drewisdum

Glad y’all got it

ZYGGY

"To save Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else, you must see it through."

Tkdmegs

Yall are feeding us GOOD today😫

The Owl

"Whose memories are those" is the line that messed me up for sooooo long, waiting to see what this meant.

Elijah Tatum

These reactions are like a bad addiction

Christine

Good night! Thanks for the uploads 🤗

Kyra Sun

Have they said what episode they are on in season 4?

Sofia Ruelas

i’m so happy you guys are gonna do a first reaction to the OPs 😭 I just commented on the video before but y’all were way ahead of me!

Tyler Smith

A few days ago they said 7 don’t know if they’ve watched more since though

GBuckets

Never used patreon before and thought i never will. Y’all changed that 😂

Shiro

You win some, you lose some! Season 4 episode 1 - good luck!!

Xelarender

Honestly was just a lucky refresh. Not even a notification for me...

Dony29

bro the way the ending kicks in at end with those lines gives me chills every damn time 😭

DW AWdAWD A

please tell me we get season 4 ep 1 tonight

kev

Grisha when he found out his neighbors named their son Armin: 👁👄👁

Branflakes

The owl is such a dope Character, I wish they would make a spin off OVA about how he got the attack titan in Marley

Mike burns

So what did Jackson respond with 🤨

Tkdmegs

NOT MY MOM WALKING IN WHILE I WAS WATCHING YOU GUYS AND SAYING ALL OF YOU WERE HANDSOME YOUNG MEN😂😂😂😂😂😂I’M ACTUALLY DECEASED RIGHT NOW😂😂😂😂💀

Nextrackter

you guys are not ready for 19-20-21, 20 is arguably the best and craziest plot twist in all of fiction

farkzzy

delete this please they shouldn’t know that there’s a plot twist

The Owl

Dude, now we can finally address (to some degree) how on-point Carter was about Dr. Jaeger knowing the future & Eren's dreams being connected to time somehow. Brigg's right, it's insane that he put that together from nothing but a 10-second flashback that has zero context. Big props.

Kyra Sun

Can't believe in (I think) 6/7 more days we'll be getting new Aot content! Finally starting the last season/part(s)

kiiturii

YES FINALLY we can talk about Carters insane prediction about Eren's dreams being connected through time, I still can't believe he caught something like that soooo early on lmaoo

szeth

Apparently the Japanese translation is The Attack Titan so idk how the title became Attack on Titan lol

三上

Brig, you told something too soon! Please wait until that episode ends.

Bladee

W

C2-H5-OH

The bombshell at the end of this episode alone makes the patreon worth it and then some

Lucas Alves

blond dude just gave a massive spoiler after the end scene

The Owl

Agreed, I’ve been telling my friends for a couple years how awesome a prequel series about The Owl would be. Or one about the The Eldian Empire/Great Titan War.

The Owl

This show is just so damn good.

Pocketsleuth

I swear The Owl, Eren Kruger had some of the best lines in the whole series, "The only truth in this world is that there is no truth, anyone can be a devil or god, all it takes is for people to believe it", "This is a story you started", "maybe I'm still looking at the world from a crack through the closet door" and then finally of course "To save Mikasa, Armin, and everyone else, you must see it through". So good. But Brig, my man please stop dropping spoilers 😭😭😭

szeth

Lol makes sense, I do think it sounds cooler tho that might be recognition bias

Branflakes

That would be dope too, maybe someday once the anime is finished they will go back and give us something like that. We definitely didn't get enough time with the owl.

kiiturii

Isayama probably didn't care what the real translation was he just wanted it to be as similar as possible to the japanese title lol

kiiturii

I can definitely imagine they'd do something like that, there's too much hype and money surrounding aot that the question of whether or not it's worth it shouldn't be an issue

Max Stone

These guys absolutely CANNOT watch the Season 4 part 2 opening

Pocketsleuth

I get that but it's hard to skip when it starts that fast, I don't think they'll be fast enough to skip it and by then it's too late so, might as well just enjoy the song without looking at the screen as they've been doing :)

ssj4rit

Agreed. Wish he wouldn't spoil so much. The other two who already watched the show are better with the information they give.

Derrick

Omg guys as you’re fuming please please please stop spoiling key facts for Cannon and Carter; that is so aggravating. You have to remember where you were when you first watched the episode.

