking about herself 😂🤣🤣

Billie

jaime comes to face olenna: me: brightness and volume up bby

Derek

Sam the Slayer!!!!

Nope

Your first sentence is already spoilish/talking about future character development

Ryan Ry

“ A funny thing about this episode is that a lot of fans think this episode marked a point where Tyrion turned stupid. ”? This sentence? You’re wild.

Niffol

mostly us book nerds who hate it with such a passion. because we have the template for what will/could/are happening to compare the show to. i imagine the hate in myself will reemerge if we get the next book and it is good.

Niffol

Typical W Cannon take about missandei.

Sean Carroll

Negatives: Dragonstone: Tyrion refers to the battle at Blackwater where he killed Davos son Mathos and yet Davos shakes his hand and makes a joke about the battle. Like seriously does he even care about his son anymore? I guess dumb and dumber didn’t want to introduce that potential mini conflict because they are rushing everything to the finish line. Dany questions whether Ned knew that Robert organised assassins to come after her and viserys, yes Ned did know about that and was willing to throw his friendship with Robert away if Robert followed through with that. Then Dany says “not that it matters now of course”….. then why the hell are you bringing it up if it’s not relevant at all. Dany constantly ignores what Jon is saying and brings up points to counter Jon which has no relevance to the discussion he is trying to have with her. How did Theon survive the freezing water all night, how did the thousands of ships not find Theon when euron knows he escaped off the ship? How did yaras men just somehow survive and return able to find Theon, why would they return if they assume that Theon and yara were either captured or killed? Kings landing: 3 episodes ago Cersei blew up the sept of Baelor and cannon specifically said “the citizens of kings landing will hate her now”, well that does make complete sense however when euron parades yara and the dornish through the street the citizens are cheering for euron and therefore directly cheering for Cersei… did they just forget that Cersei caused an explosion a few episodes ago or have they already forgiven her? The writers clearly either don’t remember what they wrote or simply don’t care about the logistics of these threads. The citizens would not cheer for Cersei considering they were throwing and slitting on her in season 5 during her walk of atonement so why the hell are they cheering for her now, she hasn’t done anything new to warrant support from the people, no to mention the ironborn are severely hated so euron being celebrated makes no sense either. Next we have eurons absolutely appalling dialogue about sticking a finger up cerseis bum, us fans know how severely that line has been memed for the last seven years so I’m just going to leave that there. When Cersei is with ellaria and tyene in the cell Cersei says “I imagine she is your favourite”, well given how tyene is ellarias only daughter and the other sand snakes are oberyns daughters from different women of course tyene will be ellarias favourite?? Did dumb and dumber just forget the dornish plot details? This line makes no sense but what could I expect from these idiots. Also given that Cersei has them under her thumb why didn’t she try and bargain with ellaria for information on Dany’a cause, I suppose ellaria knows it’s a dead end so won’t bother telling her anything so I guess that makes a little sense. RIP DORNE PLOTLINE, a fantastically written plot in the book completely ruined by dumb and dumber. The guy from the iron bank congratulates Cersei on being the first female ruler of the seven kingdoms, if I’m not mistaken isn’t rhaenerya from house of the dragon the queen of the seven kingdoms so i guess dumb and dumber forgot that too?? Why did he congratulate her on destroying the faith militant when she still has an outstanding debt to pay? What benefit does destroying the sept have to him? Winterfell: Sansa makes some major errors when talking to little finger, he says he knows Cersei best of anyone currently at winterfell which is absolutely true however she argues that he doesn’t? What? She then says that Cersei murdered her mother father and brother… but she didn’t, Joffrey ordered Ned’s death which Cersei tried to stop, and Tywin organised the red wedding with walder Frey which resulted in roose Bolton killing robb and one of the Frey sons killing catelyn. Then little finger tells Sansa to be prepared for all outcomes and any eventuality which is great advice for her to use on littelfinger later.. like seriously does little finger not think through anything anymore? What have they done to one of the most Goated characters in this show. Why is littlefinger still alive considering Sansa hates him so much? She could just tell lord Royce about lysa being killed by littlefinger and he would have littlefinger executed immediately, also where the hell is Robyn Arryn considering his army is here? Is he just afk for the time being because the actor can’t make it? Or do dumb and dumber just not have any idea what to do with him. The reunion between bran and Sansa is terrible, I understand that bran is totally mentally gone now and become something else but to remind Sansa of the trauma of her wedding night to Ramsay is disgusting writing on dumb and dumber behalf considering they would know how controversial that episode was when it aired. Also bran tells Sansa it’s difficult to explain the three eyed raven concept and as cannon said it’s literally not, it would take him about 30 seconds maximum to explain the basic gist of it and maybe another minute or two to explain what he’s done since season 1 when they separated, brans story is so slow boring and terrible it wouldn’t take any time at all to explain everything he’s done since then. Also why hasn’t Sansa brought up rickon to bran? I know bran knows this but she still didn’t mention it when he’s their little brother, do they just not care about him or did dumb and dumber just think there was no time to have a scene discussing rickons death. Sam: I genuinely believe this to be one of the most insulting things that Dumb and dumber have ever written. Greyscale has been told to us to be this deadly disease that is practically incurable and yet Sam who just arrived to the citadel with no previous experience on operations is somehow able to cure Jorah of all his greyscale in one night???????? FUCK THAT, this is an absolute insult to all of us who watched this show and took it seriously for so long, to make something so dangerous and severe into something so easy simply because they want to bring Jorah back into the mix is absolutely flat out braindead. I hate this entire story regarding Sam healing Jorah. Casterly rock and highgardenn: So last episode Tyrion said that Dany shouldn’t attack Cersei in kings Landing because inherently thousands of innocents will die, well as I explained this is obviously not the case. Tyrion however is now happy to sacrifice thousands of unsullied soldiers against what he believes to be 10000 Lannister men, why is Dany allowing this? Also as I said casterly rock is really unimportant right now so why attack in the first place. The fight choreography is also terrible in this battle and the spear thrown through that soldiers armour causing him to pierce into the door is a defying of the laws of physics, that is not how that works. How the hell did eurons fleet manage to make it from kings landing to casterly rock in what is literally 20-30 episode minutes??? Why did the unsullied go through severely hostile waters to get to casterly rock, from dragonstone that is a journey along the south of Westeros and back up again. It’s not logical when you look at the map. Now that eurons fleet has taken over the unsullied army does that mean that greyworm etc are all dead now? I guess not, he will probably just teleport back to dragonstone. Also why did Dany send another fleet to casterly rock after having just lost the Greyjoys fleet on her team? Is she really so willing to throw away the members of her army? Why did Tyrion not advise against this? God the stupidity of these decisions is making my brain hurt. How the hell did the Tyrell army get annihilated by the lannisters offscreen? Why is everything so damn rushed to the point of making no sense? Other general comments now that we are halfway though season. 1. What was the point of the faith storyline? Cersei wiped them out after 2 seasons of buildup and there is literally no ramifications for this action in the story, the way it’s shown to us is that the faith militant never existed. 2. Cersei has lost all depth and become a stereotypical villain I’m genuinely thinking of rating this episode a 3/10 now after this rant, such a bad episode

