I watched a “behind the scenes” episode on AoT part 3 on a Japanese program a few weeks ago, and I was surprised to see how small the operation was in creating this anime (cramped office environment). However, you can tell they were working hard, and working on the different scenes in parallel with being very detail-oriented; there was one person working on the Eren scene with the young boy when she was told that Eren had too many tears coming down his face, and there was another person using footage of a centipede moving around to make the couple of seconds of Eren moving around in his Titan form which actually seemed very time-consuming.

I loved watching this again with y'all. Watching the switched dynamic of who knew what to expect and who didn't was fun. Despite all the controversy surrounding the ending, I believe y'all will enjoy it. I personally thought it ended in a satisfactory way. Also, for clarification, the first scene of this episode is a manga accurate reanimation of the first manga panels because the first episode was not true to the pages. It'll make more sense why they made sure to get it right next episode.

I hate that you guys are getting all this "the ending sucks" opinions (or that you just saw them across comments) The thing with the ending is that people isn't happy that their theory came out true, they thought they could give a "better" explanation to some things. The ending itself is good, I would say appropriate to the story, is coherent. The author has gotten too much hate for it, I don't know if he would try to change for the anime (since he is involved on the production too) but hopefully he doesn't, it was cool having that resolution and the symbolism were on point too. Of course that's also just my opinion, I'm excited for next part to come, so every one will be able to speak what you think of the story. Hope you guys can get your channel back soon.

I agree... Most of the reactions to the original endings are unfair. I won't say it's wrong, because you like what you like and you hate what you hate. But there is a way to show it... and the way most people do it, it's clear that they didn't understand it or just very angry because it didn't happen the way it happened.

rosa_gris

There’s a lot of mixed on opinions on the direction of the story, the execution of said direction, the themes portrayed etc. Amongst them, the main criticism both sides agree on is that the pacing was terrible. I believe, and hope, that these pacing issues will be resolved in the anime.

rosa_gris

About an anime-only ending (AoE), I found the conspiracy theories surrounding it really interesting. The main reason why people want to believe in an AoE is because many are in denial about the manga ending (COPIUM). Another reason is because of the way the story was set up; it is similar to another story that Isayama has said he had drawn inspiration from. It involves a theory you guys briefly touched on. This probably sounds cryptic because I’m trying to avoid mentioning spoilers, but I think it’s something you guys should look into when you’ve finished all of Attack on Titan. I don’t believe there will be an AoE (because the anime hasn’t hinted at it at all) but it would’ve been interesting to see how they pull off something so ambitious. EDIT: Isayama, not Togashi. Thanks @ssj4rit

ssj4rit

What story did Togashi draw inspiration from? I watched both HxH and YYH but not sure lol

rosa_gris

Lmao I mistakenly wrote Togashi instead of Isayama 😭 HxH really living in my head rent free. Thanks for the correction.

ssj4rit

Ah ok makes sense. HxH is GOATed but I didn’t know how it related here lol Side note it’s hilarious how Levi looks like Feitan, Annie looks like Pakunoda and Eren S4 looks like Chrollo lol.

Finally 🥹

rosa_gris

Haha true. Never made the Eren Chrollo connection. On a similar note, Armin and Kurapika (Yorkshin arc) have similar hair and have successfully passed as a girl.

Remember in s01 when hange would get excited about Titans/her experiments, everyone would leave the room/avoid listening to her. Now in the afterlife, Erwin saying that scouts are there to listen to her is so significant😭

lol I just remember seeing this meme a few years ago and was like dang it fits: https://www.reddit.com/r/titanfolk/comments/owavzo/remember_ladies_and_gentlemen_if_your_anime/

Wilson Nguyen

fun fact since u mentioned it but levi and annie are both in fact designed after feitan and pakunoda

Slizzle

About your conversation at the start about mikasa and levi, I don’t think you can compare them because levi is 30+ year old experienced captain while mikasa is still a teenager, she is literally only 19 I think in season 4

Yeayy finally Brig’s reaction!! Haha love how some were getting flustered over Armin x Annie’s romance scenes. So wholesome to see those two finding love in a world full of hate. I was getting emotional again watching Carter and Cannon’s reaction to Hange’s death. I can never stop crying over it. Definitely a 10/10 episode🙏🏻 Can’t wait for S4 review soon!!

Jeagar Eren

remember the mikasa touching eren's face scene , you will understand the relationship to final end when it comes out this April

Diana Rodriguez ⛓️

cried again! it makes me so sad that Levi losses people all the time.

The RZA

Hearing Brig's question about how tall Reiner is made me curious. Amazingly in S4 he's only 6'2" which Erwin was also. Kenny calling Levi "shrimp" is funnier for me now that i know he was a foot taller than Levi at 6'3" and the tallest character was Shadis at 6'6" (good lord...no wonder he was so intimidating to the recruits) Cannon, this is the second time I've watched this but i forgot about your "biggest blueball of the century" comment and was taking a drink right as credits started..totally didn't laugh and have a shot of whiskey come out my nose..... idk the official answer to what happened to Zeke but to me it seems like Eren just has control over him from that...thing that gave Ymir her power originally. Right before he transforms into titan and starts the rumbling you can see it reach out and grab Zeke..sure atleast one of you caught that but just in-case :p sry for novel..btw love the Star Wars references. Have any of you checked out old republic stuff like Bane or Revan?

BoredVoid

It wouldn't matter if Onyankopon was Eldian or not. The plane wouldn't crash. All Paths interactions take place in the same moment of time for the real world.

A

Right. They’re quite annoying. It’s truly never that serious

Jag_227

Do you have a link? I am interested to watch that behind the scenes

CheyenneInWonderland

The biggest difference for me between Eren and Darth Vader is that once Anakin turned to the dark side, he was fully dark with no humanity left in him. Darth Vader killed people with no real reason, he just had a lot of anger and took that out on millions of people - Eren doesn't kill people out of anger, or for no reason. He kills people because he genuinely feels (and has proof through memories) that this is his ONLY option...he doesn't want to kill people, but Darth Vader does lol like he chooses to without caring

Mamox

haha i can't believe you're all re-reacting to this for Brig, awesome

PugLover

Before the series review, you guys should react to a popular YouTube video called "This video will change how you see Eren" by invaderzz. The creator argues for a hot take on Eren's character but provides such strong evidence that I find it hard to see Eren in any other way now. I'm SO curious if you guys would agree with him or find his analysis flawed somehow.

Andrés Urrea

I’m kind of lost here, where is the reaction from the rest of the group?

Jade

hai they posted season 4 part 3 on Mar 3rd on the patreon, try look closer u will see it

Janey

Omg, that's gonna make me cry all over again. What a beautiful call back

locomojoboy

Since when has it been stated that the female titan can acquire attributes of the rest of the 9 by eating parts of them? I’ve never heard that before. Sounds like something that was just pulled out of their ass.

Alicia Strong

No, this was actually stated BY annie herself in the 1 hour special episode, near the end. Also it was in the manga as well. Not trying to fight or anything, just letting you know it really is cannon.

locomojoboy

Exactly! It was stated for the FIRST TIME EVER by Annie this late in the series. Not arguing either but introducing a concept/knowledge for the first time that can change the outcome of an event this late in any show/movie is an ass pull that can lead to deus ex machina. You say it’s mentioned in the manga too. Is it mentioned for the first time this late in the manga too, or do they establish it earlier, like when colonel magath is giving a database rundown of all their titans/powers and which cadet best fits? Or do they mention it even earlier than that?