Hevin

lol my bf commented on me watching them, I'm like chill it's just fun to see non anime fans react to a show I started watching in middle school (def not complaining about the 'visuals' tho) lmao

三上

As a Japanese, I didn't understand the meaning of the title until the title drop.

Tyler Larkins

Kinda ruins the point of it if you tell them that before hand bro🤦‍♂️

Tyler Larkins

Man was thinking the same thing at the end when they mentioned where the memories may have come from🤦‍♂️I was stumped till THAT episode and I’m sure they would’ve been too

Gestrid

From what I understand, the manga author chose the name himself. He thought he knew English well enough to translate the title. That's just what I've heard, anyway, but I don't know if it's true.

Zechree

I think the two of them will be able to look away. Itll be. chill. weekend work ethic is crazy

PST3

or when he took Eren to see the Ackermanns because their child was called Mikasa

Miranda

Fun fact, when Kruger asked Grisha you have no balls, Grisha doesn't have balls because they cut those during tortue. It's shown in the manga. But this man is lucky to have the titan power to grow back and have Eren lol

Shiro

Incidentally, that is the same line that Grisha tells Eren when he injects him with titan juice - "Save Mikasa and Armin..."

Miranda

Since you guys are at S4 E17 now, I can say the following things. When I first watch this I also didn't realize that Ymir chose a path that she knows that she's going to be eaten. I also didn't realize that she's dead now. It hits different when you rewatch S2 and you will understand why she's do indecisive. I still can't "understand" why she would choose to sacrifice herself since we all think she's a "selfish" human being.

nomorepartiezz

eh, it was a spoiler but at the same time I feel like thats pretty clearly where the story was headed. they all love the show and are hyped about where its going so Brig probably just got caught up more in sharing in the hype with his friends. It doesnt really matter now, they’re like a few days from being fully caught up at this point

Gestrid

Alright, now for a mindfuckery analysis of the significance of the number 13 (the time someone has left to live after inheriting the power of the 9) that I hope doesn't get caught in Patreon's spam filter (no spoilers): * From the narrations in season 1 and the history books shown, around 100 years ago (specifically, 107 years from chapter 2 of the manga), the first ruler of the Walls, King Fritz the 145th created the walls to protect humanity. * When a someone gains a titan power, their remaining lifespan is set to 13 years due to "Ymir's Curse". Same number of years between the royal family's succesion ritual. * "145th king" means there have been 145 wielders of the Founding Titan at that time. 145 x 13 = 1885. So 107 years ago, it has been 1885 years from Ymir Fritz. * At present time (1885 + 107) it would be 1992 years since Ymir Fritz. * Eren got his titan power at age 10, he's supposed to die when he's 23. Currently, Eren is 15 and has around 8 years left to live. * 1992 + 8 = 2000. The title of the first episode is "To You, in 2,000 Years". Also, the only time they put a page number on the SnK Tankobon (the Shingeki no Kyojin manga volume, similar to a comic book compilation) is on page 13 (https://imgur.com/a/T6aWioG) of volume 1 (chapter 1 “To you, 2000 years from now”. You can do some math magic mentioned above) where Eren wakes up from his dream But there’s also another thing: Leap year. In the lunisolar Hebrew calendar, a 13th lunar month is added when applicable. Why is that special? Well in Japanese Kanji, this 13th month is written as 閏月 (leap year is written as 閏年). The significance of this character 閏 is that it’s written by joining two characters 門 and 王. 門 in Japanese means “gate” and 王 means “king”. Together, it’s written as a “king residing within the gate”. Sounds like our favorite 145th King, Fritz. More random thoughts: In addition to the Curse of Ymir, the number “13”, usually associated as a rather unfortunate/deathly number, is prominent in AoT/SnK. Makes sense when there’s tons of deaths in the show. * Eren and co are from 104th training corps (divisible by 13) * Year 845 is divisible by 13 * Year 850 is 8+5+0=13 (super stretched I know) * Erwin is the 13th commander of the Survey Corps (lots and lots of deaths there) * Levi is begged by Isabel and Farlan (in the OVA “No Regrets”) to join the expedition on their 13th night together in the Survey Corps. He trusts them and reluctantly agrees. Both of them die tragically. Another random piece of info: One of Linked Horizon's (the band that performs most of Attack on Titan's OPs and one of their EDs) recent tracks is called “13 no Fuyu” which roughly translates to “13 winters”. It’s sung by none other than Yui Ishikawa, the VA of Mikasa. “Winter” is kind of important because Mikasa meets Eren for the first time in the winter. Hence the scarf. (Credit to /u/Buzie and /u/u8myramen_y on Reddit for compiling all this information back when this episode originally aired.)