Sean Carroll

We never said every episode has to be 10/10, but when things make zero sense and the writers forget the literal story they are writing it lends to it becoming a bad show to watch (at this point)

Brandon Kidd

Holy cannoli. I ate lunch, took a nap, and folded my laundry by the time I was done reading that. All very good points though.

Rasmus Kjær Poulsen

Its not even the plot from this point on that makes the show seem off.. Its the dialogue that is weird. The dialogue feels unnatural or at the very least it seems so much different from the other seasons. And the plot does seem a bit "fanservice" ish. Still enjoying the show though.

Rasmus Kjær Poulsen

Well some of the dialogue. The Tyrell at the end was pretty good. But some of the dialogues seem to keep going for far longer that it should, instead of people getting right to the point.

TheFinePlayer

Haven't read any of all that. Just came to say; holy shit, you're insane. xD

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Yeah I can't read this either, but I agree cuz I know what it says lol, but can't you let them find this stuff on their own? You're taking away from all the glorious vids they'll have to watch about all this.

darist

Man I hate Euron so much, I swear all his scenes on their own sunk this episode so much for me

andrés

Negativity as an opener does tend to have that effect unfortunately. Hopefully more productive discussions all around going forward tho

Ophelia

Same I despise her character even with the bad writing she’s dealt in some of these later episodes she still does such a wonderful job

Daniella

Yeah idk about Bran lol because the old three eyed raven didn't have this no emotion personality like i get it, it's similar to Eren but at least Eren knew he had to sacrifice himself, hence him cutting everyone off. I would rather Bran be this nervous, idk-how-to-work-this-power personality than whatever he is now [no spoilers].

