I love how in the end the group was able to physically and metaphorically “leave the forest”. Fun fact: Floch’s last name is Forster which means “occupational and topographic name for someone who lived or worked in a forest”. He and people who think like him will always remain in the forest.

BipolarKitten

I'm sad because aot reaction gonna over soon

DeludedDonut

I beg you. Please upload the last 3 tomorrow

BipolarKitten

Just curious, what Brig mean when he said "Drink my rehab". Not American here, so i might not know some term they said.

Betty H

I think he's referring to an energy drink called Rehab

This is the part of the story where Hajime Isayama wanted his characters to start understanding the enemy's perspective. As an effect on this retrospection, we start seeing characters introspecting. For example in Part 3-1, when the Marlyan commander is giving a speech to his soldiers at the airbase, he said "We took advantage of hate... instilled and fostered it... As a result, that monster was born." As they were looking at the monster marching towards them with terrified faces, it was almost as if they were looking at the hatred that lives within themselves. We then hear the last line in Part 3-1 where Armin asked Eren "In what ways are you free?" referring to his emotions. Obviously, we don't know Eren's true thinking and plans are at this point, and we'll have to see how the story ends.

H2KKI2

You guys should react to some of the popular memes that were made of attack on titan, there are some pretty good ones out there xDDD

Jake the Movie Geek

Can you guys upload the last 3 episodes today?

celery

its literally confirmed u can use any pronouns for hange bozo

Marcus Gonzalez

We need a compilation of cannon’s reactions to the to be continued screen

metalgearbear

I love all the references to Marco during these episodes. He was the first person to believe in Jean, told Jean he was meant for something greater than being an MP and that he has what it takes to lead and be a hero. I wish we could've gotten more of Marco before he died ;_;

Jag_227

There's so many shots that cover a character's mouth or doesn't show a character as they're talking. Almost like trying to avoid having to animate it. The animation in this episode is very disappointing to me

Northyee

that also makes it easier for dub voice actors to just say the exact lines if they're not trying to make it match with the mouth movement, at the cost of hidden faces

kiiturii

idk man if they can save some time on a dialogue heavy episode then that's more than worth it. They're just talking so who really cares if the animation is top tier... You're just reading the sub anyway, plus some of the shots are really cool and add on to the whole atmosphere around the campfire

Sarah

I don't think Armin was calling Conny's bluff. He's always been ready and willing to put his life on the line for a cause he believes in (see: his conversation with Annie way back in S1). The irony is that he doesn't see or value that strength in himself, and his guilt trip over Levi choosing him over Erwin is only making it worse. That's what I LOVE about this season though. Isayama forces all our crew to come back face to face with the internal struggles they'd *thought* they'd overcome. Jean again has to face the temptation to give up on what he believes and settle for a cushy life of complacency, Armin has to battle his inner demons of feeling weak and like a burden, Mikasa has to wrestle with whether she is her own person or whether she will let Eren define her for the rest of her life, etc. The character writing is really masterful. ... Just realized I posted this under the wrong episode, oops.

Jag_227

AoT is more than action scenes. I would have appreciated more attention to detail for, imo, a very important episode. Just my opinion

Wulfheart

It's crazy to just look at the character development of where all of these characters started and where they are now. This camp fire scene has so much in it in such a short amount of time. The amount of pain and suffering that's being brought to the forefront. It's a masterpiece of writing.

adam

honestly i don't really like how all hange said is "genocide is wrong" with no plan after that whatsoever, after stopping the rumbling and then what? how will you keeping peace after that? really hope there's more depth to it

Wulfheart

The way I see it Eren is doing a horrible thing to save his people. The alliance is doing the morally right thing but condemning their people.

Francarlos Nascimento

Just because they might be attacked by the people outside the walls in the future and have no plans to stop that, they can't justify killing all humanity. It's just the worst action someone could do. That's why there's "no depth" in what she said. Trying to go deeper and even discuss it is wrong, and you'd be only trying to justify genocide.

adam

so my question : if your own race is literally getting persecuted all over the world, literally putting them in internment zones and treated them like animals, how could u not fight back? By diplomation? They already tried that and failed. By only attacking the millitary base? The "innocent" civilians will still treat them badly (grisha's flashback). Will u sacrifice ur own people just to save the others that don't even see u as an equal human?

jordan solomon

as a manga reader, i hope they keep the original ending. its not expected (like the rest of this show) and i personally think its the perfect way to wrap up this story. its looking like theyre staying on track with the manga, but fingers crossed!

Hunter Snider

I'll be honest I'm prob just a huge dumbass for this but I didn't remember Jean having a thing for Mikasa at all when I first watched lmao

locomojoboy

As much as I love better animated scenes, there was really no reason to have it in this episode that consisted entirely of talking

locomojoboy

If the eldian empire ruled for 2000 years, how the hell were other countries able to become modernized? With titans able to dominate other nations, they never should have been able to advance past the dark ages

Josh Howard

In the first season there was a moment when mikasa slow-mo passed by jean and he thought her hair was beautiful but then she cut it bc eren said it would get in the way

David Maj

In general I feel like anime isn’t very good at making people’s feelings clear if they’re romantic. Either that or I’m too used to the western style of people having sex in every show.

april 🍏

I love this episode, it's so cathartic and such a great Jean-character-based moment.

DJ

I know I'm late on this but first let's not add the eldians outside Paradis island in this equation to try and justify it cause Eren is litterally killing them too. How are those eldians being saved by the rumbling? Second, I can accept arguments to explain and even justify Eren's thought process but do people not think about what would happen afterwards? The island is governed by the Jagerists who are clearly starting a dictatorship. What kind of good life is that for the ppl left? I bet not soon after, divide and war would just start again. That's no happy ending for them either.