Agha

Are we getting season 4 episode saturday and sunday?

Randy Nguyen

I mean Cannon was already there ep 1 and I was there pretty early on too, so it's not like we all have the same analytical skills. Whatever works, works. They're loving the show so much more than I anticipated though and it's like watching through it for the first time again for me as well despite their in depth post episode conversations.

Stoke me a clipper

I always love seeing the reactions to Kruger's last lines. After having so many questions answered, the INDIGNATION at being thrown such a fucky curveball gives me life.

Elina

I’ve been waiting for the “if you want to save mika’s a and armin” line for so long I remember watching it for the first time and it actually blew my mind and that was when I realized I was watching something that would be cemented in history forever this show is so incredible and this episode is where the big picture really begins to show itself

Gestrid

It was the two people I credited that went in-depth, not me.

humbleandkindness

brig is just like me fr if I watched this with my friends/family I would have such a hard time not talking about all the connections lol,, carter was already there with the theories tho honestly

Usagi

Who’s jackson?

Krii

so glad i subbed to their patreon cuz oof rewatching all this with them just brought back so so many feels I cannot.

Dony29

i believe they’re plan is to upload to around 4x6 by this weekend

A_Daddy Daichi

I love 8:55. As if Eren is there in place of Krueger explaining the paths/founding titan. Nice detail

Z Rhoads

They said season 4 tomorrow in an earlier comment though. Well technically today depending on your time zone. But season 4 on Saturday basically lol

Z Rhoads

Or when...well I wont say it. But they probably already watched it by now lol

ash

idk why ppl are mad bc brigg didnt even really spoil?? he just suggested an idea that i feel like is a pretty reasonable theory to come up w at this point even without having seen the show before. yall getting so mad in the comments are the ones actually spoiling by confirming it bc they didn't even take what he said that seriously lol

A_Daddy Daichi

ohh I don't remember that lol. well actually I did read the manga in a frenzy bc I was scared lmao

rosa_gris

I want you guys to remember Eren Kruger’s “The only truth in this world is that there is no truth”. You can’t take a character’s perspective as the absolute truth. For example, Rod Reiss’ interpretation of history. This show will keep challenging everything you think you know.

T. Law

You remember Uri saying "even in these walls I couldn't build a paradise." This is what he meant.

Neltran

Absolutely insane Carter picked up on the dreams connected to future part that early lol.

David Herrera

I was almost sure they would mention something like "Hey, isn't ´The owl´ one of our subscriptors/commenters?"

David Herrera

@nomorepartiezz even if it's a spoiler of 1 episode ahead, we miss the reaction, and I agree that Brigg spoils Carter and Cannon, leading, denying wrong theories or makings comments to make them realize something.

Kim555

the one with the glasses. He is the nice one that always gets punched

Kim555

Just to be fair from now on. If Carter and Cannon have questions let's not answer them unless they aren't mentioned later in the show. Strike 2 Brig, the first strike is when you mentioned the nuke power of the colossal seconds before he even used it.

Ceecee

Let s4 be uploaded! March is coming for part 3 😭

Ceecee

Guys!!!! Trailer for AOT S4 part 3 is out now! Please make a short reaction and tell us what you expect! Onegaishimasu!

Rihab Bhar

after i had finished aot, i had nightmares about colossal titans invading the world with some very insane details that send chills down my spine

D D

What’s gonna happen at strike 3 💀 leave em alone I thought it was fine

Kim555

if he gets strike 3 he'll get mad tickles from the boys 😈

Gu

You don't confirm or deny theories

Gu

It wasn't suggestive, he spoke about it as if it was with certainty

nomorepartiezz

they gotta catch up to the show first, but that will be soon. I think it looks incredible!