Sora

davos kinda forgot about his son lmao

Teilo HD

After this could you guys please watch money heist, you would love it.

Dzejno

any chance that 7x4 drops today?

Mysterious Figure

The first reaction ser Davos has upon meeting Tyrion, a man responsible for killing his only son with wildfire and sinking all those ships... is a flirty, heeey to Missandei - where are you from girl? I guess he just forgot he is standing in front of the man that cost him his only son... did the writing forget itself as well? But a man has to flirt first before anything else. IT IS KNOWN!

Delane Gill

Yeah I’ll be honest, I enjoyed this season when I first watched it but every subsequent watch is just worse and worse because I pick up on the lazy writing choices and bad dialogue which was hard to pick out when you’re taking it all in for the first time. Teleporting armies and characters, dumb decisions, cringeworthy dialogue etc. it just makes you wonder how we could’ve had something so much better with this season

Tabitha

Episode 9 and 10 of season 6 are gone can you please post them again

Tabitha

Nevermind they’re still there they’re just not in the collections

Scinaps

So I heard we are down to 2 a week instead of 3. What's the reason for this? Why drag out the series at this point???

Scinaps

No there is rumors now they only do 2 instead of 3 a week

Lydia

i havent even watched this upload yet but i need 7x4 like i need air! give me to me pleaseeee

Junior

They want people to keep their subscriptions for a longer period of time. I subbed because I wanted to watch the final episodes earlier, but at this rate it's gonna take them longer than one month to finish it. I'm not paying for a second month, I just feel cheated lol

Scinaps

I'm afraid I have to agree. I genuinely like the boys so it's sad I'll be judged as hater by the fans here but jesus why not just stick to a schedule and finish a show already I feel like any criticism on wanting to get my moneys worth is always met with hate on these patreon communities which hurts when I'm engaged with the content and always trying to be respectful ffs

Mysterious Figure

No, that's actually Addie. She is the most down bad Gek no question. 😂😂 Even she would probably say this.

Ophelia

Same I keep checking hoping they upload e4 Im so excited for it lol

Thomas Strunk

Davos is a smart/logical guy. He understands they were on opposite sides of a war; it's not like Tyrion targeted Davos or his son explicitly. It doesn't really make sense for him to hold a grudge in this case.

Nomaan

I mean I think maybe it’s not full time since people are going back to school or work? Idk about their situation tho😭

Thomas Strunk

HoTD S2 is nowhere as bad as S8 GoT. It's actually the exact opposite in terms of pacing lol

Scinaps

@ ophelia based on the comments here it legit looks like they cut from 3 to 2 ... I'm upset because they never made an official announcement

Bellaa

People complaining about the uploads… like they arent watching multiple shows at once and sometimes movies. they put out a great amount of content for 5 guys who are living their own separate lives and they already spend so much time and effort on pleasing us. Have some patience 💓 that being said i want shippuden as soon as you guys can give it to us🤭

Scinaps

In the words of Deus Ex Adam Jensen: I never asked for this.

Bellaa

mad i called u out🤨. “i didnt sign up for movie night i want GOT”

Mysterious Figure

Im not saying he is supposed to hold a grudge towards Tyrion. He is supposed to have a REACTION to the situation where is is REMINDED of his son's death by meeting a person responsible for it. INSTEAD, the FIRST thing he does is make a stupid flirty comment. Like HUH?? He was super angry at Melisandre to the point of threatening to outright kill her because she participated in the sacrifice of princess Shireen, but for some reason he COMPLETELY forgets to even take a moment to remember his ONLY SON? Are you for real? If you have ever had anyone of your loved ones die, you would most certainly understand this is not how humans or, life, works.

Scinaps

Why would I be mad I said exactly what I want to see

Bellaa

your response to my comment seems like u were bothered by what i had to say

Joe Mama

Yeah that’s Sansa and Bran reunion still pisses me off. Such an out of pocket thing for him to say

Scinaps

No I literally meant I never asked for movie night I want GoT with the boys 😆 I don't want some random ass movie nights I want to see 3 eps of GoT a week solid

Mysterious Figure

It doesnt matter that he mentions it later. The scene is just done in such poor taste. Made Davos look so bad and inhuman, which he is not. But that small "minute moment" paints the bigger picture which shows the lack of attention to detail in these seasons post season 4. And it makes characters appear cheap somehow. Like shell versions of themselves. Like all the layers have been stripped down severely. Thats why those characters stopped feeling like "real people" but instead like people from some TV show, while before they actually felt almost like something from real history as Carter nicely noticed.

