All I can say is personally, I was very happy with the way the manga was concluded. I didnd't have more questions or anything like that. And I liked it so much, I actually read the manga three times. Also I think the only way for the anime to give the manga justice is with one more season plus a movie, or just a season. I also personally feel like Bokuto's little quirks are part of his charms.

Explanation on Hoshiumi's (bird eye guy) eye design: His team name is Kamomedai, "Kamome" means "seagull" in japanese. Seagulls have those kind of eyes, so its basically a pun by the author. There are a lot in other teams as well.

to be fair, the story structure of haikyuu or any sports anime have an easier way of ending compared to battle shounen where the stakes and settings are much more complicated. Not tryna discredit Furudate sensei but the comparisons are just unfair.

The ceiling serve is rare but you still see it in indoor high school national tournament in Japan. It’s very efficient since the lighting is so bright and the ceiling is so high. You can find some clips on YouTube!

In the manga, we get a tiny bit of info on the teams before the match starts. This team, Tsubakihara, won second place in their prefecture and this is their second appearance in nationals, it also happens it's a consecutive year. Karasuno on the other hand, this is their 9th appearance in nationals, with a 5 years gap between the last time and now.

The way I always tear up when Tashiro (the senior from Karasuno who told Daichi and the third years to grab their opportunity to revive Karasuno if they ever saw it) gets flashbacks to the time when the three third years were still lil babies in their first year and then it transitions to them playing so expertly in the present game. I always get chills when the announcers introduce Hoshiumi. The ost that plays in the background is so epic!! His character design is very much reminiscent of a seagull if you guys aren't aware haha. There's a funny meme that goes around the fandom that says everyone in Haikyuu has weird hair colours and eye colours but still manage to look like a normal human for the most part, and then there's Hoshiumi who basically looks like a bird. I laugh so hard at it every time. Hinata always has that crazy, thousand-yard stare with an unnervingly unhinged expression and we love to see it HAHAH! He's done that thrice so far, iirc, once in s1 ep1, once in s4 ep 4, and now once in s4 ep 12! Seeing someone who's in a fundamentally similar position as him playing so much better than he does really made him want to improve, and it's always heartwarming to see Hinata striving to be the best version of himself, which is what Hoshiumi's character is basically implying. He CAN be that good, and he CAN compete with someone like that if he improves himself!

There is plenty of content in nationals that are cut and a bunch of content after nationals that the movies are simply gonna pretend it don't exist. I will say that many of yall's dreams for this show might come true in the Manga but unfortunately the anime adaptation decided that it was important so they cut everything out. They re adapting more then 100 chapters into a single movie... They re cutting more then half of the remaining content of the manga..

Great reactions! When we played volleyball in gym class I would always do the underhand serve because I couldn't do the other serves well. I wish we could have more seasons. I'm hoping after the next movie maybe they may decide to do more seasons. I started reading the manga to see how far it goes since it has 400+ chapters. Some pros do the moon ball serve in beach volleyball bc of the wind, sun, and no ceiling but I think it's kinda looked at as a showboat move. I doubt anyone does that in indoor, but I could def be wrong.

They decided to do movies instead of the series because Anime movies tend to make studios more money than seasons do in Japan. It's why Demon Slayer has gone the route it has for its conclusion after Mugen Train's success.

Brig, I don't see any hindsight merchant-ing in past comments about Tanaka being the next Ace. Anyway, the show (Ukai) has already mentioned Tanaka has the potential to be the next Ace. To me, it's the show hinting he will be Ace the next year. Since 3rd Years will be gone the next year, Tanaka will most probably be Karasuno's Ace unless a really good 1st year joins the team.

In addition I read somewhere that the director of season 1-3 says he can't do Haikyuu again unless it's a movie because a series is too taxing for his health with its tight schedule and budget. Considering how season 4 sales bombed without him I don't think the studio want to work on Haikyuu without him

Jack is right. Hinata is so buns at serve so he should just get it in. It's really not that hard. But on real competitive level nobody is as bad as Hinata and they can't afford to make it super easy for the opponent to build up their attack.