Crowderr

https://youtu.be/amffO0ieZgU I don't know if you guys will see this but someone made a real life version of the season 4 part 1 intro. Just thought I'd share so you can see it too

Andrea Hernandez

The shock on their faces at the end XD is priceless! I haven't read all the comments, because I want to move on to the reactions, but it seems pointless to me that some people are picking on Brig for what he said or didn't say, they are already in the middle of season 4, so it's information that, by now, they should already be dealing with

Jeffrey

youtu.be is just shortened URL You can also rewrite it with full URL www.youtube.com/watch?v=amffO0ieZgU

Tsunazoz

When are you guys uploading season 4? Im so excited

Alan

It’s super sick for the title because it could mean two things depending on context in Japanese. The particle の or “no” could mean “on”or it could be used to describe a noun so attack on titan Or the attack titan

Jeffrey

I was reading through the comments and saw that Brig spoiled something and I thought, no big deal, right? it can't be a major spoiler. Then I saw it right near the end of the video... That was a pretty big reveal that we get much later in season 4.

Jeffrey

One of my favourite lines of the show. Of all things, who would've thought there were time travel elements in this show. Can't wait for season 4 reactions

Brayden

hey guys, just curious. Are we going to get ep 1 of season 4 this week or are you guys thinking abt waiting until next week to start posting the new season.

Brayden

just because u think it was fine doesn't make it fine depending on the thing mentioned.

Trafolol

they said we'll get to ~4x6 roughly this weekend, could change maybe idk

Lag Sold

Please post more this weekend

Julia Perez

Seriously - I’ve spoiled bits of stories for my friends before on accident, and the best way to deal with it is just to play it off, not draw tons of attention to it. Usually they don’t even notice

Rawsushiii

BE SUPER CAREFUL ON SOCIAL MEDIA. They just dropped a new trailer for this Friday's episode.

nomorepartiezz

i know we’re getting season 4 soon but im really curious to see you’re guys’ opinions on characters like falco, gabi, and eren

Brayden

lmao. ive thought abt that. just spam refresh until it pops up and boom ur first

Jan Lepp

SPOILER ALERT, IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED ALL THE SEASONS UNTIL NOW DON'T RED ANY FURTHER! Why did they have to say 'that might not be a Founding Titan power, could be an Attack Titan's power?' Dude, that's straight up spoiling.

James

Random question, but I'm wondering if you guys could do a reaction video to the Hiroyuki Sawano Project emU? It's a performance by the musicians from the AoT music, and had received 26 million views with half a million likes on YouTube.

Will Wong

Love that Carter want to pool the opening reactions together. When can we expect that reaction? Very excited

farkzzy

no at the end they were talking about a different jackson

kiiturii

that's not really true, the particle 'no' indicates possession, and in some contexts it can be more like an "of" in english. I don't think there's any way shingeki no kyojin would correctly translate to attack on titan. Isayama probably just chose that as the translation because of the visual similarity or because it sounds cooler idk lol

Alan

That’s true for formal Japanese but since “attack” isn’t normally used as an adjective they add the の as to not make it confusing

Joseph Vitale

SAME AS ABOVE DON’T READ THIS EITHER. I mean not really that was the best way he could have dodged it without going into any details/ or letting him think the wrong thing the whole time

Josh Knoebel

Pretty sure they said they've already finished Season 4, it just takes longer to get their videos edited and uploaded

三上

Yes, that's true.の is not used to attack normally, so I didn't understand the title meaning until the title drop in this episode.(I am a Japanese)Japanese people were so impressed when we heard his titan name.

Wulfheart

I loved how back in season 1 Carter thought time travel had something to do with it. Not entirely correct but the memories of future and present are important as you can see. Can't say too much without spoilers but I'm happy that he's finally getting his confirmation (kind of) lol

anna

SPOILER or maybe not, wasn't the attack titan ability explained in this episode? i don't really remember exactly

anna

well, the nuke power is not a big spoiler. it was literally shown this season too.

Kaelah

I loved learning the name of Eren's Titan. I always look back on his past scenes when he absolutely rages about his freedom and whatnot b/c he perfectly captures the essence of his Titan. It hit me like a rock making all of the connections to his character and the Titan he inherited, especially on my second watch of the show.

e r

in the manga, historia has an intense mental breakdown after ymir leaves her. they cut it out of the anime and i will forever be spiteful because of it. it added way more depth to their relationship. they were in love. also the dub version of ymir’s letter is 100% more emotional.