Scinaps

OK so I hate to do this but imma start meowing and giving you Shrek Puss in Boots eyes until you grow a conscience and explain officially why we went from 3 to 2 eps a week 🙃 🥺🥹😿

darist

Did they actually say this? I just assumed they were unable to get 3 up last week and that we'd be back to normal now

Scinaps

There was never an official statement but I saw official account say on one post that is it only Tue and Thursday now and I'm about to riotttttt

Scinaps

Look at their comments on previous episodes in admin mode

Eddy

I think these seasons are decent watching, just not up to GoT standards, and the reason it has such a negative reaction from people is because what should be the crowning seasons of an otherwise amazing series, just come across a little bit generic and rushed, resulting in the world feeling smaller and characters feeling like they don't live up to their established personalities. I don't think they're bad. And I don't think anyone is wrong for enjoying them. There are certainly still some great moments to come. But I agree that they left a bit of a sour note.

Nasty

Could be one piece taking a slot or something since there are so many one piece episodes they upload. Which is too bad.

Eddy

Good points, but dude, take a chill pill. I felt like I was going to have an aneurysm just reading it. By all means point out the inconsistencies, but they're not going to remake the show based on a Patreon comment, and it’s not these lads fault.

Eddy

He always comes across as someone I want to grab a drink with at the pub

thebirdcatcher1

This episode commits the first unforgivable sin. Dany raises up at Jon Snow with "Torrhen Stark, the King who Knelt, was the last King in the North. Or do I have my facts wrong?" And Jon says fuck all. Jon memory-holing Robb is unforgivable.

Sean Carroll

Yeah and in episode 5 he makes a joke of it and that’s the end of it, no anger or anything it’s just so weird of Davos when we know he cared so much about shireen but he’s making jokes to Tyrion about his sons death

Sean Carroll

1. I am chill, just making my comment 2. I know the show won’t be remade 3. I never said it was the lads fault, don’t know where you got that from

studiogek

It's still going to be 3 a week, we are just more than a week ahead of the YouTube schedule. 7x4 will be out tomorrow

Enma

I love backshots, man. I could watch Jaime walk around High Garden for hours.

ken

I don’t get this criticism. What is he supposed to yell at Tyrion for killing his son? It was war they were going to kill a lot of other people sons if given the chance. I don’t see why he would bring his son up

Schnuffel

It's insane to me how much time u spend on something that u obviously hate, why dont you just do or watch something that you enjoy instead? or do you enjoy hating? Serious question, not trying to be mean

Has

"is he on ashwagandha" ahahaha

Tieland

You missed my point but that's OK. I wasn't here for an argument. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I understand that your opinion may differ from mine and that's OK!! My life doesn't hang on this show. 😊

Uros Vesic

I am looking forward to next episodes and your comments my good man.

Uros Vesic

Season 7 is still fun to watch, but it has glaring issues with writing. I guess it is not as prevalent on first watch, but they are there.

Sean Carroll

Schnuffel: I love season 1 -4 of GOT and I am a supporter of the geks since AOT so im going to comment on the episodes my thoughts. I dont enjoy hating, im just a guy giving my thoughts on something no matter how negative i deem it to be.

dylan brown

If you want to better understand the hate of the later seasons, imagine yourselves waiting 18+ months between seasons. Imagine having to wait 2 years for Season 8 after this season. Also lol @ "my goat has been feeling less goaty"

Josh Viz

A break can he nice! In all honesty the Octobers post a bit slowly so letting their contact build up feels like the strategy to go with

Nomaan

Can u read? I’m clearly responding to Sean where he said season 1 was her only interesting season. Relax

lily p

Did you make it clear you were only responding to sean? Cause you just said a general statement, so how about you relax

Lady Stoneheart (Uncat)

Yeah I'm kind of disappointed tbh with their selection lately, trapped under just a couple genres of the same group of tv/movies. I keep suggesting ways to mix up but they're on their own thing I guess 🤷🏾‍♀️😐

Caraxes🐐DT

Did the geks catch jon telling dany that he don’t enjoy what he’s good at(which is killing) but also barristan told dany Rhaegar didn’t like killing even tho he was a good fighter?? Like father like son

lola

GIVE US 7x4!!!! THE PEOPLE NEED IT!!

