Season 2 is mostly just set-up for Season 3, so a fair warning if the narrative(s) feel a bit disjointed or incomplete, it's imo the weakest. But SUPER HAPPY you guys loved this so much and are seeing why it's the best live-action series of all time!

Understanding is not the same thing as condoning, so I'm glad you guys clarified that you UNDERSTAND Ulrich's motives. Ulrich doesn't have enough evidence and doesn't even know for certain if he can impact events, he's just making assumptions. I would've gone for the conversation approach, which Ulrich kinda skipped right over lmao. I don't think I could bring myself to do what Ulrich did, even if the kid was literally Hitler or something lol.

Dark is a 9.9 through and through for me and I have had a difficult time getting people to watch it. GOT however seems to be the easier one to recommend. People love fantasy!

I honestly feel nothing about Ulrich, but I also haven't watched all s3, and have forgotten most of s2 tbh 🤷🏾‍♀️ Would I kill bby Hitler? No cuz people don't work like that lol, there is no "destiny" towards evil doing, he was inclined, but a lot of fears and beliefs are what drove him. Many atrocities, if not in impact, at least approach that level of cruelty. But I also think this show in particular makes it clear that 'free will' in itself, is a muddled concept.

Egon quotes the same lyric to Ulrich during that scene. Ulrich hate Egon and like to messing with him but its dumb to quote that in 53' when you are suspected of being a crazed psycho child killer. Also fun fact, the lyrics appear at the 33-second mark of the original song.

I’m just going to say, the only time I disliked Ulrich was when he was cheating on his wife. I thought it was fkd up for him to beat Helge almost to death, yes, but I couldn’t honestly dislike him for it. My logic in that was that If I meet the person whom I believed murdered my kid and other kids at that, I would probably contemplate resorting to killing him before he did it as well. Since he’s a kid though, I would opt to look out for him to make sure it doesn’t happen, but I can’t say I don’t understand why someone would choose to kill him instead. Also the scene where Helge and Noah kidnap Jonas and throw him in the room where the other kids were essentially tortured (burnt eyes and eardrums) and thrown in a different timeline to be found was for me a confirmation that Ulrich was right in believing Helge was the culprit. Only it wouldn't prevent the future where his brother and the other kid died since Noah is still in action.

One of your gripes that I don't understand is Helge outrunning a 48-year-old, who also happens to be tired and confused. I could outrun my adoptive father when he was like ~50 and I was ~9 and he was in good shape.

Why did Ulrich need to check Helge's pulse? Helge would've been dead if it wouldn't have been for the worm hole. There's no way he could've predicted that. Also, how do you think him explaining time travel to people in the 50's would've worked out? 😂I don't think anything he could've said or done would have helped him in that situation

seeing the geks give season 1 9.5/10 is insane considering it's the weakest season by far i woudn't be surprised if they give season 2 and 3 9.9/10 back to back

Season 2 is an easy 10/10. However season 3 is a bit controversial. Some people love it, others get completely lost and end up not understanding half of it. Considering their ways of watching shows, not paying attention to half of the dialogues and bambling nonsense throughout the episode, I'm pretty sure they're gonna get lost by 3x1 and not enjoy the rest that much. That's a season you REALLY need to pay close attention to follow without getting lost.

I left a comment on one of the previous episodes about Ulrich trying to kill kid Helge and seeing it as a baby hitler situation and I just want to clarify that I didn’t mean it as a justification from a moral standpoint it rather an explanation of what was probably going through his head when he did it. I absolutely agree that he’s a terrible person, it’s just that you can see why in his state of mind he thought he was doing something good. At the end of the day it’s a sign of him being a well-written villain in the show since he’s one who wholeheartedly believes that he’s justified in his evil acts. Thanks for the videos and I’m happy to see you guys getting into the show so much and looking forward to more to come!

Yep, the rewatch value on this show is ... a flat circle lol. The 8 rates are probably only compared to the other 'better'/more favored episodes in the show itself. I thought that's how all IMDb rates worked? Good observations & discussion, I do recall s2 being epic even if I don't remember it all atm, but I think that's the point, you're not supposed to remember everything in shows like this, because it's so complex and that's where the rewatchability thrives. I'm literally watching getting just as excited about plot twists and reveals as the first time, those are my fav kinna shows. The ones you remember as epic but can't recall every detail except while watching it.

I dont know if you guys have mentioned this but what I found a really interesting scene is when Ulrich confronts Helge for the first time in the nursing home and Helge starts freaking out and starts saying "it's him". Imagine waking up and seeing the random dude who tried to murder you 66 years ago.

I think its basically a way to refer to people who have spoiled stuff in previous episode comment sections by pointing out stuff which is more obvious when you've watched ahead compared to the geks. The example here for the reveal about the future is how theres only a few small hints that we would get to see the future such as the future tech torch that Jonas received. At first glance you could just write off the torch as just being advanced tech but not actually from the future but "hindsight merchants" who have the context and knowledge of this final episode probably told the geks in a previous episode's comment section that the torch is from the future and so slightly spoiled the reveal that we will get to see the future in the show

Yes - u know whats Happening BUT its similar to AOT…u catch other hints, some Talks between certain people suddenly make more Sense and so on. Geks, the reason Jonas goes 66 years ahead is explained lile 2 scenes before it happens. The chair enhances the energy released when the passage is opened. Jonas was in the room when the chair existed, Helge wasnt so he only went 33 forward.

Helge's Memory is triggered by Ulrich waking him up and all his repressed trauma coming to the surface because Ulrich looks exactly like he did the day he bashed Helge with the stone.

He is a desparate man trying to save his son. Any real father would do anything to try and save their own son, no matter the cost. From what I remember season 1 is the best because it's the most concise. Season 2 introduces some stuff that aren't EXACTLY what wanted maybe and season 3 was a little all over the place but still good and ends very good. I'm pumped to rewatch it so I can revisit my ratings

Yep that is what triggers his memory. It is also a big chunk of paradoxes. Ulrich sees the coin and the book in 2019 + hears Helge say "I can change it, the past and the future." He then goes to 1953, says that line to Helge, and shows him the coin and the book. They both showed those items to each other + said the line to each other.

Tbf, there is a lot of hints towards the future, all the way to the opening montage of episode 1. From the moment Charlotte discovers the wallpaper in the bunker and we see what it looks like in 1953 = The Bunker with all the pictures and weapons has to be the future.

Guys please pay some attention to the live action part of your content too. The proportion is so heavily skewed towards anime that LA almost feels like a side gig sometimes. I am exclusively subscribed to the early access LA tier and although I love the reactions, to be honest I don't really think it has been really satisfactory. The drops are not only sporadic but seldom too. And this week there has only been a solitary upload on this side while you guys not only drop multiple reactions for anime shows but you keep on adding more of them too. I guess there are 5 anime shows running concurrently now to one over here and this is very disproportionate and actually unfair. Please, please try to strike some balance between both. I request you. I hope you guys understand where I am coming from.

He has been having flashes of remembering all season since episode 1. Seeing Ulrich is what triggers him being coherent enough to properly act on it and travel back to 1986. Prior to that he just wandered into the school in ep1 saying "It will happen again" Then wandered aimlessly trying to find the way to the cave on the night Elizabeth was temporarily missing.