Darkfoot

no, the best way he could have dodged it without going into any details/ or letting him think the wrong thing the whole time, was to say "I don't know"

ssj4rit

What’s the problem with thinking the “wrong” thing? AoT always presents part of the truth and has people thinking the “wrong” thing until many episodes later when it’s fully clarified. That’s part of the fun, when what you think you thought true ends up being wrong or just part of a larger truth.

2023-04-29 11:21:57 By the way, if you haven't already learned "Attack on Titan" is kind of a wrong translation of the title of the show The name of the show is Shingeki no Kyojin Shingeki in Japanese does mean "Attack" and Kyojin means "Titan" But the 'no' particle in between is the possessive particle This makes the word 'Shingeki' and adjective describing 'Kyojin' Hence, the name of the show is really "The Attack Titan" I don't know why they changed the title in English lol

Chloe jg

I just peeped that kruger was the first one to say grisha started this story @jack @mckay @brig

Romang

ymir writing in her letter that she has no regrets except not having been able to marry historia always breaks my heart ugh

lydia

You guys give too much hint or confirm too much of their theories

metalgearbear

It might be hard to see, but there's a single tear that Historia lets go of when she says that bit about Ymir. It's very subtle since the camera is immediately changing to the next person. It's such good writing nuance that we get a glimpse at Historia's emotions, even though she's more a background right now.

ChaosDragon

The reveal from what I heard was a surprise to Japanese people too, as most words and phrases in Japanese carry multiple meanings and context is needed to decide which is used. "Attack on Titan" was the English translation specifically chosen by the creator, with the attack titan already having been planned(as apart from the ending he planned the entire story from the beginning).

Evan

dawg it was the most obvious thing that historia was crying

rayman

24:45 I CANNOT believe Brig just said that... bro that's a spoiler for waay into Season 4 wtffff why would he say that. Yall were getting way too excited and saying way too much hoooly

rayman

ya bro wtf that's such a big spoiler that isn't revealed till deep into Season 4. The Attack Titan's power is never even touched on til the second half of S4, so him saying that to the other 2 is just outrageous

rayman

he was basically explaining the Attack Titan's power which is NEVER mentioned at any point in the show until deep into Season 4. Like anything with AoT, the crumbs and hints are always there but you only realize once you find out the truth and look back on episodes. What Brig just did is the equivalent of saying back when you meet the Beast titan "see he's not from the walls, he's from a civilization outside the walls where Annie is from." The hints for all truths of the show are teased waay early. People saying he didn't just casually drop a huge spoiler have forgotten what anime they're watching. Cannon and Carter want to be so blind they don't even want to watch intros so what Brig just did is egregious.

locomojoboy

Being that it’s the same guy who’s always talking during the reaction it’s not that surprising he’d be the one to say that

locomojoboy

I wanna know how the hell Grisha made it all the way to the wall without getting eaten? Did he master his titan form in that distance? And then when he got to the wall how the hell did he manage to get in? What lie did he tell the guards for why he’s outside the walls?

diego duffeler

i'm pretty sure a couple episodes ago they already showed scenes of the scouts finding grisha outside the walls and how he got in

locomojoboy

Yeah they just showed that the scouts found him, but it had to have been relatively close to the wall as they have never been able to go that far until they had eren on their side. So that’s still a lot of desert and distance that Grisha has to cover by himself. Hard to believe that he (and the warrior candidates) were able to travel that far without encountering or being killed by titans, save for Marcel without being able to control his ability in the short amount of time. But still what lie could a “civilian” possibly convince the scouts as the reason for him being far outside the walls?

Raven -

I mean you do not need to master titan power just to use your hands like in a regular fight.

Caleb

i love how jack doesnt even bother telling them after they ignored him for the 2nd time lmao

Blue John

I realise I'm watching a year-old video, but dangit. I thought everything was going so nice in the video and suddenly...why are you spoiling stuff??? I get it's not an overt spoiler, but it is a very narrow leading hint. Just stay quiet dangit. Just smile or nod or something for god's sake.

No room for cat swinging

Yeah man, I'm late as well but yeah, Brig has been asking way too many pointed questions throughout that give the first time watchers the answers before the show reveals it. There have been moments where they didn't react to reveals because Brig had already pointed them in the direction of answering it themselves. It's a pet peeve of mine when someone is doing this sort of thing with first time watchers so I've been trying very hard to ignore it lol. Half the enjoyment of AoT is figuring this stuff out yourself or having it finally revealed to you. I've been enjoying watching along with them all but that's been my only gripe