darist

Can't believe I never noticed that till you mentioned it

Sora

He is supposed to say something I guess. U don’t have to go out of ur way to pretend a father would not do it just to make sense of the show

Amna 🍉

This!! I've noticed people who binge watch the whole show don't dislike it as much as people who have waited the almost 2 years for season 7 and then another almost 2 years for season 8. That's why they were so disappointing to watch in real time

Paul Durbin

Cannon's gonna go off the next episode "wtf are the haters even on about!??" Haha I can see it already

Becca

Im so hype for ep 4

Nomaan

Patiently waiting for episode 4🌚

Scinaps

Am I the only one getting the "No recent activity" error?

I❤️movies&tvshows

Carter said below that episode 4 would be out today. So excited! There are only 6 hours left today. Should we start a countdown for it? Lol. Just kidding. That is meant as a joke. 😂😂

Gam Mac

One of the main complaints for season 7 was the pacing. When you guys liked the pacing of HotD I knew you guys would like season 7.

Tori

Patiently awaiting ep 4☺️☺️

Dzejno

EP 4 ETA???

TheSauceGuy

LMAO, he 100% is going to do this. I'm not a "hater," I'm more like a disappointed parent and GoT S7 is my child.

Paul Durbin

Haha I feel you. Next episode is kinda the only ray of light in the overcast gloomy weather that is season 7

I❤️movies&tvshows

I think Jaimie’s armor is good to look at. Very drippy as the younger people say. I also enjoy just watching him walk around in it

Sean Carroll

Yep, ep 4 is the only passable episode delving into good. Ep 5 onwards though…. Oh boy it’s rough

Paul Durbin

Ye ep5 is kinda forgettable. Ep6 is the slap across the face that really made me realize how shit this season was. Ep7 was just more of the same.

Ophelia

PLEASE 7x4 YOU PROMISED 😭😂😂😂

Bri-Ana Monique

I thought it would be a good idea to watch 7x4 while I wait for them to drop their reaction, and it just made me more impatient than I was before 😂😮‍💨

Al Boxley

If you haven’t watched the Dark reaction they dropped today you should check it out. Even if ya haven’t seen the show before

Bri-Ana Monique

I had never watched it before and after watching their reaction to it this morning, I immediately went to Netflix to watch the next episodes 😂 such a good show

AlecSinWonderland

Tell Cersei, I want her to know it was me 🎤 ⬇️

darist

Based on his character I wouldn't expect Davos to be angry or have some serious reaction, but I do agree it's weird how it's not even acknowledged at all, not even a facial expression or anything that hints to it. I don't agree with the comparison to Melisandre and Shireen though, two completely different situations imo

A_Daddy Daichi

lily p, yes I did. one of the things I truly was upset about. made me dislike her

A_Daddy Daichi

I’m late but S7 does have its enjoyable moments for sure but the decline in writing is there. I still enjoy most of it! Carter & Cannon saying “that’s not what he’s talking about” at the same time is hilarious. Their conversation wasn’t my favorite Cersei’s get back at Ellaria was satisfying no matter how I feel about her OLENA MY QUEEN!!! She was such a goat and went out like a G

hasaad woods

“Missandei is so bad” absolutely.

Blackeyedlily

There are definitely no spoilers in that video if you have seen up through season six. There is another video that I think doesn’t get enough credit in the fandom, that does a similar job of showing important narrative clues that most people never pick up on. But it can’t be watched before the end of season seven without spoiling a couple of important things. So I always wait to suggest it until then. I’m always very careful about spoilers. As a big fan of the books, I like to suggest where I think the book series adds a lot more depth to the overall story. But I’m always careful that anything I share from the books does nothing to spoil the upcoming plot. I just want to encourage people that if they enjoy the show there is much more to the story in the books, including some great characters that the show never bothered with.

Blackeyedlily

I think this season is where characters start to behave very out of character, because they were now writing for where they wanted the plot to go. So the characters now had to do things to get them to the end the show runners wanted. These guys have already noticed that phenomenon with Littlefinger, who began the journey of going out of character in season five. But there are plenty more who join him in these final two seasons IMO.

Veronia

Carter saying it feels more like a tv show is actually the perfect way to describe the vibe of this season, Not that it’s still not enjoyable to watch

SomeoneElse

The destruction of Bran's character is so frustrating to witness here.

G

He on ashwganda😭😭🤣
